Hi ladies!
I'm about 32 weeks and have had heartburn on and off pretty much since before I knew for sure I was pregnant!
Been living on the tums, avoiding fried/greasy/spicy foods, but now it's gotten really BAD!
Took ranitidine and I still feel like a fire breathing dragon.
Any tips appreciated!

    Have you tried papaya enzymes?

    Nope never heard of them.
Fill me in! What are they and where do I get them?
    And do they really work?
    Thanks!!

I got them in the healthfood store last time, haven't needed them this time, but they're a healthier alternative to the chalky tums and are pretty good for most heartburn. I'm not sure how they work but they helped me last time, my midwife recommended them.

I have had major heartburn with all 3 of my pregnancies, and with the first 2 Tums were enough if I popped them regularly. But this time they just weren't cutting it at night, so I switched to Pepcid and that has done wonders for me. I used to take at least 6 Tums through out the night, and now I can take 1 Pepcid when I go to bed and I am fine the rest of the night. I am intrigued by the papaya enzymes though...I've never heard of them and I may have to check it out

There are some good yoga moves for heartburn.

You can also look them up on youtube for a good video example.

Another thing that has worked wonders for me is Braggs Apple Cider vinegar. It works like a charm! I would also recommend priobiotics. Between these three things my heartburn is completely gone and I am now able to eat pretty much whatever I want. :)

You just drink some apple cider vinegar? When? Before bed, with prenatals? In water? What? I too am dying with my heartburn and belching at night. Any specific probitotics?

I do one tablespoon in water every night. If I feel bad or am having symtoms I will do it up to three times per day. You can also do it with juice. I usually take my prenatals a few hours apart.

The probiotics I am using are Natren Life Start. They are specifically for pregnant, nursing moms and infants. They help with all sorts of tummy ailments also!! I was actually able to get rid of group B strep in my urine by taking them. :)
