Headlamps

Can anyone recommend a good headlamp? I need something for running that actually lights up the road so I can see where I'm going, and if I can also wear it with a cycle helmet (for non running days) that'd be even better.

The one I currently have is neither comfortable nor particularly effective.

I used the Petzl Tikkina 2. It won't work with a bike because it just doesn't throw enough light for biking but throws plenty of light while running. It was pretty cheap too.

I have a regular energizer headlamp that I got at Walmart for $8.00. It throws out a lot of light and even blinks red if you need it to.

This is the one I use for running, and I love it.

Petzl has a level up that will work with biking and running and is still just as light weight which is the Petzl Tikkina XP 2. It is designed to work with and without bike helmets and is about 20 bucks more than the other model.

I use this one as well and figure when it breaks I will go get another one!
