April 18
Exercised: Yes (4km in 32 mins - hills)
Tracked: Yes
Budget: No (but intentional)
Shorter walk interrupted by a phone call.
Phone call was from the person who was best man at my wedding. Was good to catch up. They had heard about my eye and the tough time I have been having and called to check if I was OK. Connections are so important.

The Google Doodle of the day cycles through thanking groups of all the helper professions they have been thanking individually.
And if you haven't seen them for yourself ... every one of the helpers has been the "e" and masked ... thanked at a distance by a heart blown by the "G" at the far opposite end and everything in between is static.10 -
Today's going to be an intentional pass day (pass #2) as it's my husband's birthday. I'm still planning on my 45 minute calisthenics Saturday workout and probably won't be terribly over on calories (just medium over) but I won't be tracking today because I want to feel like I'm enjoying celebrating with my husband rather than counting and making decisions based on my food diary.
This morning was a homemade quiche and fresh-ground coffee for breakfast (see photo below) and I currently have dough for oatmeal bread on its first rise...

Exercise: an hour walk and 300 minutes disinfecting the public areas of my workplace because of the virus (and no, I'm not a janitor/maintenance person). I hope the medical researchers find something soon. This is too much.
Calories: way under, plus Panera gave me a free dinner because I go through the takeout so much -- that was very nice and unexpected.
Tracked: yes
@cjane917 great photo, looks like a delicious meal

3 yeses, I did a long hike, walked for almost 4 1/2 hours and gained over 1,700 ft (535 m) elevation. My biggest walk to date, it felt good. A couple of pictures along the way.
Looking down to my house in the white circle (walk starting point) and up to the mountain I have not yet climbed, another day...

April 18:
114 years ago? The San Francisco earthquake,
56 years ago, my parents got married. This would have been their anniversary, had they not divorced after 28 years of marriage.
49 years ago, my paternal grandfather passed away.
Today? We had date day: getting gas and filling my car up for $20.20. Also went to our local Walmart and saw the line to get into the Petrie dish of Wayne County. All the nopes! Went to Harris Teeter, where we spent a bit more, but their clientele were totally down with social distancing. We will be going there, from now on. 🤣
That said? Yes x 3. My exercise was walking at a very brisk pace through the grocery store and unloading the 20+ pound bags of cat and dog food, case of bottled water, etc.
Calories under and logged every bite!11 -
Exercise - kind of not reallyLittle Buddy came over today.
That is always a sublime joy.
We went out for a stroll, him in his wheelchair initially.
We went past the gym.
It's been closed for a few weeks, you know how that is.
But every time I ever go by there there are a couple of three cars in the parking lot positioned like wheel spokes but with their "tailgates" facing in like maybe how you would back in to a campfire on the beach.
People sitting in folding chairs facing what might be a virtual campfire.
But it is early. I don't get what they are doing.
Me and Buddy, curious as we are, we don't trouble them none.
But we circle around to the park. We get there more or less the same time as those couple of teens that are getting personalized basketball coaching. There is a man and a woman that is coaching a girl and a boy.
It is kind of cool to see.
They look like private school people. They come from that prep school down the road I bet.
I stand Buddy out of his wheelchair. I want him to walk around some. We walk on the grass for a while. Walking on grass is a bit more challenging to him as opposed to a flat smooth surface like a sidewalk. We go on the sidewalk for a bit as well.
He has trouble crossing from sidewalk to grass and vice versa. He sees that contrast and isn't sure if there is some depth to it right there. He always hesitates on stepping across there. I put my foot across the interface and tell him "look, see where my foot is."
I like going to the park with Buddy. He likes going outside.
We go home. Middle of the afternoon is bath time. Taking a bath is his favorite pastime.
I give him a couple of warmups before I decide I got to be the heavy and pull him out of there.
I soap him up, wash his hair and stuff. Pull the plug. The water drains. That little boy will play with the water until every drop of it is gone. The lower the level gets the more fun it is to swish it around and up the sides of the tub.
But hey, here is me not obsessing over my climb numbers. Tomorrow is climb day. I will get 2,000.
I was looking in Google for a guy name of Ned Overend. He is a guy that used to win a lot of bike races around here. He is like 3 years younger than me. So it might be a while before I catch up to him. But I seen where he is riding his bike a couple of days ago.
He is doing 4,000 of climb. Ack. He ain't doing no wimpy 2,000 foot climbs.
I ought to put a picture of that. I hang out near there in the summertime. These days I am kind of thinking I'd rather hang out with Buddy.
I'll also put a picture of a meadow of skunk cabbage. Thinking about summertime. Maybe me an Buddy will go camping.8 -
Did I exercise for at least 20 minutes? 5 mile run outside this morning. For the past 5 years I always run the exact same route around my neighborhood. Today I tried a new route and wow, it was fun! LOL I need to do that more often.
Did I stay within my calorie budget for the day? Yes and under
Did I keep track of everything I ate and drank? Yep!7 -
Ate way to much today. Will start fresh tomorrow6

@alligatorob fabulous photos. You live in a wonderful area with access to a walk like that.
@oldDogBiking Sounds like a great day with Buddy, the best kind of day. Great photos. That looks like a field of Queen Anne's lace flowers, but nope, the leaves and your note say it's skunk cabbage.

@Hollis100 You are very welcome. I am so grateful to be have a place away from my home to isolate for a long time. I have grown to love the desert.
@alligatorob Thanks for your mountain photos. Where are you with the snow on those mountains?3 -

Calories: under thanks to lots of exercise

Yes x's 3, 2 passes left.
My day started with a zoom Zumba class, successfully took my robot vac apart sitting outside , figured out what online vids could not tell me...and it works! Let's not talk about my procrastination on my taxes... ha! Gorgeous weather. Made cookies for my sons, but I might throw them out...kind of tempted... My son and I walked the dog... spent alot of time trying to reach the unemployment folks, but no worries, there's always tomorrow after church. Here is to you and your focus on health!6 -
Kind of took a day off everything, news, chores, social media, social calls, exercising, cooking, knitting, jigsaw puzzle, and spent the day reading thrillers lying on my bed, occasionally glancing at the grey day outside. I didn't have any appetite so I was way under calories, but I didn't go out for a walk either. I did log this morning though. I do feel better for the time out, enjoying my morning coffee and planning a few things I want to do today.8
