Will catch up on my check in when I get to my laptop (did not check in last night). Driving 693 miles today. All food planned, tracked and packed through lunch Monday. Got up at 5:30 to get in exercise, so if all goes well, today will not be a pass.6

@SModa61 have a safe trip! So well planned. That is how we are successful for sure.
I was planning a run today before the real snowstorm and arctic single digits hit tomorrow and Mon/Tues but when I went outside I was upset to see a thin layer of black ice on everything. We temps not going above 27 today it's slicker than a skating rink all over so I won't even get to see bandit.
Yesterday I did drive out and the roads were clear but I could see the ice on the shoulders of the overpasses and wow it must have been a skating rink the day before and most likely today also. The benefit of a covered arena with good footing tho is that I was able to turn Bandit out. He was mopey from not seeing me the day before but he played and played and played some more. Every time I thought he was going to settle he would jump up off all 4's and rear up as tho there were dragons. or cows. Amazing what some fun time does. He was completely happy again when I left. So.. barn owner has instructions to do more turn out the next few days if I can't get out there. I normally am there every day except for BIG floods due to low water. So being not able to go out for days in a row is quite out of the ordinary.
Did I exercise for at least 20 minutes? yes - I tried the new Apple plus workout today. Was a little disappointed it would not work with my older Apple TV. But more and more things are stopping working with it these days. Eventually I might have to ante up and get a new TV and a new Apple TV. (mine are over 10 yrs old)
Did I stay within my calorie budget for the day? yes and a measely budget it is without any running or much workout.
Did I keep track of everything I ate and drank? yesBandit doing his black stallion impersonation. He's 29 for goodness sakes and acts 2.

@summerskier glad you were cautious about the black ice. So easy to get injured on it. Hope Bandit gets the attention until it’s safe for you to get back there!4

Starting tomorrow, I might change my routine a little. My niece want to start losing weight properly and want to start a February + first week of March challenge. She want someone to do the challenge with her, and I know how difficult the start is, we need this push to get going. So, I offered to do the challenge with her. Since my coming back, I have been taken it easy, not overworking myself. But this challenge is going to be tough 😶. Let's just wish for the best and not lose the way.

Exercise: yes, bike ride 30 minutes, cardio 40+ minutes.
Tracking: yes
Calories: yes

It was freezing this morning, but made myself go out on the bike for a ride - just a short ride round the town. It wasn't even sunny, just cold and almost snowing. I am getting lots of short cardio/walking workouts in during the day - one of the benefits of being retired. I tend to potter around all day - and the weekends are no different to the weekdays, just tedious.
Stay safe everyone

@SummerSkier glad you took it easy with the ice. Sounds like Bandit had a ball. I hope the weather doesn’t get in your way too much this week.
I had a revelation today when I collected a bag of groceries from a shop. The grocery bag felt a little heavy, my poor old knee could feel it a bit as I carried it. When I got home I weighed the bag, it weighed little less than the weight I’ve lost since January 1st - 4 kilos. I could NOT believe it! What a massive favour I have done my knees by taking that weight off them for every step I take. And there is definitely more to go. I had only thought about my weight in terms of how my clothes fit and how I looked before. Never in terms of the load I’m putting on my joints....so added motivation there to keep doing what I’m doing.6 -

this is actually what motivated me to lose weight. I was carrying a 24 pound container of cat litter in to the house and thought how HEAVY it was and realized that was also on my poor knees. Now every time I pick up that cat litter carton it reminds me. Total lightbulb moment!!!!
and yes with this frame of mind, you WILL keep going for sure! awesomeness.

Not a lot I can so on my phone, but explains the ratio is 4 to 1. So that 25 lb bag of litter is 100 lb to your knees.
