I am back again for my ... OMG, I think it's SIX now .... sixth? fifth? month of UAC, and I will be changing my profile picture from "flying pig with rainbow" to "sleek kitty" on April 1, to signal that this will be my first month transitioning into the Maintenance Mindset.
UAC has become such a way-of-life for me that it seems both like forever and only last month ....
This month will also mark a change from my usual "jogging on the mini-trampoline" as exercise to a shorter-but-more-intense&challenging core-strengthening program based on Latin Competitive Dance choreography (not so bio-mechanically different from the belly dance I used to be so good at ... most differences are in the arm movements and nuances .... sultry vs sassy ).
Once the roads and sidewalks are completely clear of ice, crud and corruption, I also expect to be doing out-of-doors power walking with my BFF to support her ongoing cardio-rehab recovery program ... once the sidewalks clear ... so maybe that won't be till right at the end of the month, or into May the way the weather has been around here ....
I am feeling sleek and sassy these days, with more than 47 pounds shed over the past 23 months. The self-awareness and self-discipline learned here has had a huge impact on getting me to this point.
Tis time ... for my next adventure ....11 -
I am back for my fourth month! I successfully made it to the Winner's Circle in January and February, and am still planning to be there in March. UAC has been pivotal in helping me stay motivated and on the right path, and keep my 50+ lb weight loss while I continue to work on losing my few extra pounds and get fitter and stronger.
@BMcC9 -- I did Latin competitive ballroom dancing for a few years -- it is amazing exercise! Are you taking dance classes or are you using a fitness method based on it? I'd love to hear more about it!

I'm in!! I may not be in the Winners Circle but I am here This will be my 3rd month with UAC and have found this group to be very helpful to change my unhealthy habits into new healthy habits. For example I am again finding myself taking a walk on a Saturday and Sunday when I got away from that.
I am 57 years old, 5' 3" and started my weight loss mid January at 203. I am now at 196 and feeling upbeat about this being the last time I have to loose weight. I am determined to get to a healthier weight, at least 145 pounds. When I get there I may want to keep going. If I could get to 125 that would be my best. Wouldn't it be exciting to be healthier and sexier at 60 then I was at 50!!
I look forward to April and seeing new faces and thankful for all those who keep returning and sharing their stories and offering support and encouragement!9 -

Called Figure 8 Fitness. (part of the Body FX family) Designed by Latin Ballroom Competition Choreographer. Jaana Kunitz Google her name or "Figure 8 Fitness" and it will take you to info / purchase site.
One-time purchase gives you lifetime access to chosen streamed videos from website or app-on-phone-or-tablet (available from both apple and android) and lots of other ways like via chrome-cast (which I know nothing about) AND back-up DVDs are an option when you purchase (only pay for shipping - they came quickly).
I signed up for Basic and (included free if requested at the same time) a set of 30 10-minute sessions for when one is pressed for time and can't fit in one of the usual ~30-minute "classes".
There are some additional advanced levels of Figure 8, and other Body FX programs, that I have not chosen to buy access to yet.
There is an option (not for me just now) for membership at a small monthly cost, giving access to full Body FX suite, Monthly challenges that involve receiving daily emails of "today's exercise", motivational messages, and access to other types of support / nutritional guidance etc. This can apparently be canceled before the end of any month, at any time.4 -
Very cool, @BMcC9! Thank you so much for sharing -- I'll definitely check it out!3

I joined my first UAC back in Nov 2016 when I was trying to lose baby weight from my first pregnancy. It's the best group on MFP by far. I took a little break at the start of my current pregnancy but now I'm hoping for good habits to see me through the last 2-3 months. I've seen lots of lovely people come and go. Everyone is welcome. Thanks @RangerRickL for your consistency in keeping it going!6

I'm looking forward to this challenge and the everyday consistency it will bring. I'm not getting anywhere without counting calories. We will see. Much success in April fellow challengers!6

Hi! I'm new here. I've been on MFP for 3 sold weeks and it's been a great intentional change. I'm 11pounds into my 100 pound journey. I've never loved exercise, but I am actively reframing to be movement of any kind, and I'm starting to look forward to each day. My jam is yoga, but that's not the best for weight loss, so I've added walking/biking/hiking and all kinds of crazy YouTube videos to mix it up. I'm learning to laugh at myself and not care what anyone else thinks of my weirdness. I'm 2 weeks from turning 50, and my life is changing!!! Yay!!6
-
Hello,
New to this group ( or any MFP group for that matter) however I have been a MFP member for ages on and off.
I currently have a streak of 143 days but I've not managed to lose any weight in that time, in fact I've put on a few pounds. The only exercise I get is a round of golf a week if I'm lucky and walking the dog.
I weigh 20st 6lb (286 lb) today. I need to lose 90lbs or so overall to be a healthy weight.
My vices are bread and beer, and pigging out after a few beers.
I set my alarm every weekday morning for 6 am in order to go downstairs and do some stretching and kettlebells / body weight exercise. And every weekday morning I turn my alarm off and have another 30 mins in bed until my wife's alarm goes off.
Other than my work which is a predominately sedentary job for 40 hours per week I have few other commitments. We have no kids. I have the equipment I need to get started.
I have no good excuse.

I’d like to join this
I’m 5ft 9 and currently 272lbs. My goal is 170. I started my weight loss journey in September 2018 weighing 304lbs.
I have a 4-day hen do over the Easter weekend, so may not make it to the winner’s circle but plan on making the other 26 days the best they can be!

I have been in UAC since January. Looking forward to getting back on track and learning develop a healthy lifestyle that remains consistent. I am so ready to get rid of the roller coaster diet I do. I found a new quote, "practice makes permanent". I really like that, since my struggle is remaining consistent.6

Hi friends! I'm a newcomer who has plateaued. Ugh. I'm looking forward to meeting you all and jump starting my journey. I have about 10 lbs to go.

Hi guys! I am new to the challenge, but not new MFP..
I am Beka, 42, mom of 2 humans and 3 fur babies. Happliy married and living in the mountains of North Georgia. I had a very successful weight loss in the past, but fell off the wagon and gained 45 pounds back... ROUND 2!!!
I am 5'7 and 220 lbs. I am a runner - completed my first HALF MARATHON about 3 weeks ago. My goal is to become more regular with my running and get my food back in check.
I'm looking forward to this new challenge!!!8 -
Hurray! A fellow mom and Runner. Congrats on your half!! It's a big accomplishment. Let me warn you...it's addictive. Also, we have much in common: I'm 44, mom of 2, fur-mom of 3, and an avid runner. ❤7

Hello! I have found myself faltering lately, eating too much, skipping workouts. I know I need something to get back on track and stay there, and this challenge sounds perfect. I have lost 65 pounds, have about 12 more to go, and I don't want to screw up now!8
-
Hi there! I'm new to the group. I was recently with Weight Watchers. I lost 14 pounds but the recent muscle gain was not showing any changes on the scale. I decided to save myself the money and decided to join MFP. Super excited for this new challenge!!7
-
Hi! I'm brand new to this group and quite excited that it may just be exactly what I need. 😊
I'm a 38 yr old mom of twin 3 yr old boys. Yes life is crazy. Lol. I've been overweight most of my adult life. However, in 2018 I managed to lose 40 lbs. I gained 10 back since the new year and yesterday I finally said enough is enough!!!
I've been on MFP on and off for a few years. But this time I intend on being consistent and successful. I like winning so the goal of the winners circle is perfect!!
I'm 5'9 and as of today 252 lbs. My ultimate goal is to reach 170 lbs. I have a naturally curvy figure so as I get closer I may change that goal but for now it is what it is.
I look forward to getting to know you and cheering you on daily!!!

Hi I am new to the challenge I am 155lbs and would like to shed 20lbs.6

Hello!
My motivation for joining this group is to meet like-minded people that know if they work the MFP plan diligently they will achieve their goals.
Currently my weekly support group is concluding its final session and it has been an important part of my accountability so I am looking forward to continuing this mindset, just in a new forum.

I have been actively utilizing MFP since mid-January 2019. I am 5'7" and 56 years young I work F/T in an office providing administrative support for a great employer. My greatest challenge on improving my health is losing weight and so, well, here I am!

Welcome Newbies and also welcome back oldies.
I have been on this group for over 1 year.
These are some of the sad but wonderful truths I have learned in this journey.
It is about my health /your health. This is one thing in this life that nobody can do for me or you (us).
Nobody can exercise on my or your behalf.
Nobody can keep track of what I/ you eat, bite, lick, drink, etc on my/your behalf
Nobody can stay within my/your calorie budget on my/your behalf

Please do not give up. Please, please, please do not drop out when you fall off the wagon. Get up. We will help you dust off the dirt
This group is very accommodating, very encouraging, and there is no judgement
We are very supportive.
I will be here, some of us will still be here either loosing, maintaining or conquering bad habits. Every small step will put you in the right direction.9 -
Hi all!
This is going to be my first month doing this challenge, as well as doing a second round of Whole30 starting April 7th. Since I'm not supposed to be counting calories for W30, I'm only going to be looking at it at the end of the day. Hopefully intuitive eating will win out!
In terms of eating, I have a ferocious sugar dragon and once I let it out, it cannot be tamed. For example, half a donut this morning turned into another half two hours later, a cookie at lunch, and a muffin after that. I work a (primarily) desk job so I have to be intentionally active or I'll never burn any of that off. My usual exercise is climbing, biking, or walking. My intention is to bike to work (weather permitting) until it gets too cold in the fall. That should be a solid 30 minutes of exercise five days a week, plus walking my dogs and climbing 2-3 times.
I am 5'2", 25 years old, and I have no idea what I weigh right now because I've been avoiding the scale for three weeks. I'm here because I dropped off the wagon, but I fully intend to step on that scale and hop back on. My starting weight was 154lbs in fall of 2018 and on March 2nd I was 127.2 lbs. I've definitely gained since then, so I'll check back in here before the challenge starts with my cw and gw. Ultimately I'm looking to cut to somewhere between 120 and 125 before starting to build muscle.
Hopefully this group will be the kick I need to stay on track for once!3 -
I'm with you on your statements, @victorious55. I'm in this group forever. I'm not quitting on myself and I'm not leaving this group! It's been crucial to my success!1
-
Hi all!
I'm 31 (soon to be 32), female, 5'7", currently at 92 kgs, aiming at 67
I'm a first timer UACer, but I've been on MFP for years.Unfortunately, I'm a serial re-starter. I usually get very motivated for a few weeks, track everything and workout seriously, then something comes up and I fall off the wagon, gaining back everything.
Six years ago I did manage to lose nearly 30 kgs and I maintained for about a year. But then the stress of my growing responsibilities at work pushed me to stress eating and gaining half of it back. Then about 2 and a half years ago I tore my ACL and was practically motionless for 5 months. And after that I fell into the pattern of very strictly following my plan for weeks and losing steadily vs completely going off track for months and gaining it all back...
I need that accountability, because I know that I can make it as long as I stick to it.5 -
Hi, I started MFP back in 2016 and lost 6 stone. I have not been on MFP for about 18 months and gained 2 stone. My first goal is to get that back off. I am looking for buddy’s that can keep each other motivated, so please feel free to add me. I am looking forward to starting this group because I think it will give me the kick I need! 😊4
-
So, I'm back with this challenge to keep me on track while I'm not allowed to train in my chosen sports of judo and jiu jitsu thanks to a broken arm. I tend to get lazy and eat rubbish when my routine is messed up, so I need to establish a new routine with different exercises and be stricter with my food. I am also hoping to get approval to donate my kidney during April which will obviously make exercise even more limited, but I plan to be walking ASAP. Looking forward to sharing our journey through this next month!!!2

Hi! I’m joining this challenge for the first time! I lost 30 lbs 2 years ago using MFP but botched the job at maintenance. My restart was on Dec. 26 2018 (13 weeks ago!) and I’m determined to make the lifestyle change permanent now! All’s been good so far but I think the challenge will help me stay on track and my work/life rhythms change over the next few months.
SW- 156 lbs
CW- 137 lbs
GW-120 lbs (perhaps)
I’m 5’2 and I’m turning 40 in June!2 -

Hi! I am learning about maintenance this month ... looking forward to your "Lessons Learned" wisdom!

I'm joining again this month, will try to stay on track.
Still haven't gotten any diagnosis, nor treatment. Guess we may say I'm a former triathlete, trying to convert to cycling with not much success. At least I can try to stay on track with the calories and don't get fatter, maybe lose some.2 -
Newbie and new to this group. Excited and looking forward to the motivation of logging everything and working out everyday! Been working on my health for years since a couple medical issues sprang up. I am 159 right now and I want to be a healthy 115.2

Hi All, I am kind of Newbie here. Last year I did join for a month or so and fell off the bandwagon. Excited to join the challenge again.
My goal for month of April is to keep up with this challenge.2
