This weeks challenge is a mix tape. Mix in some of your familiar with one or two new.
Offer up suggestions for all to try, and pull some from this thread and others.
Feel free to post goals and succeses on here. My goal is 15 minutes warm up cardio, 30 str. Than 30 finishing cardio.
I have yet figured out how I want to do my list whether it be 3 seprate playlists of differing push or one 1 &1/2 hour playlist and hope I position the songs in the best order for the progression of work out.

My suggestion is
Song:Survival
Group: muse
Album: the 2nd law
This is not the song I would introduce someone to the band, but I find it perfect for a gym mix. It's wonderfully cheesy in its win at all cost lyrics. Every once in a while it seems this band channels the late Freddie Mercury of Queen and this song is one of those. It is quite easy to get pumped up by this song so I put this in the middle to end of my workout. If I am running out of steam this is one of my go to songs. Spotify premium users and Sony unlimited users have access to this album with subscription. I'm am sure other music steaming sites as well. The song is also available on YouTube so you can preview it

You know, I love Muse, but only know a few of their songs. Am listening to "Survival" now on my youtube, and am Loving It!! Wow! I do hear some Freddie in there. Definitely gotta get that album now.
I'll be back with some suggestions for others to try out.

Ooh. I am such a radio freak. I love listening to the radio. So, I normally just go to the radio channel which plays the most dance songs (which in Toronto is Virgin Radio..or Kiss FM..)
I would absolutely love to make a 1 hour workout song playlist..but I'm such a procrastinator :S. Gonna try doing that very soon.
I should make that my goal for this week :P0 -

That is not even the song that most reminds me of Freddie Mercury
This song is called United States of Eurasia
If I didn't know this was a Muse song I would of been asking "who is this band who is blatantly ripping off Queens sound." It is not a bad workout song either

More suggestions
2+2=5 by radio head album hail to the theif
Warning video although animated contains scenes in which you might not want children present for
Awesomly Pink Floyd's the wall style but graphic nature all the same

Early 2000's I was into a group called sevendust, they were a bridge between bands like Korn and Incubis
They have a few songs that have a fast beat and the vocals are amazing. A bit to chaotic if I'm running to the beat but doesn't make bad strength training music

For biking or running, or anything in that realm I choose things with a driving beat, but it doesn't always have to be a techno style song. I prefer melodic songs and Hotel California specificly the live one on their Hell froze over album is one of my coasting songs.
The live version acoustic intro to the live performance sounds like what it would be like if you we traveling through a hill country and you had a soundtrack put to your day to day life. Very relaxing, I tend to space out time wise, anything to make the time fly by faster on a cardio machine the better

The same type of reason is why I sometimes throw in a non vocal guitar piece by black sabbath in my jog mix
This piece by black sabbath on the Vol 4 album is a nice reflection moment while on a run
Name of the song is: Laguna Sunrise

Like the last this one vocal free and is from master of reality

For a classical twist Igor Stravinsky's piece the Rite of spring
I like this piece for a lot of reasons it starts of light than pushes through out and it takes up 30 minutes. Perfect for 30 minutes on a stationary bike when after strength training

Those are just a few suggestions that I always have on different playlists to utilize when I disire them.0
