Bittersweet Shopping

so...not sure what covid restrictions are in your area, but here the shops are back open, masks up, but you can't try on clothes in the stores any more...had to return some jeans for my daughter to Kohls and get more in a different size...as always, hit up the clearance rack while I was there...I have been working from home since last March, so I don't need work clothes, and I have plenty of jeans and t-shirts, but I thought it would be fun to find a cute dress for dinner out in the spring when places open for outdoor dining...I'm not feeling safe with the dining indoors, I know a lot of folks are, but to each their own, not me...in any case, ended up finding not one but TWO dresses...one my daughter wanted but I snatched it before she could snag it - for $10 and change, that's not a think about, that's a MINE...the other was kind of 50's cute black bodice with a pretty pattern skirt, and it was $23...
get them home...it's a whole lot of nope...
Not really on the sizing, I was actually surprised that one of them totally zipped up and the other almost zipped up, given that the waist was right at my bra band, which is several inches bigger than my actual waist, I was actually pretty pleased that they even came close, but they certainly would have fit comfortably on my actual waist...
if I was like 5'2" instead of 5'9"
didn't fit my daughter either, she could even get it over her chest because she's several inches more busty than I am...
so a little bitter because I have to drive at least 35 min one way to go back to the store to return stuff at some point, but a little sweet because even being super short in the waist, I actually could get one on and one almost on...I was skeptical that they might be too small, but they would have fit if they were made for someone taller...I hate clothes shopping because it's hard to find tall stuff...
anyone else with other clothing shopping woes or wins they want to share...

That’s sounds frustrating.
I recently moved to Florida from up North and got rid is almost all of my coats in an effort to pare down. It was great until December rolled around and I was heading up North and had to buy a jacket Uhg1
