What do you eat?

1) Do you eat back calories burned for your total?

2) Do you eat more protein than usual (or more carbs)?

3) Are there certain foods you should eat either before or after a workout to maximize effectiveness?

I got my 30 Day Shred DVD from the library, so I don't know if it was supposed to come with any sort of nutrition guide.

  • 1. depends on how hungry i am, usually i try not to because it cut my loss x5
    2. im vegi - havent changed my diet since starting this though.
    3. just make sure its something light. really doesn't go well all the jumping around on a full stomach. usually i have some cereal or a homemade bananna milkshake before hand. 2x banana, 200 ml of semi skimmed and 2 scoops of vanilla ice cream.

i think it was loricoffeebean said there was one online but the only one i knew about was the extreame shed and shred one. and they havent modified it for vegis

I'm eating like a normally would. I do more exercise than just the shred so I do eat back some of my calories. I try and eat back no more than 50% but Iif I do I don't worry.
I eat back my calories because for me I need something that is sustainable. I love food, I'm a real foodie and if I start restricting myself I end up binging.

Yesterday I did a lot of exercise and by 9pm I was so hungry so I ate bananas and whole earth peanut butter. Quite calorific but good calories.

I haven't cut down on carbs because I find that when I do I end up craving them. I do try to eat foods rich in protein but I love pasta & potatoes.

I just don't eat 2 hours before a workout or I end up with a stitch. I'm not sure what foods are best to be honest x

Generally my fitness pal tells me something along the lines if I don't eat more then my body will go into starvation mode, so no I don't eat my calories back. I'm a eat to live kinda gal, not live to eat lol.

I was always so sore and so after some research and noticing I barely get any protein, I decided to invest in a good protein shake and wow has it made all the difference in how I feel. Muscle milk, chocolate the mix -tastes pretty good actually. Good enough to drink right after a workout ;)

I try to wait at least an hour after I've eaten just so I don't get sick.

Just log what you eat and you will start to see what you need and your body will tell you too.

I do the TDEE method and do not log calories burned. It was easier for me that way because it gave me a balance for the entire week.

I always lack protein and I read that helps your muscles rebuild themselves. What is the brand you use? Muscle Milk?
