Sleep ... for me, there is a very strong correlation between lack of sleep and bad eating behaviors (I seem to have a problem distinguishing between hunger and being tired). I have been paying more attention to this the past month or so.
I have made 3 changes - I put all electronic devices aside at least an hour before bedtime, I started taking one melatonin about the same time I put the electronics away, and I purchased a cheap "white noise" machine (I now fall asleep to the sound of gentle rain ...which is actually funny, given how much I have complained a out our incessant rain this spring). Not sure which of these is key, but I have increased my sleep by nearly an hour per night.
The other thing that seems to be important is exercise. On the rare days when I get relatively little exercise, I don't sleep very well.
Bottom line is that there is no better way to start the day than having had a good deep the night before.
It is worth paying attention to!8 -
Not enough sleep has been a problem for me these last few weeks, and most of the winter. Once I get sick I can’t exercise as vigorously as I need to, and without a proper night’s sleep, I have trouble getting better. Vicious cycle.
@jan110144 I agree on eliminating screen time in the hour before bed. I’ve switched to headphones listening to a video or short podcast.
But I also checked my sleep against a population of others my age and gender (via Fitbit) and discovered that what I consider poor sleep is normal. Not sure if this is comforting or not.5 -

I go in fits and starts... sometimes i will sleep like a log, other times i have insomnia for a quite few nights. I think with me it stems from times i have a lay in ...the night i cant sleep.4

45 minute HIIT class and under on calories by 38. I’m doing much better this month eating enough.
I am all about my sleep. I wake up between 4:30-5:30am but I typically go to bed around 8pm. I very rarely get less then 7hrs. Regularly get 8-9hrs.
I am a strong believer in getting my z’s.
Lol it’s not always good for my social life.5 -
Did I exercise for at least 20 minutes? Yes, recumbent bike, 10 minutes, 3.08 miles; 15 minutes moving furniture in home office (muscles/joints screaming today, probably due to storms in Nashville )

Pass day #1 for me
Had a grad party and no time to exercise after making a dish
I always get 8 hours sleep now but this wasn't always the case. Like exercise and food it takes effort.8 -

Exercised: 30 minutes strength training + 27K steps

Like @lalabank, I am an early to bed, early to rise type. I'm typically in bed around 8pm and up around 4am, so tend to get 7-8 hours of sleep. (My family and friends think it's weird, but they accept it. I joke that I am on a baby's schedule.) I almost never wake get woken by my alarm (which is set to closer to 5am as my "last chance" alarm) but wake naturally around that time and generally feel well-rested. I am very grateful for my quality of sleep, as my poor sister suffers from insomnia and terrible nightmares, and I wouldn't wish that on anyone! I definitely believe in the importance of sleep for proper functioning.7 -

with proper routine, nutrition, and medicine i sleep way better now than i did as a teen, i struggled with insomnia a lot for years but now i'm able to go to bed at a normal time and wake up in the morning (no more sleeping at 4am and waking up at 2pm). though 90% of the time i need to be listening to something on my phone to fall asleep to, i sleep harder when i fall asleep to a long video not sure why lol6 -

Sleep... since retirement, I have adapted to my husband's night owl routine...at least as far as bedtime is concerned. It is the very rare occasion we are in bed before midnight. We still tend to get 7-8 hours of sleep given we get up later, too...BUT I am thrown off every now and then with a night where I'm up the entire night and finally go to bed about 6 AM. Talk about disrupting one's own circadian rhythm! That's LIFE.5 -
Yes,yes,yes. Walked today.
My sleep night amounts to a series of naps.6 -

Rose and I had a good catch up with each other today. We have been married for 46 years, and we still need to be intentional about talking with each other.
Exercise: I am happily fatigued from my big day of kayaking yesterday. I did 31 minutes of walking today
Calories: under by big margin
Tracking: good9 -
Date: 6/9/19
Exercised?: 45 minutes of yoga
Calories?: yes—within goal
Tracked?: yes—all
Sleep: My goal is to sleep at least 7.5 hours per night, but I averaged 6 hours and 43 minutes last week. It has been worse in prior weeks, but I can feel it starting to hit me later in the week. It truly does affect my memory, and that's not OK. In fact, I'm logging off now. Have a great night everyone (8:24 p.m. Pacific).8 -
Yes x 3 for Sunday
Under calories, thanks to a heat wave. Totally kills my appetite when its hot. Two more days till it cools down.7 -

Did I exercise for at least 20 minutes? Active rest day -- 2 mile walk this morning.
Did I stay within my calorie budget for the day? Yes and under
Did I keep track of everything I ate and drank? Yep!
Sleep is vital for me! Every week night (and usually on Friday nights as well since I have long runs on Saturday mornings) I am in bed by 9pm. I turn off all electronics (blue light can mess with your natural circadian rhythms, making your body feel like you should be up), I pop a melatonin gummy, and I read actual magazines. Depending on how tired I am, I'm usually out in 10-20 minutes. I get up at 5am every weekday, so need that sleep for my workouts and work day.
However, my husband and I do tend to go out very late on the weekends. Case in point, this weekend where I didn't get to bed until 3:30am this morning. LOL I think I'll be wishing I hadn't done that tomorrow morning when my alarm goes off as I definitely didn't catch up on my sleep today!6 -

Sleep - always try to aim for 7-8 hours. Last week one night it was only 5.5hrs and I could feel it by the 2pm the next day. I just try to remember that feeling and get to bed early.4 -
Yes, I am sleeping better at the moment, for some reason, feeling better for it!
Yes x 3 today, 120 min walk along the Angles way Uk across farmland, hay fever struck, atishooo!4 -
@fitphoenix
Lol my husband says I sleep like a good baby.
I also do not use an alarm clock but my husband does. We switched to a sunrise alarm which is a light that slowly brightens and mimics the sun. He gets up so easy now, no snooze, no awful beeping.
I can not say enough good things about this type of alarm clock.
DH works a swing shift so his sleep schedule is awful. Lol he also has a fan, a white noise machine and a sleep apnea machine -his nightstand looks like a hospital room but he gets good sleep!4 -
