This post is in praise of sweaty exercise. I don't take cardio/strength exercises for granted any more. For the last 1.5 years, either my lumbar spine issues or my asthma conspire to limit my ability to do cardio/strength exercises. So, yesterday, when I was able to do 40 minutes of fast treadmill walking with intervals of push-ups and lat pull downs, I felt great.
Most days, I walk and do active stretches, but it sure is nice when I can push my muscles and my heart rate.
I hope you get some sweaty exercise at least once in a while. Some of you do it every day. Don't take it for granted.
Rick

Hi there folks, day 13 completed with room to spare. 30 mins of exercise completed before going to work this morning, plus walking around the site for an hour or so this afternoon. I do like to do some form of exercise everyday, in fact i can get quite grumpy if don't exercise for 3 or 4 days! but hasn't happened this month. Favourite forms of exercise for me are: running & trail running, road & trail cycling, swimming, weight training ( nothing too heavy but just lots of reps), at my age (not 21 any more) - you have take it a bit easy! Enjoy life !9

Taking an intentional pass day today.
Had appointment with psychologist. Finally taking steps to work on my mental health (which is not in good shape - unlike my physical health). Was only an initial consultation so finding the basis to work from. More time and information required to start on a diagnosis and/or a treatment plan. Next appointment in 3 weeks. Still, hard to describe the whirlwind of thoughts I am experiencing.
Also found out a good friend from the past lost their battle with cancer a few days ago (hours after the appointment). Sorry to hear the news. Passed best wishes on to the family.
Hopefully I can juggle work commitments to make the memorial service next week to pay respects.
Will see what tomorrow brings.13 -

Be sure to give the sessions time. It took me several months to really feel comfortable with my psychiatrist and be completely open and honest with her. My mental health had hit rock bottom and I am now able to truly appreciate what my psychiatrist has done to help me be a better and stronger person!8 -
So sorry for your loss, @craigo3154. Glad you're finding some help with your mental health issues. Hopefully you can partner with a treatment plan that will work well for you. So tough to deal with.5

I almost took a pass day, but had I done that? I’m fairly certain I would not have closed all of my rings.i spent most of my day either in the care or medical waiting rooms, so my rings were waaaay behind, and by noon it was reminding me that my activity was normally further ahead at that time, which just made me feel some kind of way. 🤨
I did get the headset on and box and climb for about 50 minutes until my rings closed.
I came in waaaay too far under calorie goal, as my stomach has had a case of nerves. I had a 750 calorie lunch, drank all the water. Two days running of not eating enough and I’m really feeling it.
Tracked everything.
Passes left 3️⃣.
Tomorrow is another day. 🤷♀️7 -
@RangerRickL, I completely understand the dictates of our body deciding what kind of exercise we can do. I think as long as we keep doing "something" we're ahead of the game. I'm normally a sweaty workout gal but lately because of a complicated hip and vertigo I've kind of had to adjust my time and effort working out. This group has helped me not give up though, so thank you for that!
@craigo3154, I sincerely hope that your work with the psychologist brings you both clarity and peace of mind. I am also very sorry about the loss of your friend.
I spent last night in my husband's recliner trying to keep my head upright all night as part of my vertigo therapy. Binged on Netflix and drifted in and out of sleep............I'm pretty tired today but have one more night of being upright...............uggghhhh, the things we do to get well.

3x’s yes.
I’ve been pretty beat this last week with a cold and not really into checking in beyond the minimum.
Today’s topic of exercise is one that I embrace whole heartedly. It makes me a little sad that I spent so many years unable or unwilling to exercise. I’m a total workout junkie now and do about 1-3 hours every single day. Especially during the winter when I have a pretty light schedule (I have a small gardening business that keeps me moving spring-summer-fall). I find complete joy in seeing what my body is capable of and continuing to push further and further. My fitness goals continue to expand.7 -

Good job.
So true that we are all lucky enough to be able to move and be active. That’s what it’s all about! 👍

Did I exercise for at least 20 minutes? 1.5 mile treadmill run + 44 minutes barre strength this morning
Did I stay within my calorie budget for the day? Yes and under
Did I keep track of everything I ate and drank? Yep!5 -
Exercise? Uh-huh. Hung out with my friend today but we didn't do our normal active thing. I came home at 4 and thought that I would just have to take a pass because tonight was book club. Then I started reading the forum thread about everyone working out during their lunch hour. And I thought, geez how lazy I'm being, I totally have time to jump on my treadmill before making dinner. So, a 30 minute treadmill win!
Within my calorie budget? Okay. Low again. Every time I complete my diary and the 5 week weight is below the bottom of my maintenance range, I know I still need to work on getting more calories.
Tracked everything? Yeppers.6 -
Good day today.
Exercise was mild with 23 minutes of active stretching

Exercise: Y 21K steps
Calories: Y 2290/1800+1090 exercise calories
Tracked: Y
So I had already logged about 11K steps from midnight until I got home this morning, but for some reason was exceptionally hungry and started to eat which I normally avoid. Next thing I know I have knocked out 1000 calories. I managed to stop before it got any worse, but thought this might be my last allotted pass day. Anyway I had to take my younger son to his chess class this afternoon so In the meantime I stopped at the Y to get some more exercise calories in an attempt to salvage the day. Ended up setting a personal best for distance with a 3.25 mile uninterrupted run on the treadmill. I just turned 55 on Monday and really don’t like distance running, but decided to run a 5K in June....now I know I can do it..that’s my sweat story for today and BTW I left 600 exercise calories on the table.6 -
Yes x 3 in a comfortable margin.
