            Mornin. Back from NH.
Tuesday, my brother & wife & I met up with two cousins visiting in the area, one of whom we never met before, and the other who my brother tracked down a few years ago doing genealogy. They are sisters, 80 and 82, whose grandmother was our grandmother's sister, (who in turn were born in Germany back in the mid-1800's). Interesting conversations and nice lunch at Castle in the Clouds, on the patio of the mountaintop restaurant overlooking lake Winnepesauke.
Not much exercise last few days except lugging furniture up and down stairs with DB and hauling to dump. Torrential rains yesterday, then several rainbows on my ride home at sunset.
Tomorrow I have an echocardiogram. Sam, hope your tests turn out okay; we'll have to compare pictures. Am up a little on the scale, maybe salt from the huge pastrami sandwich I had for lunch.
Cool here--58°. Good luck to folks with heat waves, smoke issues, aches, pains and illnesses.

            Good Morning!
Mike, sounds like a fun visit with your family, and extended family! Good luck with the medical tests.
Bill, keeping you in prayer for your knee, and for your pain management.
Sam, you are kept in prayer, as well, for your health issues.
Connie and I are seeing a counselor this afternoon to start on a process on moving our son Collin to the next step. This is based on Allison Bottke's book, Setting Boundaries With Your Adult Children. We have to start moving the marker, as it were, and get Collin doing something. The first step in the process is to identify where Connie and I keep enabling him, and stopping that. Then we come up with an action plan to help, not enable, him to get out on his own. It is a Christian based, "tough love" program.
Rain today, heat moving back in after that. This one could get our drought status improved!!
 Have a great day!

            Mornin' gents.
Cool here too. Refreshing, but probably going to shut down ripening of whats left on the tomato plants. Tonight I might have the last BLT of the season.
Kale has started to turn bitter. Arugula is still good and it likes this cool weather.
Hope your tests came out OK or at least provided needed info to adjust meds, Sam. Good luck on echo, Mike. Hope the pastrami sammich doesn't blow up your BP and cholesterol.
You seem to have a strong hold on family ties, Mike. That is good. Blood is thicker than water.
 Heating up again in KC?
 Still smoky in west?
 Be OP ;-)

            Good morning gentlemen.
The temperature here before dawn is warmer than it has been - 59 - due to overcast skies. The high today, however, will be around 70. Twenty degrees cooler than yesterday. Hope the "marine push" moves some of the smoke out.
Getting a new crown put in at the dentist, this morning, then watching DGD's final swimming lesson of the summer. She asked for her own bowl, so I turned one for her yesterday. I'll finish it up, first thing this morning, and give it to her today.
Hope the counselor helps you find a way forward, Steve.
We are getting overwhelmed by green beans and strawberries. We need a larger freezer. DW and I had shortcake for dessert last night. It was great, but I can't do that every night, when I am trying to lose weight. The excess cherry tomatoes can just go in the freezer, too. They are great in sauces and other recipes. Our pumpkins are starting to turn orange, too; a sure sign of autumn.0

            Good Morning!
I have to take my car in for an oil change & tire rotation. It is way past due. I don't put too many miles on it now just running errands and Dr appts, so I am supposed to take it in every 6 months since it takes longer to get to 3K miles. Then I borrow DS's car to go see the Ortho about my knee. I am hoping a cortisone injection or something will calm it down and he can explain what happened.
Steve, that program sounds good. We now have 2 adult son's at home who are older than Colin. One is trying to find a new job and is eager to get his life going again. The other works at home but doesn't make enough to support himself. DW and I have been talking how to help him to self-sufficiency which we think he wants too.0

Tough love can be very hard, but when we enable our children we are not doing them any favors. If we have not made them independent where they can take care of themselves what is going to happen once we are gone. Steve, you Connie and Collin will continue in our prayers.
 Mike, hope all goes great.
Bill, hope you get some relief with knee.
Last year we were covered up with beans, this year the rabbits will not let beans get over 6 inches, have replanted three times. Second planting of tomatoes beginning to bloom, hopefully rain will stop enough where okra will start producing. Squash has not produced much.
 Enjoy the Day,
 Sam I am0
