Good morning gentlemen.
Couldn't sleep, this morning, so here I am, drinking coffee at 4:30.
Truly awful weather, out here. yesterday, is rained, without letup, all day. Today promises to be almost as bad. La Nina years are trying.
Yesterday, I sold a coffee mug I turned. This is the second piece I have sold. The funny thing is that I am sure the women who purchased these pieces thought they were paying top dollar for them, when in reality, I have earned far less than minimum wage. I gave them the friends and family price. I don't think people appreciate the work that goes into quality, hand-crafted goods.0 -
I saw that Olympia had buckets and buckets of rain. We have had a lot of rain for us too. We'll see if there is flooding on the trail this morning.
Stay safe warm and dry all!!0 -
Good Morning!
We have freezing fog this morning. Connie and I got out a little in the car yesterday, but we didn't go far. The roads were in pretty bad shape, which is disappointing. Usually, they are very good right after a snow. I will need to get out today to go to the pharmacy, which is about 12 miles from our house. The highways should be fine. It is supposed to get into the low 40s today, so there will be melting.
My weight was down .9 for the week, I will take it as a victory.
Last night, I made ham and navy bean soup for the first time in years. I had soaked the beans overnight, and I used left over ham from Christmas that I froze. I also made cornbread. It was very good on a cold winter's eve.
Not a lot going on today. Chores today, as I spent yesterday taking down Christmas decorations.
Have a great day!0 -
Good Morning
Wooden coffee mugs? It is a world of wonder!
Cool and cloudy day and rain forecast, so we are headed to the coast to get in some ocean time to get Heather some R&R after spending her vacation time running the house and looking after me. We like a bakery/cafe over in Capitola where can call in and pick up lunch and see if we can find a spot at the ocean to set up chairs and have a picnic. Otherwise, we will stay in the car. Hopefully, I will be able to get my crutches out. People in the Bay Area are pretty good about masks and social distancing.

The coffee mugs have a stainless steel insert and lid. You turn the wood to fit the profile of the insert, then glue it in.0

Beautiful work Dave!!!
Bright and sunny here today, but cool
Glad to be out of quarantine, went to older brothers yesterday; 14 of us there, 5 not there due to possible COVID. DMIL went with us.
DGS comes into greatroom and announces that Nana does not wash hands when she uses bathroom, and she wonders why I will not let her help in kitchen.
9 minutes after 5 this morning DMIL pops open door from downstairs and very loudly ask why is everything so quiet? Darn we usually sleep till 7 am.
Virtual church this morning then sat in on virtual WW meeting.
Tomorrow back to yoga classes0 -
Good afternoon, gents. Sam, gad you're out of lockup. Thin coat of snow and ice left after rain last night. Church this morning and reading about mobile ham radios this afternoon. Found a simple one with more power than the walky-talky looking ones that's not too much $, might buy it after I talk to the store for more info. Still need to take (and pass) the test, but can at least listen until then. Dave, mug sounds cool. In old England some preferred wooden mugs and bowls to "modern" crockery, which broke too easily.
Sourdough came out good again, different recipe, easier than the last one... now I have to lear not to eat it all at once...
Have a good rest of day.0
