Headed out to Winery for some Holiday Cheer with neighbors.

    Mornin' BBB.

Cold and crusty snow. Sun is shining, so we should get a little melt.

Working on internet shopping for gifts. Need to put snow thrower on the tractor. Make a run to the town transfer station. Smoking a pork butt.

    Hope Lou's weekend improves.

    BBB OP ;-)

    Morning BBB

We got maybe 8 inches of snow. Maybe a little more. It was windy so lots of crazy drifts. All 6 cottages and the house are scooped out and hit tubs cleared off. Now off to our hit tub to warm up then need to check the hit tub chemicals and maybe gather laundry. I think cleaning will wait for tomorrow.

    Good afternoon BBB Friends.
    • Wow, Dave started us off. That is an early start of the day.
    • And who would have seen Steph and Ron as innkeepers?
    • I had the day off at church and watched the stream from home. We are supposed to be in church next week but the virus is spiking again after Thanksgiving as predicted.
    • Football on my agenda today.

    Good Afternoon BBB

So here is Tony's brown trout he caught out of the Milwaukee River which feeds into Lake Michigan. He did put it back in the river.... did not keep it. The trout are still running a bit, the salmon do as well, but they are done running, have been for about 2 weeks now. It's mild here in Wisc. for Dec for sure, in the upper 30's again today, still no first snow fall in SE Wisc.

As you can see, the kid needs some waterproof hiking winter type boots, which Im happy to get suggestions for... Dave or anyone, can you assist ???? Im going to buy him a pair for Christmas. He's a mens' 11 Budget about 100.00 is ok.

Tom and I had a wonderful road trip yesterday to the lake and so much fun together! We met a contractor and should have a quote for some work on the lot we want to do this spring in email by Monday! We stopped ay the cheese factory, an old fashioned dime store, and we got
    home by 7:00pm.

Sorry for your leak on new floor Lou!

Steph, are you getting sick of all this cottage cleaning, snow removal, hot tub cleaning and laundry yet? Hopefully, the money is worth it!

The lake is barely starting to get some ice, a little towards the shore line, thats it so far. Tom wasn't biting on the idea to get the pontoon out and launch it though yesterday LOL.upnc8vpxtbwv.jpeg

    Mary - LL Bean Boots.

The BEST and LAST boot you'll ever buy! They will do lifetime repairs on your boots for life (keep your receipt).

I'm sure Lee can back me up on these.

Um, LL Bean is good quality for sure, and I think they have a variety to choose from.

If you are looking for a rubber boot, LL Bean boots are very warm. I personally have a pair of LaCrosse rubber boots right now. But I had a pair of Irish Setter boots previously that gave good support and lasted a long time. I find that I have to spend a little over $100.

If you are looking for a hiking boot, again, so many to choose from.

Make sure the item is returnable in case the fit isn't right.

I've always been a fan of Timberland boots. Great for hiking and they are waterproof. That said if waterproof was truly the main need I would go with the L.L. Bean.

For good hiking boots, $100 is hard to hit. Everything has gone up a lot the last few years. I get all my hiking gear at REI. They used to just be a Northwest thing, but now have stores all over the country. They have a 100 percent satisfaction guarantee. You can return anything.

Most important thing with footwear is fit. You have to try them on (online shopping is a bad idea) and fit beats looks, ratings, friends' recommendations. That's my rule, anyway.

Ok. I have the LLbean boot. Love them.

REI is a hit too. Much more expensive.
