Good Morning BBB.
Yesterday Tom and I worked most of the day so kayaking today. Getting up to 98 this afternoon so heading out early.
There were over 100 bikes yesterday for the escort of the sailors from Great Lakes Navel Base to the parade in our former home town. Awesome!!

Mornin' BBB.

Finally got the vegetable garden planted. Working in the sun and 80 degree weather I was getting really tired even though I was hydrating. Then I realized I needed coffee. Made myself a tall iced coffee and energy returned. Didn't realize I needed a fix.

In my hunt for pablano peppers, I found a serrano pepper plant and added that to my plantings. Any one have experience with serranos?

Rewarded myself (rewarding oneself with food is a symptom of a food addict) some killer bacon cheeseburgers last night. Smoked the burgers for about 20 mins with mesquite, then seared over fire. Med rare with cheddar cheese and grilled crisp bacon.

Steph, that is a little tent. As you drive through Tulsa (my hometown) you should get a view of the flooded Arkansas river.

Started off with a leisurely afternoon at the pool interrupted by an inattentive parent who let a toddler drop a dookie in the pool. That ended the day early and retreated home to watch baseball and grill burgers.... Scrubbed deck and pulled out cushions for furniture.

Calling pool guy today. We are going to step up our efforts, I think. I got a quote a few weeks ago - but I think we are going to pull the trigger. Hate crowded pools and the thought I am sitting in a warm toilet!

Raine, enjoy your kayaking! We're still waiting for it to get warm enough to take ours out. Jim rigged up this really cool pulley system in our garage to hang them, though ... it's pretty fancy. I do want it to be fairly warm when we go since it will be my first time, I'm a major clutz, and I expect to tip at least a couple times.

Dd27 just took dgd to school, so I get to babysit Alyson for a half hour. Woot! I can hear her starting to wake up a bit.

Had a great time hiking with Rita, yesterday. I always love it when she gets out with me. She hasn't been able to do as much, the last couple of years. It was beautiful hiking along a mountain river, through a forest so green it was like an alien planet (the forest moon of Endore?). Good times.

Using this off day to plant ds2's porch rail boxes. Maddie and I will visit too. Then some gardening at my house if rain holds off and not too wet yet from yesterday's showers. Cool here.

I've used serano in salsa and hot pork, Lee. They are hotter than jalapeno.

Nice short work week for me W-F woohoo.

Been up moving sprinkler, with this heat everything looks scorched

Our pool was so crowded over weekend did not try to go up there, will swim laps after workouts, about 9:30, grand kids can walk up and meet me;
Saw some really burnt folks yesterday afternoon
Skip, since you have the room I believe you will enjoy your own pool much better; when working I could go out and swim laps before getting ready for work; plus you only have to share with those you or DW invite.
Lisa, getting wet is part of the fun; and if water is too cold one tends to be more careful. Go after life more aggressively, enjoy before age catches up. How about a guy 100 still working out at gym two days a week and planning on moving to FL so he'll be on beach. Says he still needs to visit two more states before he dies.

DW will go get DMIL tomorrow, she is at DD's today, she left her phone at DSIL; DD does not have a house phone, DMIL cannot comprehend that she can't call anyone she wants without a phone while DD is at work. Went to neighbor and ask them to help her find phone.

Packing up the hotel (opened and cleaned all the camping gear as it will be in a steamy car for 4 more days). Headed to the altillary meusum now then make our way to Arkansas.

Will probably stop and see the flooding if we can get close enough. And have time. More thunderstorms rolling in mid afternoon and I want to be on the other side of them.

Glad you got a couples hike in. I love that you go alone but together is always nice too.

I have to put "mesh" on the outside of my fence (no big whoop) - the cover and the ancillary costs (landscape; electrical; permits) is what worries me most. We'll see.
