Emotional eating

I saw your new group, @bootayliiousx3 and it seems just the thing for me. I am undergoing multiple stressors of elderly parents' health issues, my own auto-immune health issues, PTSD from a workplace attack from a criminal. I usually eat low carb, but lately things have been getting out of hand with dairy (hunks of old cheddar mainly) which I have sensitivity to (celiac disease complication). Too much of this when I feel pressure/stress. You can see more on my profile - it's public. Thanks for letting me join. Hopefully you will do an intro post too, so we can support each other in the best ways possible. o:)

Thank you and I’m sorry to hear that! How do I speak to others on here?

Since you started the post you should be getting notifications when someone comments on the thread, or they can tag your name by using the "@ sign directly in front of your avatar name (like on Twitter). You can also continue the thread by commenting again like you did here, and if you want to draw someone's attention to the thread you can tag them in a comment if you know their avatar name, using the @".
Anyhow, fill me in on whatever issues you care to share and we can support each other thru the tough stuff.

I had a bit of a tough day today, lots of pain and not enough sleep. Couldn't help my Mom in law get to her doc, and she didn't remember what instructions he gave her (cognitive issues) so now I've got to contact him to get the info to help her out. Also Dad's results from an ultrasound came back and he does have some liver damage so we'll have to keep an eye on his enzymes. Managed to do a mock-up of patrol with Occupational Therapist tonight, but the whole day has been so stressful that I bought guacamole and hummous and ate them both with blue corn tortilla chips for a snack tonight. Tasty, but my-oh-my, NOT low in carbs. Having a tough time losing these extra 12 lbs or so. I have a wedding to attend in 2 weeks and I don't look so hot in my dress right now. I need to change that! Tomorrow will be a better day. (Dentist appointment for cleaning and check-up so I probably won't be doing a lot of eating before I get there, lol) Hope you are doing OK.

Hi @bootayliiousx3, how are you doing?

My Dad just had his cognitive assessment yesterday - the major one, not the 'quickie,' and he does have mild cognitive impairment. Scored 18 out of 33, anything below 23 is affected. Getting a Community Care Nurse to do an full assessment of what they need and putting their name on the wait list for our preferred Memory Care Facility. That will help ease my mind.

MIL seems to be doing OK right now and doc says nothing major came back from tests - he said it's possible she has newly developed gluten intolerance but I know she won't bother changing her diet, so that's that. We are taking her on a trip with us for her grandson's wedding (our nephew) and it's a 6 hour drive on this long weekend, so working on packing today. I've been doing OK foodwise, actually down a bit, enough to get back into my size 4's and a non-stretch tighter 6 jeans. The dress looks much better but I will still wear the Spanx because it just looks sleeker. Also taking a floor length gown in case I change my mind.
I will still need to watch what I eat/drink on this trip or I'll have to travel back naked, lol.
