    Good morning, BBB!

So I'm buying kayaks for Jim for his birthday in June (he'll be the big 5-0!) I want to spend under $1000, including paddles, a car carrier, and life vests. Any tips? I was talking to one of my members last night, and it turns out she's a kayak fanatic and knows EVERYTHING. I think I'm going to take her shopping with me. She has a friend selling some pretty nice ones at a good price, too ... I'm going to research them. Don't say anything on my fb, okay? I want to surprise him.

Your dessert sounded delicious, Raine! Was the compote just fruit and sweetener?
What did you do with the hazelnut, Dave?
Mary, 30 pto? That's AWESOME! You should come see me for a couple of them!
I'm a little (a lot) jealous that you can plant flowers this week, Sam.

It's my long day, hence the coffee meme. Hugs all around!

    Mornin' BBB.

That is a cool birthday present, Lisa. Mum's the word.

Funny, the first thing I notice is the nice clean teeth that chihuahua has.

Sorry about the crown, Lou. Do over.

    Good Morning BBB.
We got a bit of rain yesterday - the ground here doesn't hold moisture so it was all dry again by evening.
Continuing to wrangle with Illinois Blue Cross Blue Shield to get refund for extra payment inadvertently made after switch to Florida BCBS - if we ran our businesses the way insurance companies do we would be out of business or indicted.
Meetings all day today. Tomorrow I'll join a friend to pick up plastic caught in the mangroves along an intercoastal pass (Stump Pass for those that know the area.)
Lisa - Cool B-Day present. Jim will love it. So cool that you know someone knowledgeable. The compote was rhubarb cooked with some sugar and lemon juice and then strawberries stirred in just after removed from the heat. I made it last year from our homegrown rhubarb and stored it in the freezer. Yum.
Lee - AB rocks! Gotta love a dog road trip! I noticed the teeth too 😁
Lou - sorry about the crown.
    Bill - AFD gotcha!
Sam - sound like perfect grandkid projects.
    Do good out there everyone.

    Good Morning.
Lou, sorry about the crown. I feel your pain. Another trip today I'm guessing?

Raine, yep, know Stump Pass. Are you wearing your waders out to do that?

    Steph, who sound BUSY.

Sam, loved you throwing the papers all over DMIL's room. ha ha ha.

    Lisa, great gift idea.

So, this is our house at 4am. Yes, 4am.
DH comes home and puts down the wooden blind and my window is open, this sets off a sequence like you wouldn't believe. It startles Henry, who barks once maybe twice. That big bark of his, set off a little yappy dog several yards over who would NOT shut the HeLl up until his owner came out and yelled out him. Then, Henry and Ruby decided they needed to go outside. Henry lollygagged getting outside causing Ruby to pee on the tile floor. Henry finally made it out to bark at the yapping dog.
Finally back in bed around 415... I'm up before 6. The SHAME entire block awake now! ha ha ha

Busy day. I''m helping DH with a custom closet. Hopefully, we'll get lunch together.

I made an appt. with Dr. yesterday. Can't get in until tuesday at 315. Hope I don't die before then. If I do, I'd like Sally's ashes buried with me.

Heading to dentist for a cleaning then onto office. Dental work needs to come with warranty.

Got a nice walk in with the 3yr,5yr brothers last night, I watched them a few weeks back. They are chatter boxes, made time go fast!

    Great gift idea Lisa! Shhhhh

Thai garlic chili lime chicken breasts are marinating for the grill later, can't wait! yum

    Feel better Pacnw friends!

    Have a good day!

    Good morning.

Heavy is the head that will eventually wear the crown. The do-over is on the 17th.

    Cool gift, Lisa!

Maybe you should bring a pot of strong coffee around the neighborhood, Kelly.

    Good morning BBB Friends.
    • Great gift idea Lisa. I have a kayak but glad you found a better source of knowledge. Mine is orange and pointy at both ends.
    • Good luck with the re-crowning Lou. What do you think of Chicago's new mayor? Looked like the better of the two choices. Ya gotta love Chicago politics.
    • I remember lake clean up at our place in AL. My pontoon boat would look like a garbage barge.
    • Weatherman says tonight is the last night in the 40s (48°). It is time to plant in earnest. We had to pull our potted plants in a couple of nights.
    • Get well Dave and Rita.
    • Have a great day BBB.

Is Chicago a political city (Asking for a Friend).

    Good luck with do-over..

Lisa - kayaks are fun. (great exercise)! I found one at LL Bean that I liked. Relatively inexpensive.

    Good morning BBB friends.

Great gift idea, Lisa. Kayaling appeals to me, but my back would never take that sitting position for long.

Made as nice looking natural edge bowl from the hazel nut log, Lisa. Even though the tree was cut almost two years ago, the wood was not completely dry, so I'll have to wait for a while to finish it.

Rita seems to have another nasty cold/cough. It isn't in her chest, but the "tickle" in her throat keeps her coughing. She says she is sure she is dying. She tends toward the dramatic. This has been a rough winter, in our household.

    Good Morning,
Got new ears this morning, like the improvements; can be tied to phone and TV plus more I will have to refresh my mind plus they are smaller than previous.
Dave, have you thought about having toxins tested in house? would love to see pic of bowl when finished.
Lisa, great gift like how you plan ahead
Kelly, know y'all are popular in neighborhood this morning
DMIL is pushing every button that DW has today, I'm going to visit neighbors.
    Enjoy the Day,
    Sam I am

Lisa, I have a bunch of those BDUs (also some desert cammo DCU, from time shaking my fist at Sadaam Husein). Buttoned to the neck, they make a fine turning smock. The cammo bandana also dates from my active duty time. I don't like chips in my thinning hair. But you made me chuckle.

LOL, Lisa I was going to say something but I can't do better than " looking all badkitten with the camo and do-rag!"

Very cool, Dave. Love the montage from raw blank to being turned to finished product.
