Starting stronglift do I need to use weights to warm up?

I was just wondering if it was absolutely necessary to use lighter weights to warm up before getting to the meat of the lifting? What I have been doing is a 15 minute HIIT workout to give me a little cardio and it really gets me warmed up and loosened up. I'm not having any problems with the lifts or squats yet but I'm only a week into the program. I've been working with a personal trainer for more then a year so I've been we'll schooled on proper technique and form.

Yes, you need to warm up. My warm-up before lifting is 5-10 minutes on an exercise bike--nothing strenuous at all, because I do not want to drain myself before lifting. HIIT before lifting should give you a general warm-up, but there is such a thing as specific warm-ups, which are just as important. Specific warm-ups prime your nervous system for the lifts and help prevent injury.

For the vast majority of women who are not lifting at a competitive level, every lift should start with an empty 45 lb bar (unless you are working with a lighter bar, which might be the case for upper body lifts). Then you add weights by dividing the difference between 45 lb and the work weight (the weight you do in 5x5 sets in SL or 3x5 sets in Starting Strength).
