Cyst Pain & Treatment

Hey ladies! I was diagnosed with PCOS in the spring but have been struggling with it for several years now and just didn’t know what was wrong. During the first part of 2017, I had 131 days of continuous bleeding and have continued to struggle to control it. I also experience a lot of pain, which I believe may be related to the cysts. When I was diagnosed I had 12 cysts on one ovary and 14 on the other. The pain is very sharp, and seems to be related to whether I am on hormones or not, as well we what position I am sitting or laying in. It is worst when I am sitting at a desk or bending in that type of way. Has anyone else had experience with pain like this? If so, how did you treat it?
I have been using the NuvaRing for about 3 months now and it is working well for me. It controls the bleeding and pain and I experience minimal negative side effects. However, I just asked my doctor if I can use it continuously rather than doing 3 weeks in and then 1 week for a “period” since this sharp pain is so bad during the off week. He basically said no, but didn’t tell me why, and just said that I need to come in to talk about alternative methods of long term contraception. I am very frustrated because I feel like I have finally found something that works, but he wants to ditch it. I have tried other methods, and this is what works. As far as I know and have seen, there is no medical reason for needing to remove the Nuvaring every 3 weeks. I feel like he is not listening. Has anyone else had similar experiences or know why I would not be able to use the Nuvaring continuously, or even just take a break every 3 months instead of every month?
Thank you all for your time and help. I really appreciate it!
