Hey everyone my name is Victoria and I have decided to restart my journey on this site and try to lose the weight i've gained back since my wedding last year. I personally am not a picky eater but my husband is, and he loves junk food. It's super hard for me to go through this journey alone and I would like to make it something we can accomplish together because we both need to be healthier and get rid of some bad habits.
Basically, with him it's like feeding a finicky 2 year old lol. If it's green he doesn't even want to try it. I am looking for some suggestions or recipes from some fellow picky eaters and maybe some tips and tricks I can try to encourage him to be a little more adventurous when trying new foods. I did get him to try some pretty surprising things on our honeymoon cruise and was so proud of him!
Any advice or recipes I could try would be greatly appreciated

I can tell you one thing I HATED growing up... is when my mom snuck foods I didn't like (most of the time onions/peppers) into foods and said they weren't in there. OR when she said "I cut them so small you won't taste them". That's total BS. You can taste what you dislike more acutely, in my opinion.
I'm trying to become more open minded as an adult and try new things. What helps me with vegetables is to roast the living daylights out of them It makes them a better texture to me and sweeter. I don't like that watery crunch so many people love about fresh veggies. So maybe try that. Also, blending the veggies up and putting them in sauces hide their texture and flavor. If you are going to make something with sauce (like a casserole), roast and then blend up some veggies that he doesn't like and have him try it. But whatever you do, don't say they aren't in there. Being picky makes you mistrust others when they cook for you especially when they try to trick you.
I also find trying something new is always better with wine in hand. Because if you hate it, you got something to cleanse the palate. That may work with other drinks too.
Oh... and don't put too many new things into one meal. It's scary as a picky eater! Try one new offending-food per week. If he likes it, slowly start incorporating it in meals you make.
Good luck!0
