Today's discussion opener question was suggested by @MadisonMolly2017
"What do you wish you had known when you were younger that you do know now?"3 -
I know now that I cannot change anyone else's behavior. It's as unusual victory to be able to change anything about myself. I would have been a more humble and forgiving person if I had learned those two things when I was younger.7

Wish I had known what a tiny spec in the universe that each life is. Perhaps I would have savored the journey more and not let fleeting moments pass by unnoticed.9

That we are all stronger than we think we are.
And for weight loss/maintenance: that it’s definitely possible to lose weight and keep it off!

The list is so long lol. The big one would be that loosing weight is possible and would help so much for the future. Oh and that guy, yeah that cute one there, he’s a jerk stay far far away from him.9

There are so many, but I'll list 2 today. 1) use sunscreen! I was a sun worshipper when I was in school and spent hours by the pool with no sun protection. Now I'm dealing with sun damage as well as many pre-cancerous spots removed. 2) Patience - with myself and others! Don't be in a rush to do everything that you think you 'should do' like get married and start a family. I LOVE my hubby and kids more than anything, but just wish I'd taken some time to live life on my own, get to know myself & travel before getting married.8

I wish I had known sooner that I wasn’t the deadbeat that my mother said I was. As children we automatically believe what the significant adults in our life tell us. Not all adults have our best interests at heart. It is fortunate that we don’t have to go on believing them in adulthood.

Yes i had one of those too... that said i was no good and i wouldnt amount to anything... thanks to my husband i now believe she was soooo wrong. Hes been my knight in shining armor.❤9 -

Did I exercise for at least 20 minutes? Yes, today was vacuuming and a couple of short walks outside with Annie.
Did I stay within my calorie budget for the day? Yes, only 2 calories left so the kitchen is closed. Less than 190 calories for dinner tonight because I ate too much junk with DH when we were watching a movie this afternoon. Poor choices but stayed on track.

An hour of kickboxing. Only ate back about 100 calories. Slowly working out of my maintenance month.

3x yes. Exercise was 2 hours of tennis, my first day back playing inter club. We tied. Great games. I’m very happy to be back.
I think I’d tell younger me that slow and steady dieting is a better plan than creating huge deficits exercising while eating very little. Not sure younger me would have listened though.8 -
I wish I had more knowledge years ago about taking better care of ones knees, healthier eating and habits
I did log today, went for a walk with the dog for at least 20 minutes and stayed under my goal7 -

At the top it said, " Good judgement comes from Experience."

That pretty much sums up the purpose of our youth... to gain experience.

I wish i would have truly understood nutrition, body requirements and the role of exercise. I thought i was healthy but i was SO out of line in so many ways.8 -

That not everyone has the best intentions. There people in the world who can be cruel and mean. But ... there are also amazingly wonderful people. I'd tell my younger self to concentrate on them!8 -

I wish I could have taught myself better nutrition and portion sizes so food wouldn't have always been a struggle. I also wish I could have taught myself to love running at a much younger age.7 -
