Reilly got a message from the breeders wife stating the pups have low iron. That’s why his toenails are very white.
His nails are growing and not white now
I’ve fixed him organ meat. Beef liver.
Is this a good idea??

All this “his” is reference to Henry not reilly.0

We've got a bad reputation when you have to repost an addendum to clarify such details

Liver is great. If you are feeding raw remember that you want to feed at least 10% offal.
Did you get the book I recommended?0 -
Yes Raine I bought the book. I’m not going to do the raw food
I am giving him cooked meat only with his kibble.0 -
Does he get onions with his cooked liver, and bacon?0

LMAO!
Wisconsin shoots; scores!

Nope. Good one though.0

I think we need to ask why the pups are iron deficient. Usually it parasitism.0

I'm not a DVM (but I did stay at a Holiday Inn Express once) - (un)scientific journal literature contends that Drinking Beer Has an Adverse Affect on Iron Levels.
There you go - O'Henry is likely drinking too much beer.

Great conversation here, parasites, offal, etc. yummmmm

He had round worm.
He goes back to vet Monday. He weighed 10# when we got him up to 15.2# now.0 -
So he's a Tequila drinker too? Geesh!0

Once round worms have been eradicated, his iron levels should return to normal in no time feeding a good quality puppy chow formula. Supplementing with iron orally will probably not speed recovery (unless on a low meat source diet) since absorption of iron is slow through the gut. If iron deficiency is severe, then iron can be given by injection, but it does not seem that Henry has a severe deficiency at this time.1
