This month has started off with lots of enthusiasm and fun. It’s great when team members encourage others and share their successes and challenges.

Posting this today, too. I hope some of you will find it helpful!
Please post what you do that brings you Joy/Feeds your soul❣️
@marthall
I’m really impressed with the effort you put in at dusk to stay within the goals you set for yourself! Terrific!
I agree with underlying causes, but also want to offer something that helped me even more!
If I found/find myself worrying/stressed, I exercise (which you do), take some deep breaths (which I’ve been taught stop the fight & flight reaction & calm the parasympathetic system), and use my mantra... “the Past is passed.” I then take one more deep breath & let all that worry & stress flow out of me...
But here’s what I wanted to share (no doubt you do all of those) ... Find something you LOVE to do. Give yourself permission to do it - as your top priority, not your last. It’s been a game changer for me. I realized food was not only my comfort, but also the way I connected to people & relaxed.
It took a lot of rewriting my brain to realize food is not comfort (not the next morning when I weigh myself or when I hated going clothes shopping & nothing looked good or even immediately after when I realized What I’d done)
And food is not relaxing (for all the reasons above)... doing something we LOVE is, Exercising is (afterwards lol), seeing friends and family with no food involved is, joining groups & classes who have similar interests is!
Yoga helps a lot. Have you considered on-line yoga classes?
I have developed my art practice from Maybe Someday to a Daily Companion, Mood Lifter, and Comfort. I’m in 2 classes & 2 art groups & Ive started my own creativity groups at my house 1-3 X a month, as well as taking on a 5th & a 9th grader to tutor in art.
Part of our task is losing & keeping off our excess weight. Part is exercising & being as healthy as we’d like to be. And I’d argue that the 3rd part is discovering that early dream we had as a middle schooler that got put in the back burner as we pursued careers, etc. Finding & fanning the flames of what brings us Joy is Crucial ❣️12 -

Yes x 3. Managed to arrange a swim at the pool where my dad did lengths first, then we both swam with my 3 Yr old and then I did my lengths while they went to the cafe. Perks of having family living nearby! This time the baby bump seemed to enjoy it more than my last attempt at a swim. Starting to get a few looks now in a swimming costume - 36 weeks tomorrow.8

Hi all, hope you're well!! 3xyes again today and no pass days used yet; this is the longest I've stuck to anything health related. ever. went for a 75 min walk in the woods with my family which includes our 3 Springer spaniels, they've had a bath, dried themself off on my bed! and are all fast asleep now aah x tracked all day. and about 300 below my limit which is still set at maintenance not including the exercise calories I never include those: 374 cals for a slow 75min walk seems a bit unlikely to me? see you all tommorow x best wishes, Amanda x9

@ForAmanda222, I used to have a Springer. Loved that pup so much. He was Sydney and liver/white. Now I have a Schnauzer that we kept after agreeing to foster. Oopsie! He's in my profile pic. We went to a Sounds baseball game last Tuesday night with my friend and her pup. He really enjoyed it!5

Awesome posts from everyone! Reading and writing bring me joy, and I feel like I've done a much better job this time around balancing exercise time with other time, making it something that's more sustainable for me in the longterm.11 -

My family brings me joy. I love spending time with them and this week with my youngest was just great. Even though we were busy, we found times to just be with each other and talk. I'm so proud of him and his big brother, I can hardly stand it. I homeschooled both of them all the way through and now they are both in positions with great companies and working in the field they studied in college. My oldest is a Software Engineer like his dad and my youngest is an Electrical Engineer, like his uncle. My heart is filled with gratitude. Oh, and Ollie! We started fostering him in December and he's now adopted us. He really brings me joy!11 -
