This is where you can share what's on your mind. Recipes, ideas, workouts, anything that you think might be helpful to others.
Maybe, you've tried something that has worked for you in the past and would like to share it with the group. Maybe, you have a NSV (Non Scale Victory) that you would like to share with the group. Anything that you feel comfortable sharing or anything that you feel comfortable asking the group with help....this is the place to come.
The GOOD!! What NSV did you have this week!!
The BAD!! So what....you ate the whole thing!!
The UGLY!! That darn scale went through the window this week....it deserved it too!!
So, what's on your mind today??

I lost .8 and also see NSV by how clothes fit. Very focused on tracking and thankful to MFP🙌🏽7

I’m setting a few goals for the month and will update here to keep accountable on them.
1. Finish reading The Brave Athlete. I’ve been reading it for ages but keep getting distracted. I really need too get stuck in and dig through it and apply the principles to my Jiu Jitsu game.
2. Get my healthy routines back in place. I’ve let too many things lax in the past 6 weeks and it’s time to get back to what works best for me.
3. Go on adventures. My friend challenged me on this one and I’m aiming for at least one a week. They don’t have to be anything big, she actually calls them micro adventures!
4. Improve my push-up’s. I’m still not able to do a full push-up after the injuries etc from last year but if I put in the effort, I will get there! I need to work on them at least twice a week, preferably three times.
Anyone else want to set some goals and keep accountable regarding them here?7 -

Can you send some examples of #3? Sounds like a concept that would be good for me, but need to know how to define "micro adventures"
The link leads to a 12-minute resistance-band workout that (apparently) will strengthen and stabilize all the underling muscles that support accomplishing push-ups etc.

You (and your athletic circle) are more than plugged in enough to judge if it might be an element to include in your overall regime.2 -
@BMcC9 for micro adventures, you can google it to get a better idea but to me adventure is really a state of mind. One idea my friend has is to do a full moon hike. I’m also going ocean kayaking this month. When you start looking you can find adventure in so many things! The best ones to me are normally ones that stretch my comfort zone slightly!
Thanks for the link. I’ve done loads of shoulder rehab in the last year so I know exactly what I need to do, I just need to be disciplined in actually doing it.4 -
Ended August as Yet another "weird day"D-PIE ... project-management at it's rock bottom basics (Define - Plan / Implement / Execute)
4Rs ... managing information at it's rock bottom basics (Right Info in Right Place where Right People can access for Right Length of Time)
I need to D-PIE a process that lets me efficiently do the 4Rs on multi "micro-projects" all at different stages of only 3 basic "coding lines" .... while simultaneously Executing at a gradually-improving level ... while the number of individual active and on-holds keeps growing ....
I've cracked the Define
Working on the new-Style Plan/Implement (while still Executing old-style)
My first micro-adventure will be getting comfortable with Aww (a web-based "collaborative white-board variants" tool that apparently has multiple built-in "starter templates" ... can export to / import pdfs and ppts .... in my off-hours.
good thing I consider learning new interfaces and ways to "make the tech do as much of the work as possible" kind of thing "play"
3 -
anyone want to "play on Aww" with me? Or already familiar with some variant of it? It's probably gonna be easier to get used to a collaborative tool if I am COLLABORATING with someone rather than using it solo ....1

Hello everyone.
As mentioned near the end of last month I am dedicating the month of September to writing out a list of things for which I am grateful. Although I think about them every day there is something about seeing the physical words. I am finding I am slipping in to some disarray in my life. When I practiced this a few months ago it helped me realize how good I have it when so many others are suffering.
I can put them in a spoiler, if everyone wants me to do so. Just let me know.
I am grateful for the following.- The wonderful rain storm last night. Not only did it lull me to sleep it also watered the plants so I do not have to pull out the hose this morning.
- My washer and dryer. I remember the years I had to drag my laundry to the laundry mat and how it would tap in to my weekend hours. Now I can start a load and log in to work thereby saving me a ton of time while also reminding me to get up and move around for a few minutes.
- The beautiful sunrise this morning. It signals to me its a new day and I am alive.
I hope everyone has had or has a great day today.9 -

I love the idea of micro adventures. Any day/hours can be a vacation and/or a moment of self-care.5 -

I remember you doing this before, and that they WEREN"T in a spoiler - and I for one found them a very encouraging sight when I would check in for my morning pre-log. I hope others will also like the idea of them being out in the open - and maybe even emulate you!
I am grateful for:- my position (despite the nutsy-level that the whole Department has been coping with even BEFORE mid-March
- that I have a "solution-orientation" hard-wiring to how I think - reaching a "critical mass" of defining the specifics can be hard on the nerves, but once I get there, it's like a bit flips in my brain and i SEE how to take a little time once (to set up a template and a hyperlink in a list to grab it ... and then I can just cut& paste the same internal tasking email over and over without having to compose the same thing constantly (and risk typos etc)
- that I think in "icon images" that let me view the same information from multiple perspectives.
- that after such a sloooooow start (we replanted about 3 or 4 times) our wildflower garden is FINALLY reaching its glorious heights.

Hello everyone!
@BMCc9 - Thank you for the feedback. I will keep my lists out in the open. Those who do not want to read them can scan past. It's nice to hear my lists were motivating and encouraging.
I have hinted over the past two months I have veered off my healthier lifestyle plan. I am digging deep internally to discover why I am sliding. September is dedicated to getting back on track!- I am grateful for the orchids blooming. Orchids are such resilient plants they are a reminder I can be resilient too. Pictures are provided below.
- I am grateful to be living in Florida. Although we are in the dog days of summer here it will not be long before people are complaining about the cold while I will be enjoying days in the 70-degree range.
- I am grateful my hip went out. Yes, crazy but true. One of the reasons I started my journey was all of the consistent aches and pains I was having. My hip going out is a reminder I am in control of my health and the habits I form will benefit me for the rest of my life.
The picture on the left is the first orchid I got to bloom indoors. I finally found just the right spot and figured out indoor care (for now). The picture on the right is "Big Daddy". This plant is 25 years old and has spent its life outdoors. It has survived many hurricanes, moves around the courtyard. Last year I thought I lost it, but kept it to see what would happen. As you can see it made a come back.
It's my wish everyone has had or has a great day!11 -
Hi everyone! Someone had asked for my Taco Lettuce Boats recipe so here goes. This is a great easy recipe the whole family will enjoy. It is very low in calories, so you get to eat a lot, I ate 5 tacos! I put out Guac, tortillas, and vegan chicken and cheese for the kiddos to add to their tacos since they need more calories. Disclaimer: I am one of those annoying cooks who never measures anything.
Taco Lettuce Boats
Black beans - I cook them in a slow cooker overnight to eat for lunch. You can add a taco seasoning packet if you have one, or make your own. I use chili powder, paprika, cayenne, garlic, onion powder and a little salt. Roasted chickpeas are also really good in this recipe with the same seasonings.
Rice- I add cilantro and lime juice
Corn- Small bag of frozen corn, 1 can of Rotel mixed together and heated on stove top.
I just put it all on a big lettuce leaf and topped it with hummus. I used romaine, it looks like little canoes, but any lettuce will do.
Enjoy!6 -

I agree, your lists are very inspiring! Your 25 year old plant is my spirit animal! Lol2 -

I will try and remember to post more pictures as it continues to bloom. It has 10 flower stems on it - 2 of which have 20 flower pods. The rest have 10-12 flower pods developing. It's a fighter - good spirit animal/plant.3 -
Hi everyone! Its September, so its a new start. Of course, I forgot it was the first yesterday, so that means yesterday was my first pass day. However, it's ok, I will keep moving forward. I learned that old habits are hard to break and so easy to slip back into. I also learned that I shouldn't drop out of the group once I get disqualified because my weight loss journey will take a while, and I need to keep moving forward. My goal for September (in addition to all my goals from August in developing a healthy lifestyle) is to stay active in UAC for the entire month of September instead of dropping out once I become disqualified.10

@KCJen
A slip is not a fall. You are starting with a great attitude and lets face it.....we did not gain the weight we want to lose in a month so it's going to take some time. Every step in the right direction is a gain. Keep up the good work and you will see the results you are working towards.1 -
I’m going to also jump on @SuziQ113 ’s gratitude train.
I am grateful for my boss’ horrific attitude. He made me soooo uncomfortable that I had to explore other options, and because of that, I am retiring from my COVID-laden hospital job. My last day is 9-14. I’m also grateful that said boss made me non-exempt in April, after being exempt for over 15 years. While I hate having to punch a clock? Exempt employees have to give 30 day's-notice, even when retiring. Hourly? Only 2 weeks.
I’m grateful for my husband, who tolerated my being a total shrew for the past several months.
I’m grateful for this group, who has kept me accountable for my eating habits, which easily could have gone straight south under the stressful conditions I’ve been working under.
I’m grateful to be able to afford to retire at 55. I doubt I will have this energy level at 65 (or I might, who knows), so I can enjoy the next chapter of my life to the fullest.
I’m grateful for the friendships I have cultivated here, and the new interests I’ve developed.
Im also really grateful for @heidipatterson100 ’s recipe for taco lettuce boats, because my name is Julie and I’m a taco addict, and I will be making this!
This group is just awesome sauce!9 -
Really struggling with finding the energy to do exercise today. I think the reason I am feeling so blah is since I have lost weight xmy blood pressure is going a lot lower! Yay! I checked it today and it was actually in the normal range. Now is only my body could adjust to it faster so I don't feel so horrible. Proud of myself for pushing through and getting my exercise in today when I didn't feel like it!8

Hello everyone.
Thanks @juliemouse83 for joining the gratitude lists. It's early in the month, but I am already finding they are having a positive effect on me.- I am grateful for another day on this sweet planet.
- I am grateful for central air. We are expecting the heat index to be over 100 this afternoon.
- I am grateful to be gainfully employed when so many are struggling.
The remainder of the week is going to be very busy as we are closing out August. I am so looking forward to the 3-day weekend! Makes the craziness worth it.5 -
- i am grateful for the hummingbird that showed up in our wild-flower front garden today.
- I am grateful to be part of the Wellness Committee at work
- I am grateful for coloured 5x7 inch index cards. They are playing a MAJOR role in my 'task management self-improvement" strategy ... looks like I will feel ABLE to take French classes through word this semester after all (even last week I wasn't so sure I could manage it)

Hello everyone!
Busy, busy, busy at work. I wanted to be sure I visited and got my grateful list posted. Taking a short work break.- I am grateful to be able to clean my bedding while working remote. Not only do I get to have clean sheets to sleep in the process reminds me to get up and stretch.
- I am grateful we have a 3-day weekend! Yeah!!
- I am grateful to have nourishing food in my pantry and refrigerator.
- I am grateful to the others who have been posting their grateful lists. They are motivating!
I hope everyone is having or has had a great day.6 -
What a crazy past couple of days!
I’m grateful for:- my former boss, who is my long-time friend for recommending me for a part time opportunity doing what is in my skill set. I should find out if I get it next week. The preliminary interview went quite well;
- the five day weekend I am taking for Labor Day.
- the oncology patient that befriended me back in June when things got weird at work. Caught up with her today to say my goodbyes, and we swapped contact information so we can now keep in touch. (I make friends in the unlikeliest of situations.)
- the patient that made me cry outside of her room and the nurses that congratulated me for being human.
- the feeling of peace that has surrounded me since I handed in my retirement letter.
- my best friend who sent me flowers for standing up for myself by resigning. She knows I adore lilies. ❤️
It has been a roller coaster week, but I’m going to slay it over the long weekend. I’m going to clean out my soap room so I can get back in there and give my small business the grand re-opening and attention it deserves.9 -
A belated thank you!!! I can’t figure out how messages work — where I’m notified when some one comments.
Do you use Mobile & Desktop? Is one easier than other? Trying to avoid lots of emails, but maybe that’s how to be notified. 🧐🤓1 -
Hello and happy Saturday to everyone.
Many things to be grateful for this morning. I really love reading through everyone's lists. It puts a positive spin on the day.- I am grateful for the good night's sleep I had last night.
- I am grateful for Smokey the cats antics (pictures below).
- I am grateful for my home. It provides shelter and security.
As everyone can tell Smokey was very grateful for the clean sheets yesterday too. When the bedding is getting washed he waits in the room until the clean sheets are brought up.
I hope everyone has a great day!3 -
I am grateful for:
- a 4-day weekend (the last of my Fridays off)
- the functional ability to have done 15,095 steps (mostly exergame, but also walking to / from the hardware store) and burning 1754 cals by the end of the day yesterday .... then doing another 6100 steps so far today (5400 on the exergame) without strain today
- we are now into my favourite season of the year ..... pumpkin spice! (I have had my annual one-per-year-only DQ mini-blizzard; will be getting my annual one-per-year-only Tim Horton's Pumpkin Spice muffin next weekend .... and am stocking up on Pumpkin seed Bark thins and Pumpkin spice ground coffee as I find them.

Hello team!
I have many little projects and chores going on this weekend. All are keeping me busy and moving. I made sure I also scheduled me time so the weekend has a perfect balance to it.
This morning I am grateful for the following.- Another sweet day on this planet we call earth.
- The gentle rain watering the outside plants today.
- The pumpkin puree I located. After reading @MCcC9 's I decided I would make some molasses bran muffins and substitute the applesauce with pumpkin puree. I will add some pumpkin pie spice in to the mix. It will provide a healthy dose of bran while providing some seasonal flavor!
The recipe is located within Bob's Red Mill site and is entitled "Moist Molasses Bran Muffins". The muffins freeze well and are only 150 calories if 12 are made. Instead of sugar molasses and raisins sweeten them.
I hope everyone has or has had a great day!4
