I awakened at 2:30 this morning. Not quite fully awake, but enough not to be able to fall back asleep. Decided what the heck just get up and get moving. I think subconsciously my mind is a little worked up planning my stock up outing. Today will be my second outing in 11 (yes, 11) days. There is just too much planning to make sure everything is on the list, timing of stops based upon when the stores open, staying safe while out and staying safe once I get home. For now this is our new norm and eventually it will be rote.
Here are the first things coming to mind this morning for my gratefulness list. Some are a little silly.- I am grateful for another day on this planet called earth.
- I am grateful to work for a solid company where I will remain gainfully employed and will continue to get my salary direct deposited.
- I am grateful for my boss who is allowing me to take a few hours away from the laptop this morning to get stocked up.
- I am grateful the county I live in finally put in a shelter in place order.
- I am grateful for all of those who are sheltering in place without an order.
- I am grateful to have slept until 2:30 am. I could have been up since midnight.
- I am grateful for the technology that allows me to virtually shop, add a ton of things to my cart, and then delete it.
- I am grateful for Smokey the Cat who is more than happy to roam the house with me regardless of the hour of night (morning).
- I am grateful for the support of the MFP community.
Hugs to all and prayers for those in need.8 -
"Sometimes Sorta-Silly" is an EXCELLENT coping strategy! Apply it regularly! I do.6

For those of you who haven't stumbled on this "tec trick" yet ..........
P.S. I accidentally posted this in yesterday's date. Losing track of which day is which with the waiting, lengthy time indoors with no hard deadlines.
At least the daily-change-subthread format of UAC can help with that! .... maybe star only two or three days in a row, and every day remove the star from the earliest after you post?
Yes agree! Good idea but I like reading the tardy people too...
in which case ..... use stars to jump you to the current days, then click on the Main UAC banner (at the top of each daily thread) and then on "show all discussions" to see if any new entries on UNstarred subthreads.4 -

Exercised: Yes (7.5 km walk in 67 mins - hills)
Tracked: Yes
Budget: Yes
Challenging walk again. Less people today, only saw 8 the entire walk.
Daughter is now in care for a week. Hopefully this gives her support. It should also give my wife a break.
Had a win for me today in the literal sense. Won US$450 by placing high enough in leaderboards on the 2020 DRL (Drone Race League) Tournament. 8th in the Asia/Pacific region and 15th on the "rookie" list. This will help pay for some more drone parts when it comes through. Ended up ranked 102 in the world (out of over 2000 entrants, but that does not have any prize money associated with it).10 -
@RangerRickL I'm so pleased you made it safely and that you drove - I was worried about you flying.
@craigo3154 I'm so sorry you're still suffering but pleased you're getting help.
Yes x 3 for today and yesterday.
At the start of the month I was so focused. I was sure that this was the first month of many that I'd be in the winner's circle. Ha - I'm not this month but I'm going to keep on keeping on. Also, at the start of the month I hoped I'd be sharing some other good news by the end of the month. And luckily that one I can stick to - my baby is now 9 months old and I am now just under the weight I was at the start of my pregnancy. 9 months on 9 months off! I still have more to lose but it's going in the right direction. This has been one of my worst weeks. I wasn't going to share but find myself starting to type it. Don't read on if you're feeling vulnerable or stressed about coronavirus.
My baby has been very unwell and it was really hard to get any treatment for him. In the end I had to speak to a doctor on the phone on Monday Tuesday and Wednesday about him after long waits each time. In normal times, he would have been seen and they've agreed they'd probably have given him Antibiotics but these aren't normal times. They won't see patients until you're critical at the moment. Finally today, his temp has been mostly normal with fewer fevers. Theyve said it's suspected covid 19 but here they don't test you unless you're hospitalised. Or a celebrity. Or a politician.
Meanwhile my dad is another suspected case and I can't see him or my mum as we're all in lock down. It's been a nightmare not being able to go and help them. In the end yesterday in desperation I also spoke to his doctor who was able to sort out trying another type of medication as he's been deteriorating and my mum was so overwhelmed and despairing that it's made her in a muddle and confused. I was able to drop the medicine off and today he was still very ill but less confused than he has been and ate for the first time in 3 days. It's such an awful situation. I'm hoping for better news tomorrow.
Stay safe everyone.10 -

Michelle,
In times past I would use my phone, but now it's not best practice. I'm not even carrying a purse. My debit card is is a ziploc bag and my phone is left in the car and not touched until my hands are sanitized. Hopefully you're frequently sanitizing your phone.

Did I stay within my calorie budget for the day? Yes

yes x's 2 - but very over on calories - ate dinner with my son and talked over stressors and such...and reconnected...could have done it w/out the extra calories...just let it go. Starting new workout program tonight - rejoined a workout studio that has put out pre-recorded workouts and will have some live events as well... I think that will help with my mental attitude. May God bless each of you.4

Did I exercise for at least 20 minutes? Yes, did 50 min of weight training at the gym. However got bad news later in the afternoon, the governor closed down all the gyms in Utah, there were only 2 left open. Oh well, I guess it was inevitable. Back to hiking and biking unless I can figure a work around.

I made it. Thought I was going to have to take a pass, as I was eating my feelings, but fortunately my stress kicked in and saved me.I has a mtg with HR Thursday morning because I knew I needed to slash hours for my team. The first couple of weeks everyone wanted to leave early or stay home. This week? *kitten* got real and people fought tooth and nail to stay at work. When my right-hand person handed me my butt on a platter Wednesday afternoon? I got home and I texted my boss and told him I wanted to go down to 32 hours a week and wanted to keep him in the loop. He is also the Emergency Prep guy and he’s going on his third week with no time off because he is still in mitigation mode. It was under his direction that I met with HR.
We cut hours back to 30/wk. I had to re-do entire schedules for a team of 16; three 8 hour days and one 6 hour days. Team was not impressed, although a handful had my back and supported me. I’m considered essential, so my days have been running from 9-10/day, an working Sunday and may have to go in Saturday(today). I’m salaried and don’t get overtime, so they are getting their money’s worth out of me this past couple of weeks. 😂 I’ve been helping my team file for unemployment, because in our state, they can do that, now. Some of my team is now in float pool to temp scan employees coming in for 12 hour shifts.
We have over 800 cases in the state, four deaths, and one positive in our facility. Governor is imposing a stay-at-home rule effective Monday at 5 pm.
I am mentally falling apart. We were supposed to see our therapist last Monday, but that was cancelled, along with our hair appointments, lol. Leadership is in the same boat. We are all tired, stressed and dealing with angry and scared teammates.
At the same time? The entire facility has come to realize we are all in this together, save a few of my sour grapes.
Exercised 20 minutes? Yes. Tons of walking today, I got 40 deliberate minutes logged. Too tired to VR.
Logged everything? Yes.
Stayed under calorie goal? Yes.
Hang in there, everyone! 💜💙💚💛🧡❤️5 -
@SuziQ113 After reading about people stealing from each other's carts and someone being held up and having her groceries stolen outside a store then pictures of empty stores I barely slept before I went to the store last week. It wasn't like I expected at all, thank goodess! I think because getting what we need isn't secure like it used to be it causes a lot of anxiety.
@craigo3154 Prayers for your daughter. Congratulations on your placement!
Did I exercise for at least 20 minutes? Yes, You Tube videos, walking/dancing, yoga. Still trying to figure out my Fitbit, I did the same workout I did yesterday and was just 2000 steps less but yesterday's adjustment was 150 calories and today's was over 1000, what the heck?
Did I stay within my calorie budget for the day? Yep!
Did I keep track of everything I ate and drank? Yes
