    Good morning.
TGIF. I’ll be done about noon today. No big plans for the weekend. How about everyone else?

Henry got some amoxicillin and cough medicine. He weighed in at 57.2. I got him 6 months of heartworm. He’s good to go now.

Have a great day. I’ll cbl.

    Mornin' BBB.

    Hope Henry feels better soon.

    How's Annabelle's tummy ache?

Surgery went well yesterday. Am doing a boob job on poor dog with severe necrosing mastitis today. Wanna see before and after pics?

Nothing special but hanging with DW this weekend. Monday is her birthday. She doesn't like big birthday celebrations, but I try to spoil her a little.

    BBB OP ;-)

    Good Morning BBB.
Tom made great time driving up north. It is very weird to be up there without a house. He has a few big jobs that will keep him there at least a week to 10 days.
Meanwhile back at the RV, the service guy came yesterday to work on our list of warranty issues - great guy - we lucked out.
Dog beach with Jack today - just a quick visit but keeping my promise of once a week.
Lee - Glad the surgery yesterday went well. Is the boob job today a complete mastectomy?
    Lisa - how is Annabelle?
Kelly - if it's a well run doggie daycare they can still have crud passed around - there are many more strains of bordetella than the vaccination covers let alone all sorts of other stuff they can pass around. Going forward keep Henry's immune system strong with diet, supplements, and, of course, essential oils 😆.
I hope our BBB sickies are better every day.
    Do good out there everyone.
    cbl

Just debridement of dead and soon to die tissue and then drain placement and we'll spay her at same time. Generally, mastectomies are for when we detect tumors.

    Good morning.

Currently sitting in the airport lounge waiting to wander to our gate for boarding.

We lost five hours yesterday to a traffic jam that had no apparent reason to exist other than terrible central planning by the government. And it occurred to me that I've done a good job as your touristic ambassador, but that I havent shown the other side.

The reality is this - Brazil is a beautiful hot mess and it's people pay a heavy price for it. I showed you yesterday just how regressive the taxes can be on purchases in stores. The same is true at the pump where an energy-independent nation charges its people $4.61 per gallon for gas because of the enormous tax load it imposes. People in the large cities have good transit options, but if you are anywhere else, you need a car.

Capitalist mini-editorial: Rather than tax the crap out of everything and then giving people a government handout because they can't afford things, maybe drop the taxes on household basics instead. The rich are only buying so much rice or gas, so you're not giving them any meaningful break, but you'll help the poor tremendously.

The lack of proper planning and funds to address societal ills result in all kinds of headaches. From crack addicts living *in* highway construction zones to the military patrolling those highways muzzles out.

    IMG-20181227-132825.jpg

Much of the beautiful stuff they built for the Olympics is now either tagged with graffiti or riddled with bullet holes from gang violence. It's a scary place to live at times, whether you're Brazilian or estrangeiro.

There's a lot to be celebrated here too. I mean, how can you not appreciate getting your buzz on while getting a buzz cut?
    IMG-20181227-173343.jpg

Or this view from the car before the aforementioned traffic jam? IMG-20181227-104218.jpg

And, this hot mess of a country gave me my hot mess of a wife.
    IMG-20181227-205619.jpg

Anyway, it's time to head towards the gate now and I've got a bladder that needs emptying.

See you on the other side.

    Morning BBB

We hunkered down in a hotel all day yesterday walking across the parking lot for dinner. I got a ton of work done. It was nice to have an "office" day with little distractions.

We will try to head home later this morning. The interstate is open but hoping the roads will get a bit better.

    Morning~

I feel like I've been to Brazil! Amid the government shutdown - I feel like I got a vacation! Thank you tour guide, Lou! Thank you for the pictures and the astute commentary! Andy Rooney aint got *kitten* on Lou Stone!

    Safe Travels home!

Lee - of course we want to see before and after!

The descention of both DBIL and families is later today. Off to steakhouse tonight for DMIL birthday (and I know that I know that I know, I'll end up with the entire bill).

No end in sight for gov't shutdown. Ugh.

Did we decide on a computer for DS?

Mary - thank you for sharing! Spot on reminder. I don't have children but am smart enough to know they are as perceptive as any mega machine!

How is Miss Annabelle? Big #6 tomorrow? WOO HOO! Have a blast!

Have a great day - I'm trying to chug down coffee from a wannabe SBUX kiosk where English is a third language for the helpful (emphasized sarcasm) barista.....

    Cheers

Welcome almost home Lou and DW! Thanks for the tour. How did you met DW and what brought her to the Chicago area from Brazil?

Raine, didn't you have a cat, too? Bet Jack likes the dog beach!

My weekend starts at noon today, my last half day of vacation time to use. I will RELAX all weekend, start my new book! And Sunday night we are going with another couple to see the Trans-Siberian Orchestra show and dinner downtown. Then more relaxation Mon/Tues. I don't plan to leave the house. I may have Maddie the dog overnight Monday NYE, we'll see.

My turkey soup from scratch turned out wonderfully. I have 2 containers to deliver over to DS2 and his dgf on way home at noon. I may invite them out to lunch today as well, we'll see.

Hope Henry and all others feel better soon!

Happy Friday to those of us stuck at work for a bit today!

    Good morning BBB friends.

    Safe travels, Low.

Happy birthdays and anniversaries to all celebrants.

Feel pretty good, but can't seem to shake a nagging cough. Maybe I can use it as an excuse to get away from people and out in the shop.

    Good morning BBB Friends.
    • I'm craving some of Mary's home made turkey soup for lunch.
    • Welcome on the way back Lou. I've enjoyed the travelogue. Yeh, you would think gas would be cheap in Brazil.
    • Raine, did the "other" house close without issue? Must be strange for Tom to be 'visiting' Chicago.
    • Lee, are we talking flesh eating bacteria?
    • Safe travels Steph.
    • DW and I ventured out for a lunch date yesterday. Pizza at a local shop. Sam knows Amici's.
    • Happy Anniversary Mr. and Mrs. Crozier.

    Happy Anniversary, Jim & Lisa!

Dennis - glad you and DW are on rebound and able to get out for a slice!

SGM - sure hope what has hold of you and I goes away soon! Sick of this cough!

Sam - great idea, though I don't do dishes.... Nice thought though - would be worth seeing their two expressions......

Now I'm hungry for turkey soup!

TSO is a great concert! The light show is off the charts, Mary! Enjoy!
