Men: Do you shave your legs?

Why? Do you think it makes you appear more "serious" about cycling? Do you judge men who do or don't?
Just curious, and yeah, this board needs more action.

Brought to you by this picture a biker friend posted on facebook. At first I wasn't sure it if was a man or woman.
But after opening it, I'm pretty sure it's Sonya Looney and not my friend Eric.0 -
Just stopping by to say that I like man hair.0
-
Nooooooooooooope.0
-
No. I get the supposed benefits, but none of those benefits apply to me.
oh, and in for more action!

What are the supposed benefits? Just scabs and leg hair don't mix?0 -
Better aerodynamics
Easier wound care
More enjoyable massage0 -
Nope.
At the level I ride, the 0.0005% reduction in drag is simply not a factor.0 -
I thought it was just a tradition, kinda like hauling dead pine trees in your house every December?0

I hardly shave my face, much less my legs. :happy:0

Lol0 -
Yes. For years.
My legs take care of me and I take care of them. It is much easier without hair.
A masseuse is much appreciative of legs sans hair.0 -
When they can take it from my legs and transplant it back unto my forehead I might seriously consider it.
I keep joking that I don't shave my face often because I heard they can turn my face upside down in surgery to remove my bald spot.0 -
sorry I do not belong to he spandex crowd,0

Did last year, mainly because I was pretty much held together with kinesio tape, and with legs like a wool rug, it simply didn't stick.
This year, nope.0 -
I most certainly do.
1) It's more comfortable, (botth in cycling and running)
2) There's not much hair to begin with AND there's a large area on my right calf that is hairless, so I just finish the job.0 -
I did when I cycled TT for the clubs.
I may decide to when I start next year.
But now, no. I'm not that vain!0 -
I most certainly do.
1) It's more comfortable, (both in cycling and running)
Plus it makes my legs look sexy - vascular and muscles0 -

^^ This and yes I am that vain!0 -
I was hair-free for a period last year, then let it grow back...
Much better off TBH, but a faff to keep it off - I feel for you women!
P.S. Prefer hair removal cream to shaving :laugh:0 -
Never. I don't have much to begin with.0
-
Did when I was racing, but don't anymore...too much hassle.0
-
No. Never plan to. Not gonna happen.0
-
Personally, I don't. I have had a couple friends in the past that raced both road and mountain bikes, and they shaved. I was told it aids in the healing of road rash and also helps with those after race massages.
My guess is that you'd have to be a Sasquatch/Yeti to get the aerodynamic benefits.0 -

Hey now. Why you hating on spandex? Mountain bike racers wear spandex.0 -

I know they do. I have nothing against people (men) that wear them. To each there own. I personally would never be caught wearing them.0 -
For the endurance riding its way more comfortable to not wear baggies over the spandex. After 10hours+ in the saddle that extra layer of fabric between saddle and *kitten* can get fairly uncomfortable.
However there is nothing on this earth that will persuade me that I need to shave my legs. I reckon all problems that are supposedly solved by leg shaving can be solved by Rule 5. (and yes I deal with rule 33 the way it says too. )0 -
The best argument I've heard for shaving is that it's easier to clean and bandage a wound. I suppose that's true. But I am still not gonna do it.0
-
No, really don't see how it would benefit me.0
-
Yes...
It's sorta of expected more so for us roadies.
I burn 4-500 miles a month so yes I like showing it off.
My gear is functional! Keeps me cooler and makes me faster0
