This photo was taken two days ago when we ( Cocoa, the horse; Chica, the border collie; Rose, my wife and best friend; and I were staying at a horse-hotel near Albuquerque, NM. That is Cocoa enjoying his huge playground with mountains in the background.
Today, I’m all moved into our winter season condo and Cocoa is staying in a stable only one mile from us.
I look forward to reading all of your posts from the last few days!

Morning run and then a nice rest day. Good food choices and all under budget.
My running time is used to think about my Jiu Jitsu game and this morning I got thinking about what we have been working on this week and some comments one of the white belts made. That led me to think about a technique we should recap at a session next week and what aspects of the move are important. When I got home I told coach I would teach the move on Monday. I knew that if I told him I thought we should recap it, he would tell me to do it anyway. He is currently on the sidelines after knee surgery and either relying on the upper belts to take class or talking us through moves. Normally our other black belt or one of three purple belts takes class but he has said often enough that he wants the blue belts to step up as well and I already coach kids class. As expected he loved the idea. At least I have the weekend to plan exactly what I want to do, rather than him telling me less than an hour before class that he wants me to do it.12 -

@RangerRickL Wonderful that something like a horse hotel exists. We had a heck of a time sorting out what hotels would accept cats when we headed to Florida for a first "season" last year with Harry and Han Solo. In "regular" hotels that allow "pets" most actually only allow dogs, so why do they say "pets" when they mean "dogs only". Glad your family journey went well.6

Month #2 in the UAC group. Happy with how October went. Did well in the challenge and also took off 5 lbs along the way.
I am expecting November to be a challenging month. I would like to make the winner’s circle again, but at worst, I will accumulate the least number of passes I can. With all that will come at the end of the month (Nov 26 – 29), I need to really stay focused every day leading up to those dates.
For this round, I’m going to start logging my net calories since I think I should be looking into what portion of exercise calories I should be adding in. I have been getting some thoughtful input on this. There is likely going to be some evolution over the month, but I know there is a delicate and individual balance regarding total calories, I will update as I define. Favorite summer activity is likely why I am here - probably "eating". I am not a summer person. Fall is my favorite. I am not a bright sun, heat, humidity, or water person. Yes to all three again! Walked at lunch such a weather change from earlier in the week snow and high wind Monday and Tuesday almost 70 and sunny today what a swing but I’ll take it as it won’t last long. Way under today not how I like to do it but a very busy work morning never had breakfast until after 11a.11

Even though I ate out for lunch and dinner I’m way below on calories today. Lunch was an Unwich roast beef at Jimmie Johns with a pickle - no chips or cookies... dinner tonight was scallops with cauliflower mash and crisp shiitake mushrooms. Sounds delicious but the plate had three scallops, two teaspoons of cauliflower mash artfully placed on each side, a scattering of crisp mushrooms and some sort of green interspersed. It was seriously Spartan!! Anyway, I definitely chose well to stay under the calorie goal.

Rick, my daughter-in-law's family runs a horse 'hotel'. Otherwise this would be a new concept. I still remember saying... 'what?!' when I learned about it.8 -

@RangerRickL I too have never heard of a horse hotel. Pretty cool though! Your horse is beautiful. Glad you all arived safely and are back to posting. We all missed you! The girls did a fabulous job while you were gone with the opening of the day post. Great pics and questions to think about.5
