Good morning.
Four more family members arrived yesterday, so we're no longer alone at the hotel. My shoulders are a bit crispy today because I spent a little too much time in the pool avoiding people. So, it's back to SPF 50 for the duration.
Today's pic is a good sample of life in Brazil. There's a promotion with this grocery chain where if you spend R$50 on groceries, you get an entry to win a car. So, you give them your Financial ID number at the cash register - because they don't have loyalty cards - and then go to a separate line at a computer terminal with every computer-illiterate person in town. Re-enter your ID and a password from the receipt and it prints tickets to put in a drum.
Repeat this process in four stores that are always busy and you can see the futility and wasted time. The line pictured is actually pretty short; about 15 people needing 2 minutes each. But, it's s free car!

Good Morning BBB.
We went to the Apple Store in Sarasota yesterday to get new batteries for our iPhones - Tom had to order his because its an SE that they do not make any longer - I opted for a new phone - XR in bright yellow!!! We will return in January to get Tom's battery. He is toying with getting an AppleWatch so we may do that then.
Today we will do a bit of laundry in preparation for Tom's trip up north and hit a grocery to get ingredients for the dish we are bringing to the Christmas event with friends.
High in low 70s today. Warming trend after Christmas - Florida winters are rough 😆

Took Babe and Tess out yesterday for a walk with shotgun after work. Temperature and wind chill started dropping making it a wee bit uncomfortable for me as the sun started setting. I hunt them separately because although Tess is works pretty quickly, Babe is a freakin' rocket. Tess is hard enough to keep up with in the mud, but thank God Babe hups (sits) on the whistle. She was tracking a bird and I couldn't keep up. I had to keep hupping her so she didn't get out of range and we never produced the bird because she tracked it to an area I didn't want her to go into. Sometimes the bird wins.
I have a ceramic dog bowl that keeps the dog's water pretty cool. Kinda like toilet bowl water, LOL.
Yeti is the new Apple.
Kelly, you wouldn't want an afternoon appointment with me. I am usually running fifteen to 30 minutes late, unless of course you arrive late then I am on time. I wonder if that is why a person or critter is called a "patient"?

Funny appointment story - when I was a young lawyer and frustrated with clients coming late to appointments an older attorney told me to just set everyone's appointments at the same time and they will self sort - he was right!0

That was sort of how it used to be done in veterinary practice, Raine. No appointments, kinda like the ER, first come first serve. It often meant staying late working your tookus off and then twiddling your thumbs until end of office hours on other days.0 -

- Speaking of Godliness I had to call in sick today. I was supposed to run slides but I told them yesterday that I could be there but they may not want to be around me. I was told to stay home.

- Raine has new fruit, shall I call it a banana? My Galaxy S8 has a new OS. Joined the 'Pie' beta for Samsung yesterday. Yeh, I know. Apple has a better software upgrade program. The pluses and minuses of being proprietary.
- Steve, I see where Kansas has $10M worth of computers to unload.

I've got roast airing in fridge going to try cooking at 180, couple of casseroles to fix so will not have to bother tomorrow. Even though we have several bins of cookies we made DW believes we need an Italian Cream cake. Always over abundance.

Good Evening
Noon guests left, dishes done and the Packers pulled a win, barely. So fun to have all my 20-30+ yo nieces and nephews over. These cousins all are close even though they are spread out. Its amazing what great kids they all turned out to be. Maybe my generation didn't do too bad, afterall, our dysfunction and all....Wish their grandma was here to see how they all turned out . So....these are my deceased Ex's siblings kids and our two sons, ie my son's first cousins on their dad's side. I spent a lot of time with these kids when they were born thru high school age, raised our kids together.... So blessed they are all here for Christmas. These get togethers with me, would never happen if my Ex was still here.... but now I keep in touch, they come around tonsee my sons etc.
Tomorrow is SO's family and kids in the day here. Then church with bff, then we will catch up with the cousin group again tomorrow night at my nephews.
Merry Christmas Eve eve! I'm going to bed yawn.0 -
