Have you noticed that it's light LATER now? Yaaaaaaaaaaay! I got out of work at 6:45ish last night, and it was still light! Spring WILL come ... it will! Next Friday is March! I'm freakishly happy about this.
Dave, I'm so sorry about your friend. I can't imagine the sorrow she was experiencing, and you're so right about us needing to pay attention. That said, sometimes others simply don't know and couldn't know, too. Sometimes we cannot stop a tragedy and we just need to accept it. I hope that those close to her are getting the support they need to heal from this. One of my sponsees lost her best friend to suicide when she (my sponsee) was only 2 months sober. It's a miracle that she was able to maintain her sobriety through that. She's coming up on 2 years now, and she talks often and openly about the hole that this loss created in her life and in the community ... the ongoing ripples of that decision. In the moment, I think some of us think that we don't matter, but the truth is that we DO. The last time I drank, I was suicidal, too. I thought it would be better for everyone if I just disappeared. I'm so grateful for the woman who found me and for my family for literally guarding me through some very frail weeks. I've thought about how my daughters' weddings would have been different if I'd succeeded that day. I think about it when they call me to ask me all those little questions that young adults ask, like how long the chicken will last in the fridge. I think about how Jim would have felt on Friday nights, which are always our date nights. Man. I'm so grateful for life.

Sorry about your choir member, Dave. I think Lisa's take on how to deal with that kind of loss is spot on.
Love the ceramic dog, Dennis. Neat way to commemorate Sarah.
Raine, its good to be busy. Keeps the blood flowing and it makes the moments you can relax all the more relaxing.
DS#1 supposed to drive up from Baltimore today, which means he will have to travel with this winter storm as it comes northward. Sent him a text advising him to wait until tomorrow. Inconvenient, but safe.
Good you are feeling better and not needing O2, Sam.

A sign you're getting a little older - when you need some help getting back up the stairs.

Good morning
Safe travel prayers for your boy Lee. My Ds1 is headed to Indy in the slush.
Hoping Henry gets a friend. If not it wasn’t meant to be.
Off I go into the slush myself.0 -
Good morning BBB Friends.
- Lisa, you are inspirational in more ways than one.
- Got news yesterday that one of the gentleman on our church AV team passed away. He got a cancer diagnosis about a month ago. They installed a chemo port and it got infected and he went downhill quickly. Like Dave's friend it reminds us that life on earth is temporary. I am trying to prepare for the next one.
- Going to a neighborhood shooting interest group meeting this morning. The guy who led the group is moving and he was a one man show. We just go to a range about once a month and usually to a BBQ joint afterwards. Today we figure out how to move on without him.
- Got a chance to hear Josh McDowell speak tonight (Google him).
- Drive safely and stay warm.
- Oh, the scale said I can go back to maintenance mode this morning.

Good morning BBB friends.
Thank you, Lisa, for your comments. And for the rest of you, too. This is a great little community.
Rita is much improved. We had the grandkids over for several houirs, yesterday. That always serves as a tonic.
