What's on your mind today?

Here's where you can share what's on your mind. Recipes, ideas, workouts, anything that you think might be helpful to others.
Maybe, you've tried something that has worked for you in the past and would like to share it with the group. Maybe, you have a NSV (Non Scale Victory) that you would like to share with the group. Anything that you feel comfortable sharing or anything that you feel comfortable asking the group with help....this is the place to come.
The GOOD!! What NSV did you have this week!!
The BAD!! So what....you ate the whole thing!!
The UGLY!! That darn scale went through the window this week....it deserved it too!!
So, what's on your mind today??

So, I'm wondering if anyone has advice for me. About 3.5 weeks ago, I decided to get serious about the weight I gained over the summer. I cut out all sweets and I'm trying to avoid refined sugar. I also have limited bread and pasta. I haven't had any cravings, and for the first week or 2 felt fantastic. Then I got sick. Fever, chills, sore muscles, extreme fatigue. Now, that is passed, but the symptoms are lingering. Running has become so hard for me (I've been a runner for years). I feel weak and tired. I'm getting head aches, especially if I bend down, I'm thirsty. I feel dehydrated even though I'm drinking lots of water, I'm having night sweats.
So, I guess what my question is is has my change in diet causes this? Am I eating too few calories? Or should I be going to the dr?0 -

No. Had you said you felt lightheaded maybe but you said fever, chills, fatigue and muscle sorenes. That is the flu, or a bug, call it as you like.Mrscanmore wrote: »Am I eating too few calories?
If you are following MFP automatic calculations according to your stats, no. MFP won't make you starve. If you have adjusted them because you wanted to restrict more, maybe.Mrscanmore wrote: »Or should I be going to the dr?
Well with the flu if you are over the fever it's a tad bit late but do go if you are in doubt. Absolutely. Consider the recovery time needed from the flu is absurdly long, things like two-three weeks if not a month before to being back on top of things.
Just a tip about thirst. I find out when I race and finish stupidly dehydrated I feel like drinking off a huge amount of water but thirst won't go away. I found out that making a 1/2 liter of electrolytes beverage (we have sugar free powders and tablets) and drinking that helps curb the thirst a lot better. You may try that.

My month has just got chaotic and I haven't been logging or checking in. Food choices have been up and down and exercise is good. I've maintained for 3 years so I know I'm good for that for now. I leave on a mission trip with 6 other ladies to North Africa on Thursday, returning on 8 October. I will jump back in then and work at losing these last 5 kgs.
I will also be focusing on my health then because I need to be super healthy as I have been matched to donate my kidney to a friend. (hmm how much does my kidney weigh...) Jokes, I will be on limited training for my recovery anyway so need to keep diet on point to drop the weight.
This weekend was a good indication that summer is nearly here and I spent most of the last 3 days outside at the beach!
Hope everyone is smashing their goals.0
