We are fine. So far felt one big one and two little ones. No power to the whole island while the check the power station for damage.

Thankfully this apartment has a generator so our food will be ok. Don't really need AC so don't use too much unless we turn on the tv.

    Mornin' BBB.

IT geek didn't arrive until 4:30 pm. I guess he was the set up man. I went home around 5:30, leaving him my cell # in case he ran into any issues setting things up in old part of the building (circa 1897). Hopefully we will not walk into a *kitten* show this morning.

Glad you and Ron are OK, Steph. Too bad about the lighthouse.

Hang in there, Skip. Don't let those toasters get you down.

Good news. I did not gain over the holidays, but I did not lose either. That is a victory for me. Maybe I should get the flu every year during the holidays. Now to get down to losing.

    BBB OP ;-)

    Good morning BBB friends.
    • Glad to hear you are safe Steph. Hopefully the island will get power back soon.
    • Good luck with the Geeks Lee. Hopefully they won't get in the way too much.
    • Showing progress with the WL but as someone told me it is a marathon, not a sprint.
    • DW and I are off to Fort Gordon to check out the PX and Commissary. Should be interesting.

    Good morning, folks.

I found a running club nearish the place, so I went and joined them last night. About 20 people, but not very friendly. Nobody said hi or inquired about pace, etc. I quickly fell behind the group because I'm not in running shape (I don't run between November and April). New area and no night-time running gear, so when I lost them, I turned back the way I came.

But, it was January and I was running outside, so there's that.

    Good Morning BBB

Maybe there's a more welcoming group Lou?

Im knee deep in trade show prep for Orlando, ugghhh Did I mention I don't want to go? Oh well, I'll suck it up.

Enjoy Ft. Gordon, let us know what treasurers are found in PX Dennis

Hang tight Steph, hope you have a good book and well we know you have good company.

Hopefully Lee is all hooked up and ready to roll into the new software with no troubles.

Found out our $85Mil school ref that passed in 2018 for high school rec center completed in 2019 and for our $800/annual property tax increase gets us some resident use of the new digs, i.e. new pool, outdoor and indoor track and fitness center, lockers/showers for $2 a time, not bad. Hours for resident use are pretty limited, but still, at least its available. We may check it out soon.

Congrats Kelly again on DS2's IU news. We toured IU and ds1 applied and got accepted there prior to choosing Ohio State back in 2004, nice campus, historic beautiful bldgs, beautiful campus from what I recall.

Sam, did the cane make good firewood yet? :)

    Have a great day BBB!

    Good morning BBB crew.

In a couple months you'll only want to run at night, in Texas, Lou. The heat and humidity are pretty intense. In all, I spent seven years at Fort Hood, about an hour north of you. If you drive way out on the back roads in the Hill Country, you can find real Texans, who are much friendlier than the transplants who populate the cities.

Rita and I have been getting out for walks every day, despite the rotten weather.

I hope the PX and commissary aren't a big disappointment, Dennis. We are pretty selective on what we buy at either one. The PX will match off-post prices and you don't have to pay local and state sales taxes, so it is a good deal for expensive purchases, like TVs. For lots of other things, you can do better off post. I might try pulling out my VA card next time I drive on-post, rather than my retiree ID, just to see whether the gate guards give me a hassle.

Good for you Steph. Dave is right about running in Houston. My son survived the Houston marathon but I don't know how.
Stay warm and cozy all. Well except the Folks in Puerto Rico climes. Cold and rainy here with maybe upwards of 1-3" of snow coming in a week or so.

Cane has gone downstairs because she knew making firewood was not an idle threat
DW cleaning range hood filters, DMIL tries telling her how she should do it; says book said to put in dishwasher; DW pulls file on hood and proceeds cleaning per manual, DMIL comes up with some pamphlet that came in junk mail trying to get her to buy book on cleaning; can't get her to stop piling up clutter, what makes her believe she knows how to clean. Yesterday at lunch she said she wanted to clean kitchen; it did not include wiping table, sweeping kitchen or under table, wiping stove top or knobs, nor wiping counter tops.
Steph, glad you and Ron are safe
Dennis, look at trip to Ft. Gordon as a road trip; I worked at PX in '68 and "69 Ft. McPherson then there were a few advantages; believe you'll find warehouse clubs better deals, we just don't have any close by. Neighbors tell me commissary not worth trip, but if going anyway why not stop by.
Tops of trees had ice on them this morning from cold and light rain, 50's now
Lou, hang in there it takes many seeing someone several times before accepting
