It is a myth that exercise alone will result in weight loss. On the positive side, some weight gain is great, if it's caused by exercise. On the other hand, the perfect combination is tracking your calories and keeping under your weight loss or maintenance limits And then doing exercise too.
Have a great day,

Exercised?: Yes (5km walk in forest)
Calories?: Yes
Tracked?: Yes
It's been a while, and I am still here and still tracking.
Only real pass day while away was on the trip home from Spain, and that was through lack of exercise.
Still only 63.5kg as of this morning.
Since I last posted I have between Spain and Australia 2 times (from Melbourne to Madrid and back to Melbourne again). Each trip is 24 hours. Only one of them was an "inactive" trip as I was caught with work emails to catch up on while changing flights in Dubai instead of my usual walking.
I have been insanely busy with Spain work and travel, but nice to be back home. Only problem is that I feel like I am working two jobs for the wage of one (daytime support for Australia, the night time work for Spain that is 10 hours offset - soon to be 11 when they exit daylight savings).
Sorry for lack of communication. My Spanish is a lot better - I can read it at near full speed with 80+% comprehension, but my pronunciation is appalling (by Madrid standards).
My wife is still doing fantastic with her blood sugars and losing weight. She is looking fantastic (and I tell her at every opportunity). Still no insulin. Her blood pressure medication has also been reduced. Will be looking are reducing the oral blood sugar medication in early November when she next sees her specialist. Her "bad" days are better than her "best" days ever used to be. She has way more good days than bad days. She has lost 18kg (40 lbs) so far and looks to be on track to be no longer in the obese BMI well before Christmas. I am so proud of how well she is doing. Diet has been the biggest thing. Her main exercises are walking (daily), spinning (making yarn) and Zumba once a week.
I'll leave you with a photo of a shy little critter I saw on todays walk.
@RangerRickL. So true about diet being the biggest contributor to overweight. You cannot consistently out-exercise a bad diet. My wife and I resemble these comments.
This is why I have maintained my weight irrespective of travel, work, stress and fatigue. All because I watch my diet (tracking). It makes me mindful of what I eat.

Today I got some of the boys back into the morning rolling routine which was awesome. Had a lunchtime session with my exercise guy which was mostly stretching and massage to deal with all my pain from ramping up my training levels this week after travel and illness. Evening judo class to round it off.
Logged everything and although I was slightly over calories, I'm OK with that. My watch tells me I burn about 1700 passive calories per day and anything from 200 to 900 in some form of activity, but I don't wear the watch for any of my Jiu Jitsu or judo training, so now of that is included. When I look at that, I realise that 1800 calories is possibly too low for me as I don't eat back exercise calories. I may look at raising my goal to 2000 (although I need to find food that is higher in calorie because I already feel like I'm eating so much!)3 -
Exercize - 11k run (1000m repeats)
Calories - no
Tracked - no
This is my pass day no.1, really the only day I could have off diet before the next race so I took advantage of it. Back to my diet tomorrow.7 -

Kudos to your wife Craig for sticking to her goals and sorry you have to work so much!

I went the other direction today. I am hosting out of town visitors in my office from today through mid-day on Friday. Since I am the host, I shared two restaurant prepared meals with my guests. I did track. I did not have a blow out, but I am over my calories.
Nonetheless, I had a great pre-winter cardio/strength workout this morning.
This was Pass Day 3 for me.

@trimi1104. 11km run. Unless you ate an elephant or two, you were likely under budget. What type of diet are you on (if I may enquire)?
Anyway, it's good to have scheduled pass days (now if only I could follow my own advice ).
Best of luck in your next race.1 -
@fatbambi2017.
@jan110144.
@w8goal4life.
@MzRuthy.
Thank you for the support and encouragement.
I am so proud of how my wife is doing. It's been over a year since I achieved my target weight (and I have maintained it ever since), but I never pushed her to manage her size/weight/health. She had tried MANY times before, but this is the most successful she has ever been at it. This time the mindset is different. She has changed her eating habits for good, it's not a diet.
I'm sure we all have someone who we care about that we think "If only we could change ....". However, the change for them must come from within. Be the person you want them to be and inspire them to change. Let them have the idea and offer help only when asked for. Once it's the other persons desire to change, it's hard to stop them. (Especially if you have already successfully led the way and they are learning from your learnings and mistakes).

LMAO! I burned around 900 cals with training but 800 cals is about the amount of the first thing I ate...the rest followed. When you cheat, cheat BIG!
I do intermittent fasting, pretty simple.
Two workouts a day (most days, pre-race schedule changes things up a bit) and one meal of around 1000 cals after each. Same structure into every meal...protein powder and maltodextrin asap as I finish training, shower, look like a human being again, then bread/meat/vegs.2 -
Yes to all 32

Did I exercise for at least 20 minutes? Yes - 47 minutes on mini-trampoline
Did I stay within my calorie budget for the day? Yes
Did I keep track of everything I ate and drank? Yes

Wow O, that is so true! That is why .... My profile has "A Change in behavior begins with a change in the heart" You can desire change for people but it has to come from within them for them to be successful.
BTW, congratulations to your wife!
