Happy Mother's day uac team! 🌹🌸🌷🌼🌻🌺💐7

Happy Mother's Day one and all. And, remember you do not have to be a "woman" to be a mother. There are many single fathers out there who play both the dad and mom role. There are also many woman who do not have children of their own but provide mothering to those in need or mentor. So a hug to all UAC members.9

TO All THE MOTHERS,
HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY!!6 -
The emus send mother's day bouquets to all moms and "stand-in-moms" *as @SuziQ113 mentioned*
I am just not sure what garden they may have raided in the night ... as the garden centres around here don't re-open until tomorrow ...
They wore bunny-ear headbands at Easter. For our wedding anniversary, the top one had a top hat, the second a "lacy veil thrown back", the third was holding the bouquet (not tulips) and the bottom one was wearing a bow tie) DH and I delight in being the "eccentric aulde couple on the block" People watch for what the birds will "do next holiday" , stop - laugh - point as they walk by, and some even take pictures.6 -
Hello all!
Happy Mother's Day to all the Mothers and grandparents out there in the virtual world! I am also thinking of all the surrogate parents and dads who function as moms for the little ones! ‘Going to say a quick hello here to everyone before the day evaporates. lol
@RangerRickL I’ve seen the most beautiful sunsets around that place. I also almost got killed trying to climb one of the rock formations there. : )
@Chinkiri
I got your post from a couple of days ago about coffee. Thank you! Sorry for the late response but for some reason, I have NOT been getting notifications. Argh! What you said were all interesting and good points! I remember reading somewhere that the effects of coffee depend on how much and how long a person has been drinking coffee. I have a feeling that all the stress that you had, (because of your demanding job at the time) and drinking TONS of coffee might have been the reason why your heart rate "was sky-high”?
Sorry to hear about your partner who has Alzheimer’s. That’s a tough one. : ( I read that caffeine is generally associated with a reduced risk of Alzheimer’s in the long run and it depends on how much one consumes but it disappointing that there is not a lot of good hard scientific evidence out there examining the relationship between coffee and Alzheimer's (human). That may be part of your partner’s frustration. However, I read that coffee or tea is protective against Parkinson’s and it also depends on how much coffee one drinks. BUT it is interesting that for women who are in menopause and taking hormone therapy, it works the opposite, caffeine seems to INCREASE the risk of Parkinson’s disease suggesting that there are some interactions between coffee and the hormones. In a study I read called the Nurse’s Health Study, a high intake of coffee ( over 6 cups a day) was associated with a four-fold increase risk of Parkinson’s. I agree with you about food. Food is a double-edged sword. It can be both nutrition or poison. Moderation is the key.
Yes x 3 yesterday but today is another day : )
Happy Mother's day all!!!7 -
I ran all the way up the hills including the one that feels vertical today. I did walk briefly at the start of the downhill to catch my breath after the monster hill, but it is progress. Then I did 20 minutes of yoga before work. Swam with the puppies at both seal feeds. The younger one is very curious and swims around me constantly.
Food is all logged, including second breakfast (I was still hungry and knew I had a busy day ahead of me). I have logged a post dinner treat but undecided on whether I will indulge (yogurt and frozen raspberries, so it is healthy). If I do, I will use some of my exercise calories, so will still be within my allowance.
I forgot to comment on the coffee thread. I don't drink tea, so it is all about the coffee for me. I am pretty much a coffee snob. I belong to a coffee club and get 6 new bags of beans every 3 months, from rosters around the country. I also have friends who run a local small roastery and my city boasts the oldest roastery in South Africa, so I can always stock up if my club supply runs out. I normally do black, no sugar. However, my friend makes the most delicious oat milk cappuccino and another coffee place uses macadamia milk. At home I will occasionally make myself a cappuccino, with whatever milk we happen to have (mom uses normal milk and my housemate and I use a variety of non-dairy milks).9 -

Pass Day
Sunday, 5/10
Tracking: Yes

I hope everyone had a wonderful mother’s day!
2nd pass being used for this day. Just can’t be helped. When your body needs the rest, better to give in then cause injury.8 -
Yes X 3. Tired, going to bed. Happy Mother's Day all.6

I was going to use a pass day, because I felt too lazy to log, but then I realized I hadn't actually eaten all that much. I didn't weigh my ribs that my son made for me (all fingers remained in tact this time!), but everything else I could account for with a high degree of accuracy. My exercise was clearing out my Aunt's room in her retirement home. I thought it was going to be more of a workout, but Fitbit said 51 active minutes so I'll take it. (The weather was not great for a walk after we got home, and frankly I was tired). So, if not weighing my ribs and using active minutes instead or exercise minutes counts, then it was a three yes day. If not, then Pass Day #2.9

DH made a small batch of home-made scones from his mother's recipe as a special Mother's day treat - warn from the oven with butter and jam. don't have the recipe entered, so can't track even though I ate very little for the day beyond our ordered-in dinner (my son's mother's day treat to me).
Did I exercise for at least 20 minutes? more than 20 minutes pacing while making very important mother's day call this morning - then when she called back later to say that the Entertainment Director at her retirement home had delivered the "Special Surprise Mother's Day Message" at the afternoon tea.

Happy Birthday Moms!
Did I exercise for at least 20 minutes? Yes, another day of YouTube chair videos, yoga, and foam rolling. Instead of doing all arms I snuck in a couple with legs as a reward for putting up with the rest! Kickboxing was awesome but not my greatest idea.
Did I stay within my calorie budget for the day? Yes, need to figure out why I'm getting extra calories from the Fitbit and whether or not I've actually burned it before eating them back again.
