Some of you have been with this challenge for months and some are brand new. This is one of the hardest challenges to stay with throughout the entire month.
FOCUS, FOCUS, FOCUS!! Log every BLT (Bite, Lick, Taste). Stay strong and true to yourself....YOU WILL SUCCEED!!
Please feel free to share as much information as you feel comfortable sharing about yourself with the rest of the group. I look forward to getting to know all of you a little better.
GOOD LUCK!

So glad to be back! I was in the UAC groups from October 2019 - March 2020 and I lost 30 lbs during that period. I took the past two months off to allow myself space while starting a new job and during this pandemic. I'm happy to say I kept up with my exercise while working out a new routine, and have maintained my last weight.
I'm rejoining the group because my time away showed just how valuable this group is. While I had outside factors weighing in, I did find myself struggling with motivation without the group and I've been looking forward to joining the June UAC.
I'm looking to maintain where I'm at and potentially lose another 10 - 15 lbs, without putting too much pressure on myself to do so as I am at a healthy weight now.
Thanks for having me and looking forward to June!7 -
Hi. First time on the challenge. Is there a reminder option so I don't forget to log my daily update plus where do I add the updates?
Thanks,
Alex6 -
Lost ten lbs so far with the accountability! Hoping to loose ten more. Thanks!6

First-timer here, looking forward to adding another layer of accountability to my journey and getting to know others along the way.6

After more than a year out of training due to injury and surgery (broken arm in judo competition followed by kidney donation) I came back last month to get my routine back on track. I managed to keep the weight gain minimal (about 6kgs) but lost all my strength and stamina as well as a bunch of confidence on the jiu jitsu mats. With only 1 kidney, I really need to drop an additional 3 kgs, but I'm already down 2, so only 7 to go. Covid-19 is preventing me getting back to full training, but I'm working on strength and fitness where I can (which includes my job - looking after animals on a skeleton staff is pretty labour intensive!) My goal is to be fit and ready at fighting weight when lockdown is over (if that ever happens!) but if I am not at the goal, at least I will be closer to it.
This challenge helps me keep accountable without having to do specific workouts etc. My training schedule is normally so full anyway, that it is often a challenge to add extra stuff. Even in the midst of lockdown, I run everyday, work 4 days a week (which includes at least 2 swim with seal sessions), online jiu jitsu class 5 days a week, yoga everyday and often fit in extra workouts with my housemate! Even if I have time for anything else, I wouldn't have the energy.6 -
Back at it for month #18! I absolutely love this challenge!5

Hi Alex and welcome. There's no reminder, but there's a thread for each day of the month. We check in each day and post an update -- as little or as much as you want to write.
The challenge allows us to post every 3 days if we get busy (but you will need to post for all three days in one if you do that). I find it more beneficial just to write a short update each day. Hope this makes sense.3 -
Welcome @asmism Also good to see familiar faces back again
This will be my 10th month with the challenge. I reached my goal weight last November (and was thrilled to finally fit in my favorite jeans). I really want to keep the weight off.
The UAC is a good place to check in at the end of the day. It's great to aim for the winner's circle, but the challenge is also about healthy habits and keeps me on track.

I just signed up for MFP a little over an hour ago, so I'm a total newbie. I read the Introductions, What's on Your Mind Today?, FAQs and Rules. Then, I decided to join the group. I'm 66 and have been changing my food intake since January. Down only 10 lbs. I haven't exercised in YEARS, so I'm looking forward to the accountability of this group. My exercise might be totally lame to most of you, but it will be movement for me. 5'2", 193 lbs, goal of 130 lbs.7

@Hollis100 Thanks for the warm welcome!3

Hello everyone!
I am looking forward to my 5th month with the UAC group. I love the support of the team.3 -
Welcome back to those who've been here for months (or years!) and welcome to the newcomers!
I've been in this group since August 2019 and after a slightly lax winter I had a great March (4 passes), April (3 passes), and May (1 so far). I'm excited to check in each day in June and have this group help keep me on track especially during this time when it's harder to exercise and easier to give in to temptation!6 -
Hello everyone, I`m a first timer in a group like this.I`ve used MFP before lost a lot of weight, but put it back on after a few years of not tracking anymore due to a bad mental state, looking forward to getting back on track3

New to challenges on this platform. I spent the past month reading some of the articles, joining a support group, and practicing tracking. I’m a teacher and June should be a good month to focus on this challenge and be motivated. Ultimately I want to loose almost 60lbs. My short term goal is to loose 20 lbs by the end of the summer. So far in May I’ve lost 2lbs. My struggle now is adding in my activity to tracking and it increasing my calorie intake, and me doing it. Here’s to June and seeing what comes of it!5

Hello!
I've been on and off this weight loss adventure for many years - sometimes much more successful than other times.
Right now I'm not very successful.. which is about to change! I am looking for accountability to keep me focused on tracking and doing what I know works for me.
I hope doing challenges this time will help me feel like I'm not in this alone!
Looking forward to starting!3 -
Hi all,
I like the looks of this group so joining for the first time:) accountability=makes me try harder.
Trying to drop 30 lbs this year, just hit 10 down. Looking forward to joining with you this month.5 -
Hello all,
I’m new to the group. I’m pretty good with activity monitoring but lack motivation with my diet tracking. I’m assuming accountability will make me try harder to stick to my calorie goals. Thanks6 -
Hello,
I had been a member of UAC for about 18 months, found it a wonderful tool to keep maintaining my weight loss.
I haven't been a part of it at all so far in 2020, and was only halfway through the weight I wanted to loose. like alot of people I've found myself slightly setback due to quarantine. Joining again to get me refocused, and consistent. Looking forward to getting the needle moving again!1 -
Newbie here,
Back to food tracking with MyFitnessPal but I genuinely find it hard to cut as an amatur bodybuilder who also lift. Fully aware it's my own duty to balance out my stress and panic regarding muscle loss. Currently weighting 133Lb, sqat 195/ddl 215/benching 100 just for reference. And hopefully I will be starting my June cut at 130 and get 8Lb down without loosing more than 10% of strength.
Now that we are all in this together working towards a similar goal, I will try my best to bring positive contribution to the community.
Cheers.3 -
Hello. New to the group. Currently looking to add another level of accountability and be motivated.5

Trying UAC for the third time. In the past, the same factors that kept me from completing the challenge also kept me from participating in the daily check-in. Things have changed since then (including my attitude and weight loss strategy), and it's time to try a challenge again. I work in healthcare in a hard-hit area, but things are getting better - as long as hospital inpatient numbers stay manageable, I'll be here. Looking forward to succeeding with all of you!7

Hello!
I’ve been on MFP since 2012 and have been successful at losing weight through fun challenges (went from 220+ to 166 lbs). I am finding now that the exercise comes easy, but meeting my calorie goals does not. I have gotten into the habit of telling myself that because I’ve worked out I can have the sweets that I crave, even if I’m already at my calorie goal for the day, so I am looking forward to focusing on breaking that habit this month.
Hoping to lose weight in the month of June, celebrate my birthday, and have fun with everyone!7 -
Hello! I'm so excited to be joining in! I am in a particularly motivated place right now, so I have to keep ridin' that wave. Have a wonderful day, looking forward to the challange!6

Hi all! Welcome to our May challenge, returnees and newcomers.
And a thousand thanks to our leader, @RangerRickL for helping us stay accountable.
I’m Terri from Northern Ireland. Back for my 20th month. Working on improving my fitness and health. Made the Winners Circle 19 times so far.
UAC is a good place for anyone to start the practicing of new habits, in a supportive and encouraging atmosphere. Through being a member, I have achieved my lowest weight in 4 decades, and have maintained it since late 2019.
Just a few details on my personal journey to health and fitness.
Aim for 2020 ~ maintain < 150 (I may even manage to drop a little more! 😂WHAT I HAVE DISCOVERED
I am FOCUSED on heathy food choices and DETERMINED to achieve my goals!
Age: 73; Height 5’2”; Female
SW: 227lbs (Mar 2014)
LW: 147.2 (4 April 2020)
UGW: 145 (this may change when I get there 😂 )
CW: 148.4- For the last 3 years I have tended to bounce up and down between 160 - 170. Occasionally I bounced up/down a little more.
- My ideal situation is to maintain < 150
- I use CI/CO and a variety exercise for extra calories.
- Logic would suggest that I have found a natural comfortable weight, and, according to modern BMI calculation, I am in the upper range of normal for my age and height. However, logic doesn't always dictate our desires and feelings. 😂
- Getting and staying healthy and fit requires the development of a permanent lifestyle reset.
- Replacing unhelpful habits with more useful ones is key to to the process.
- Losing weight is only one of the elements.
- Eating healthy and staying actively is not OPTIONAL, but an ABSOLUTE ESSENTIAL.
REMINDERS One or two thoughts on weight which might give heart to some of you.- Daily weight fluctuations are normal, and can be several lbs a day for no apparent reason.
- A general downward trend is what we are looking for.
- Eating out can cause apparent weight gain because of high sodium levels, but usually goes quickly. Drinking extra water helps with this.
- The human body does not react instantly to what we do to it. Sometimes it can take several days to see results.
- Plateaus are a normal part of the process. The body is consolidating and adapting to your new way of eating/exercising.
- The closer you get to your goal weight, the more difficult it becomes to lose weight, as your body becomes more efficient at using what you feed it.
- When you exercise you build muscle, which takes up less space than fat, so use measurements as well as weight to assess your progress.
- Getting/Staying fit and healthy requires a permanent lifestyle change for most people.

Brand new to this experience. I am looking forward to being a part of this June accountability
group.7 -
Hi all. New to this. Looking forward to the challenge4

Hello. I'm new to the group. Focus for one month will be good to turn things around. I have been struggling with gym closure and weight gain so time to get it together. Thanks for this group. Currently weighing 98kg (215 lbs). I'm good at tracking just realise there is lot of food in my day to track! So hoping to cut the cals back to 1500 per 5 weekdays and 1800 on 2 weekend days. Night time snacking is my worst enemy, so I plan to come on here and be accountable at night time (Sydney Australia). Have a chat etc- I hope everyone goes well. Be kind to yourselves in June! Half a kg per week is my goal for the next few months at least! Cheers x

Hi, there! I'm Lisa, and June will be my third month in the UAC. I made the Winner's Circle in April, in my first attempt, but I will fall short in May by one or two days. (I have a feeling today will be one of those two days!) However, being consistent MOST of the time is what counts, as I have had great success on the scales over these past two months!! The habits I have formed regarding exercise are awesome. I don't wake up and wonder if I am going to exercise; I wonder when I am I going to exercise and what am I going to do! And if the day isn't progressing well due to lack of focus, there is nothing better to help with that than a bit of mind clearing exercise!! Have a great June, everyone, and I hope to see you in the Winner's Circle!!5

Hi, I'm Genni. Halfway through this time round. Roughly 20lbs to go. Joining to be accountable and as an extra motivator to keep me going.5

Hi there! I'm Veronica and this is my first time with this challenge, so thanks for having me! I'm 5ft and ultimately looking to lose 40 lbs, but in the short term for this month, I'm hoping to lose 5 lbs. Thanks and hope everyone is safe out there!5
