Final week and weird distances

I did my first week 8 run and ran for 20 mins, so was super pleased with myself. Quite excited about moving onto the full app.
I have a question though, zombies run has measured my route as anything from 3.75 to 5.7 km. I've decided it's a bit over 4km as runkeeper said this the one time I used it. Has anyone else had this happen?

When you are running outside, the GPS can ping you incorrectly. if you look at the map that ZR! provides on its website, does it look like you are zig zagging or going places that you know you did not go? All of that falsely adds distance (and also increases your mph).
Depending on the amount of tree coverage or sky visibility will make a difference. Some gps apps are better than others.
You can actually link your ZR to your RunKeeper, and your RunKeeper to MFP. I choose to log my own runs into MFP for the same reason as to what you described. In RunKeeper you can create "routes" if you tend to run the same course, then you know exactly how far you ran even when the GPS is miscalculating.
Hope all of this helps.0 -
Yes, lots of zigzagging. Hopefully it'll do it on Friday and pass me on the 5k! Im fairly sure my route is 4k. Oh well0
