Did I exercise for at least 20 minutes?
Did I stay within my calorie budget for the day?
Did I keep track of everything I ate and drank?

@oldDogBiking aka Bob usually posts the most stunning photos of his New Mexico off/road bike climbs. Rose and I hike in the neighboring state of Arizona. Yesterday, the heat had risen to the post spring temperatures of 85 degrees F or 29.4 C.
That means that certain wildlife reappears in and around the desert trails.
My wife, Rose, found a new mascot but he did not appreciate her attention.4 -

After about 5 minutes, this angry rattlesnake finally decided to leave the trail. If you look close in the sand you can see the original path he had made as he initially was crossing the trail

I hope you had a rattlesnake free day!10

@RangerRickL so "Yesterday, the heat had risen to the post spring temperatures of 85 degrees F or 29.4 C." in Arizona, and the rattlesnakes were out, were they?
No rattle snakes here ... did I mention how it was SNOWING again yesterday? (grumble grumble grumble)9 -
I don't have any good pictures of that. I gotta admit one time I stumbled into a convention of those guys. It was springtime and they were kind of sluggish but everywhere I looked there was one. I like to think I am somewhat astute when it comes to outdoors but I still get a creepy dream every now and then reminding me of that "convention."
(Heh! I ate one once. That was weird.)8 -
@oldDogBiking I LOVE your pictures, biking and Buddy stories!
@RangerRickL Please keep hiking and posting Arizona pics. It's a world of wonders to me here in France!
@BMcC9 We've got flooded streets here!7 -

You town is pretty!!! You should post some pics too!4 -
@RangerRickL - I have never been blessed with coming across an actual rattler in the wild. He/she seems a little upset the sunning session was curtailed by human activity. Thank you for sharing the pics.4

Wow @RangerRickL ! Pretty scary! I do not like snakes that much! lol.

The Covid virus is nothing to sneeze at.
I usually do not become frightened when “its just a virus” but this one hit pretty hard.
Thank God, I don’t get sick too often. I have not taken an antibiotic for over 35 years
One more thing I forgot to mention.
TASTE! I had very little symptoms at the beginning. A little cough, low grade fever.
No problem.
Then whammo!
NO TASTE! Everything was HYPER sweet or hyper salty or just tasted terrible.
One or two bites at the most even if was the best dessert in the world was placed in front of me.
This lead to very low calories every day (600 at most), then to dehydration (I really tried to drink water), which lead to weakness, which lead too passing out and needing 2 liters of IV bolus wide open.
I thought about the hydroxycholoriquine but could not justify the bad side effects and since I was not on a ventilator (came close). I deferred.
What helped was an antibiotic at the end because enough was enough and I got pneumonia and hypoxic.
Lesson learned: Wash your hands, antiviral/bacterial hand lotion is your friend in these times. Don’t assume the other person has a “cold” because you cant tell. Protect grammas and grandpas who are the most vulnerable. Viral infections can be deadly.
Get the FLU shot next year because flu kills more than the Covid despite an available vaccine.
Still no formal exercise for almost a month now.
Taste is coming back. Strength is coming back.
I am trying to make up the weight loss. I upped the calories with emphasis on TASTE and health.
All I can do for now is to sit on the sidelines and be a cheerleader?
Trying not to give in to fast food even with the lockdown.
An occasional home made egg mcmuffin with cheese and Canadian bacon tastes so GOOD and is hitting the spot.
A 900 calorie per serving peanut butter shake sits in the freezer as reminder that all this happened.
I am not used to eating almost a 1000 calorie breakfast.
This morning 900 with emphasis on health and TASTE! Thank goodness I am getting my taste back
I hope they find a vaccine soon or this will start all over again next year.
Have a great day.

@BMcC9 We've got flooded streets here!
What caused the flood?1 -
@BMcC9 Three days of heavy rain. This is a southern French city, so we only get this kind of rain twice a year for a few days: spring and autumn. The rest of the year it's mainly warm and dry and it was never thought an economic or financial priority to structure things differently. Only a few people died, no one built on a flood plain, damages were refunded by the government and / or insurance companies. During the eighties and nineties a lot of concrete building went on, without adequate drainage. Fortunately nowadays thinking has changed and much more green space gets planned, so the rains drain off. There is a lot of 'Green' thinking and planning now.
My apartment is not too affected. We used to get a lot of water down in our basements, but we've made a lot of improvements to minimise or even stop this. I'll have to go and have a look tomorrow. My worst fear is rats: had one popping up its ugly head one year and I have a real rat-phobia. Give me a snake any time!

Came in early to encourage those who are past 3 Pass Days to Keep Logging! I’m coming up on 2 years of logging daily in UAC. I log whether things go well or not. The reason: every other time I lost weight I gained it back. It simply slipped my mind & I blinked & had regained 50-70lbs.
NOT THIS TIME.
I spent 39 months losing weight. Many times each day I’d exclaim to myself, “This is too painful; I’m NEVER doing this again.”
The secret for me is keeping my head “IN THE GAME!”
UAC posting does that for me along with my colorful trackers.
Now it won’t just “slip my mind.”
Besides, we’d miss you too much if you didn’t post!! 💕👏🦋

Late walk. Finished just before dark.
After dinner did some online drone race practice, but then forgot to post here. Sorry for the late post.
@RangerRickL No rattlesnakes here in Australia.
We can get black snakes and brown snakes where I am (which are as deadly as rattlers, but silent). Fortunately, the kookaburras keep the snake population down and I have not seen one personally in 20 years here (friends have though, so they are around, just uncommon). This is also why we encourage the kookaburras.
Most Australian snakes are highly venomous.5 -
Yes x 3.
I mistakenly posted my daily post at the end of yesterday. That happens sometimes, because when I log in, I go back and read yesterday's posts that came in after I logged in.

Second no-alcohol day this week which is good for me considering quarantine habits... Though it meant I filled that calorie gap with chips haha. But stayed under and did 25 min home workout. Today was arms/upper/core day.9
