Holy Moly! Morning After Day 1!

I finished Day one yesterday and my legs and arms are so sore today I almost fell down a couple times. Just sitting on my couch is PAINFUL, lol.
Wasn't sure I was going to make it up the stairs at work....

But BOY DOES IT FEEL GOOD! Love the soreness and feeling like I actually worked my muscles instead of a bazillion reps with tiny weights!

Now I just hope I can recover enough to make it through my next workout tomorrow! So glad I found this group!

Well done!!! Are you getting enough protein? That should help your muscles out some I'd guess.

Trying my best on the protein! Got 98 grams today. That is a lot for what I normally get. Really trying to focus on my water too! I need to stretch more next time as well.

Just so glad to be here !

Soreness will get better soon. I don't get as excited about soreness as some people--for me, what matters is progress on the lifts, which does not correlate with soreness very well. Eat plenty, make sure to warm up well before you lift, and work that "intelligent edge"--just enough to challenge yourself but not enough to get hurt.

Yes make sure you are getting enough protein, especially right after the workout. Don't stretch before lifting as you will fatigue your muscles.

    That's awesome!!!

Walking after a lift session always helps my soreness. The worst thing to do is to lift and then go sit around, though that's what I usually WANT to do!

I remember my first weight lifting session. I seriously contemplated standing up to pee. On a brighter note, usually after session 2 or 3 the DOMS was no longer a problem. I still get a little soreness from time to time especially if I don't stretch proper afterwards, but it is nothing like that first time.

I second the suggestion on getting plenty of protein. And yes plenty of water. Those used muscles love the water and the protein.

I had to grab onto the sink and/or tub for help up and down depending on what bathroom it was. Then I somehow squatted again after a day of rest, yet had a hard time walking out of the gym. It does get better!

I can totally relate! If I could pee standing I would!

I did get on the stationary bike after I lifted, but didn't spend much time stretching... that was probably my downfall! I have been doing squats but was out for a week with strep. I upped my weight to 90# and was REALLY feeling it. I am still sore! But I had no issue doing the 5x5's at 90#'s so I don't think I should back off, right?

Thanks for all the suggestions! Glad I'm not alone!

don't back off, make sure you are getting to parallel, and don't skip the stretching! :)
