Don't give in to the pressures of the times.
Look past the near term obstacles and create a way for your own mental refuge.

I'm all behind this quote if we're talking about our mental well-being. In general, I've too often hurt my mental health by trying to find a way when, quite honestly, there wasn't one. I am a great believer in the Serenity Prayer: God grant me the courage to change the things I can, the serenity to accept the things I can't, and the wisdom to know the difference.10

I'm declaring this a pass day. Morning run with my housemate, so I ran 5km instead of my usual 4km (getting her up before sunrise deserves something from me...) Busy and active day at work, including two swims with the puppies (and nose kisses from the baby!) Stopped at the shop on the way home to buy cream (housemate's new boyfriend coming over tomorrow and I promised to make my famous ice cream) and made bad choices. Evening Jiu JItsu on Zoom and our killer yoga core session before supper.
So, apart from the few bad items I got at the shop, it wasn't a bad day. I would be under my budget if I used my exercise calories, but as I plan based on TDEE they are technically already used and the way I work, is that I need a valid reason to use extra calories (a vastly higher than normal exercise burn or donating blood etc) and my bad choices do not justify it. Therefore, I am using my first pass day.
(I have already budgeted in the ice cream for tomorrow, so I should be good then.)9 -

Exercise? It was a rainy, soggy mess here today, so exercise had to be indoors. I did 24 minutes of a strength workout for another MFP Challenge. Gotta love it when you can double dip like that!

Yes times three. Yesterday was super busy. Did another big grocery shop and meal planned for the week. I love meal planning. It brings me so much joy and I have done it since I was a kid when my parents included us in deciding what was for dinners. It’s an amazing way to prevent yourself from last minute snacking and unhealthy choices. It’s a habit I forget sometimes and always come back to. It also lets my kids- one who is a teenage boy who would ask me 45 times a day what is for dinner- know what to expect. It’s written down and posted on the fridge and you all helped pick out the food so no complaints! Hope everyone had a good start to their week.7

Yes x3
My Fitbit gave me >600 exercise calories for 12.5 k steps and a 30 min calisthenics workout... I don't trust that number haha. Literally 200+ cal more than expected for that level of exercise. Regardless, I was only 200 over my not-active allotment, meaning I was well under the ridiculous level, and a decent amount under a normal allotment of exercise calories. Aka still no pass days!
I had a telemedicine call with my GI specialist who said my Feb blood work and tests were good and my diet sounded on track. She said many of her patients are eating worse due to covid-19 and having extra takeout so it was good to hear I was cooking and staying healthy7 -
Yes, yes and yes. Back on track after an exerciseless Sunday.8

Yes x3. A very necessary rest day for me, did the minimum exercise.

I'm so glad I went to bed early last night. I slept for 10 hours and felt like myself again. I was able to do my workout, vacuum, and have good quality kitchen time (baking, cooking, and cleaning up) without too much trouble. It was a rare rainy day, and I enjoyed it immensely!5 -

18th May
A pretty good day. The sun was out and I could sit outside on my terrace.
Exercise: Yes, minimal, but I did do a 30 minute walk. I had to spend the morning preparing for, waiting for and watching over yet another new home help, very young, not very good and somewhat grumpy. It left little time, after a late lunch.
Calories: Yes, stayed under. Still sticking to the low carb diet and the scales have gone down another few ounces.
Tracking: Yes, logged everything.
Hugely looking forward to my first exercise class in more than ten weeks, this evening, by the river.6 -

I used up my 3rd pass yesterday, over on calories. I opted for the "healthier" carrot cake option, over the chocolate cake, that was dropped off at our house, lol, still over even though I worked outside from sunup till sundown. Today's a new day, have a good one folks.6

Day 18
on track except exercise kind of slack.
I guess that is the stuff of pass.
Can't quite say active recovery.Took care of Buddy but that is mostly sedentary.
Two days in a row of no climb.
That sets me off from my goal a bit further.
No alcohol for a few days.
That kind of helps with staying under budget.5 -
Did I exercise for at least 20 minutes? Yes - lots and lots of exergame plus wonderful outdoor-walking weather has set in relatively long-term.
Did I stay within my calorie budget for the day? What with my newly bumped-up (by only 50) daily calorie level, I left most of the exercise calories uneaten. Still working on how to responsibly add more to my breakfasts / lunches / maybe afternoon snack even though I am am not hungry / looking for any.
Did I keep track of everything I ate and drank? Yes
