Gratitude List Nov 27
- My neighbourhood Bulk Food store (for keeping me supplied with bread machine flour all this time - they have even had a "click and curb-side collect" service going since early after the initial lock-down in mid-March.)
- my little baseboard heater for when the damp-cold is settling in between my shoulder blades (one only wants to set the main-floor thermostat so high in order to heat the second floor office (and in winter, the cold air comes off the window right next to the desk)
- UAC format for easing me back into logging-routine again.
- all of you UAC members (my primary social-interaction network of ANY type these days)

Dogs are the best -- they get us off the couch and out the door and are always glad to see us. Here is a photo of my longtime companion Jennie, over the Rainbow Bridge now -- I used to take her to the office with me. I am away too much to have a dog now but one day hope to adopt another.

Gratitude List Nov 28
- The aroma of freshly ground, almost-done-brewing spiced eggnog flavoured coffee - the very first cup of the season (this is a limited-edition flavour and only available until it runs out)
- Being able to sleep late on weekends
- DH willing to resume doing outdoor evening walks (now that the rainy-part of late fall is over) ... despite the fact that even before-supper / after I sign off work for the day, walks would be after sundown. (on weekends they will be mid-afternoon while the sun is still up)

I am giving myself a S.M.A.R.T. target goal for Dec of 2.5 pounds down over the next month (by half-way between Christmas and New Years) .... which will put me juuuuuuuuussst inside the Normal BMI range, (24.99) and right at the top of my acceptable maintenance range.
That averages out to between 1/2 and 3/4 pound per week. (i am old enough to not have TOM fluctuations)
This will be accomplished by a combination of continuing the resumed stricter logging, and upping the general-activity quotient in my day (and in three weeks, I get to take 3 calendar-weeks of annual leave, so that out-door activity can take place in daylight hours and the (relatively-speaking) so-called "heat of the day". )3 -
Reasons to be cheerful today:
1. Still breathing
2. Good level of health and fitness
3. Looking forward to family Skype after lunch2 -
I've been catching up tonight on all the posts here that I've missed! What a great idea to post "gratitudes" here. I've loved reading all of them.
Things I'm grateful for today:
1. I'm so very grateful that I found this group. I'm thankful for all of you and for the encouragement & support that y'all give to me and to each other every day. I really enjoy reading all of the posts.
2. I'm thankful that my hubby loves to go hunting this time of year. He loves being out in nature and I love being home alone (whilst he's out hunting) to enjoy classic Christmas music and decorating the house for Christmas!
3. I'm thankful that we live in the country where it's so peaceful and quiet and I can enjoy long walks on country roads when the temp isn't too cold/hot.
@Hollis100 Jennie is gorgeous!! What a beautiful dog!
@BMcC9 I've been contemplating my December goals and some personal goals for 2021 as well (not just weight loss goals). It's exciting to hear that you're so close to a normal BMI range. Congrats! That IS a job well done!3 -
I am grateful for:
1. My family zoomed last night and it was so much fun.
2. I did a wonderful 20 minute energy focus meditation first thing this morning.
3. My husband put in a fire pit so we can sit outside and be warm this winter. I will definitely enjoy this as I very rarely leave the house now except to hike in the adjacent forest. This way the kids can come over and socially distance over hot chocolate.

I am grateful that:
- This is such a positive, welcoming, supportive group with such varied approaches to "the three basics"
- The weather was so nice over the weekend
- My immediate-family's general health is all good; no covid in our circle; the chronic heath condition of my BiL (NON-covid and long-standing) is responding well the the current drug-based management regime (compared to late October, the change is amazingly positive, but still more tests need to be done)
- My work plan has "paid family-related leave" days I can use to help get him to hospital tests and appointments - and boss agreed today that if I run out, I can book the time out of my accumulated unused "personal sick days" ( have about 6 months saved up as they carry over and I am so rarely sick) rather than "vacation days"

I am grateful that:
- My morning cuppa, courtesy of my DH
- I have the good fortune to belong to several groups of positive, welcoming, supportive people who ‘get’ me
- Today is filled with possibilities
- I am free from the need to earn a living
- I choose how I react to whatever life brings my way
