I briefly contemplated putting the shower controller on the same wall as the roughed in plumbing but opted to put it elsewhere... As you can see, the two holes are about 6 inches apart. Each stub was about 4 inches long of which three inches were inside the shower stall. I repaired the concrete floor with cement today. The wooden box will be removed once the cement is cured... I needed it to keep a space open around the drain pipe for the drain fitting.

My wife Pam likes painting so she started picking away at the bathroom. She finished the blue wall. The other walls are going to be "Almond Butter" which is an off-white. Once she got the blue wall done, I mounted the mirror we got at IKEA... and then the light fixture...
If you look in the upper left corner of this pic, you can see the "realtor beige" paint we're covering. lol

Cement board glued & screwed... Tomorrow, I will mix up mortar and seal the joints & corners... Once the mortar is dried, I can start to customfit the panels for the sides...
32" x 32" is a decent sized shower for most people but I'm a big boy... I barely fit... I'm considering using a shower curtain rather than a door to gain the extra bit of space that affords.

1... 2... 3... and, just like that, there was a shower stall... Now all I need to do is caulk the edges & corners, finish the fitment of the valve, add the shower head and figure out something like a curtain or door. My initial thought was a door but Pam says curtains without doors are fashionable.

Caulking went relatively well. As I was smoothing it, I found a sharp edge and cut the tip of my index finger sharply. Nice little bleeder... dangit...1

Plumbed, tested and working. All I need is a curtain and that shouldn't be hard.

In August, I had my driveway resurfaced as the old asphalt was worn out & heaved. One of the things I didn't count on was the paving contractor throwing hot asphalt against the vinyl siding.
As luck would have it, they weren't able to get their large paving machine into the area by the garage so they ended up pulling up the asphalt they threw against the siding. I took advantage of the respite, pulled out the melted siding and put a piece of cement board in place.
When I went to get siding to replace the damaged bits, the manufacturer no longer makes the same size or colour... So I got as close as I could and it's going to have to do.

One of the "to do" list things I have is to install a range vent hood above the stove. When I bought the house, there was a rather sticky old vent hood which was wired in but not vented. I tried to clean it but when I saw the price of replacement hoods, I decided to buy a new one.
When I went to install it and realized the cabinet didn't even have a hole, I parked the hood temporarily... Six years later, I've finally cut the bottom of the cabinet and installed it. Next steps... cutting holes across to the wall... and then through the wall...

It all looks amazing! Your 6 year story is exactly why I won't unpack until this first set of renos is done...if I fully moved in, I would have just pushed them off...1

According to the antique place where we bought this, the table was made in southeastern England in mid-1800s. It is quarter-sawn okay with carved trim & legs. It can be expanded with two leafs so it seats eight to ten people. For the purposes of staging the house, I made the table as small as it could be...

Wow, Beautiful table!
BTW, Where's the snow / squirrel pictures? π€·πΌββοΈ0 -
The front of the MacShanty... The snow by the tree is over 4ft deep as that's where I shovel most of the driveway and walkway. If you look to the left on the street, that's one of the storm drains I keep clear so when the melt comes, it has someplace to go other than my lower level...
