Day 10
Debating about calling it a pass day.
I guess if there is doubt it must be a pass day.
I always got this internal dialog thing going on about work vs. exercise.Taking care of Buddy, that little guy is getting heavy. He is not really ambulatory. He can kind of walk if I give him a balance supplement by either holding a clump of his shirt in the back or he will hold my right index finger with his right hand. Sometimes both. I have to stand him up. That is the work part. We been like that for years now.
I didn't go out for a climb so my 200 foot deficit is kind of locked in now. my goal is to keep an average of 1,000 per day. I will still end up with a good month of climb.
Took Buddy to the park. He likes going outside.
I ask him if he wants to watch kids playing baskets on the basket court.
We go over there. I stand him out of his wheelchair and we walk around for a few steps.
He lets out with this loud squeaky, squealy, laugh.
Guys on the court pause and look to see what that was.
They see a happy boy watching them play.
They are a couple of pairs of teenagers getting one on one basketball coaching from adult coaches whose real jobs either evaporated or are on hold.
Now they in the park living their coaching dream.
One paused kid looks over at us smiling "how's it going?"
Intuitively I figure that kid growing up to be a helper.
But coaching, I guess me and Buddy is one on one coaching.
Maybe his laugh expressed the realization of that.
A good day at the park.7 -

It was truly a good day...and a "Good Friday" for so many reasons.
My eldest son took me to a fave trail of his to walk...and it was nice to have a change of location.
Missing family...like so many...
focusing on positive things and blessings....
juliemouse - keep on rocking it... you are blessing so many with your efforts and I will pray for your safety
So many times I start to share things with you guys...but decide against it. ;D Wishing you all a truly blessed day!5 -

Created a schedule for the new Adidas Training app I downloaded a few days ago. I'm planning to have Mon-Wed-Fri be 25 min workouts, Sat be 40, and Sun-Tues-Thurs be 10 min stretching. I'm really liking the app so far-- it's motivating but still pretty simple and easy to follow.4 -

I start to share and then delete it all. I just can’t today.
I miss my grandchildren, daughter and son in law in Texas. My grandson (now 4 1/2) had heart surgery at 3 weeks old and couldn’t go to daycare so I lived down there for a year. Then my granddaughter (now 20 months) was born during the measles outbreak and again I lived down there for a year until her first birthday and vaccinations. I am thankful that I have a profession where I can work remotely and was able to schedule work face to face things during trips back home. But I have never gone more than 5 weeks without seeing them. When I had to fly back home for my infusions, my grandson would fly up and back with me. Since then, every other month I have been flying down to get him and then fly him back home after a week or so. Now I don’t know when I will see them again. It’s been since February. They FaceTime all the time and he keeps asking when I’m coming and that he misses me. It’s breaking my heart.
I have to acknowledge my sadness. I am sad. And angry. And frustrated. And, above all, very very sad. There it is.
I am trying to keep my mind and body busy. I just did 2 1/2 hours of picking up wet, decaying, yucky leaves with a pitchfork and my tractor. For 2 1/2 hours, life seemed normal again.7 -
