@texasgardnr It must be working so far... I was down 1.1 pounds this morning! I'm actually more interested to see if there are significant changes in measurements since I haven't done measurements before.

Thanks @texasgardnr, it was repaired late today. It just needed a capacitor replacement, thank goodness. Unexpected expense, but could have been worse.

Alive and well, I am! It's been hot and very humid here over the past two weeks, so I have tried to keep up with garden work on a periodic basis. My August goal is 1250 minutes of exercise as tracked by my fitbit. Minutes tracked are in the cardio/peak and fat burning range. So here is what I have done thus far this month.

    August 2 = 60
    August 7 = 80
    August 9 = 120
    August 10 = 40
    August 11 = 75
    August 12 = 100

August total = 475/1250. Have a great August week everyone. Cathy B.

A little over 23 miles last week.

    44/100

Did 1 miracle mile followed by JS 10 min Abs and Arms Walk. I've closed my activity ring just now after doing some weed whipping in the yard.

Unexpected timing of home repairs have interrupted my fitness plan. But, I am definitely noticing that I am stronger and have more stamina. I will be moving boxes back and forth and up and down stairs every day this week. So, I'm pausing my 30 day plan until I actually slow down enough to get a rest day.

    8/1 Burn 30
    8/2 Firm 30, plus a leisurely walk
    8/3 Burn 30
8/4 Firm 30, plus some walking
8/5 planned rest day, 30 minute leisurely walk
    8/6 Burn 30
    8/7 Firm 30, 35 minutes light walking
    8/8 Burn 30 , 50 minutes light walking
    8/9 Firm 30
8/10 25 minutes light walking, 60+ minutes carrying boxes, moving furniture, hours of bending, lifting and installing flooring
8/11 60+ minutes carrying boxes, moving furniture, hours of bending, lifting and installing flooring
8/12 (scheduled rest day), 60+ minutes of carrying boxes, moving furniture, hours of bending, lifting and installing flooring
8/13 40 minutes of carrying boxes and household items

4.54 mile walk this morning in the rain. I so needed a good long, wet walk. I took two days off because I had to say goodbye to one of my cats. Monday morning I had to euthanize my cat Boots. She was 13 years old a the sweetest cat ever.

On a good note....I roller skated very unexpectedly yesterday for 3 hours. I took my grandson and his cousin to a roller rink for the last day of summer vacation. I was told they both knew how to roller skate. NOPE. I put on skates and it was like riding a bike. So much fun. Turns out my FitBit gave me zero steps. I was surprised but I get that I was rolling not walking.

Dear @PinkyPan1, sending you a great big hug. I'm so sorry about Boots. I am a dog mom, so I understand that animals are family. I hope you have lots of wonderful memories of her.

About roller skating...I haven't done that in years, but I used to love it. You may not have picked up any steps with it, but I am sure it burned some calories and it's so good for your muscles.

    5 Really Big Miles

Located an old workout DVD that I think just might help me work on regaining some muscle since the accident. It's Core Secrets with Gunnar Peterson. Anyone else ever do those back in the day?? The workouts include the use of a stability ball, which miraculously doesn't hurt my back. I only tried a 20 minute workout with it tonight and my leg muscles were shaking. I hope this is going to be helpful for me.

New to the group, but I dusted off my Leslie DVDs this a.m. Did 5 miles. I've set a goal of 90 miles for the next 30 days. I'm tired of killing myself with HIIT and being in pain. I simply love walking.
