Question for you

I tried this a few years back, but we didn't have the interest in it then. And it's okay if we still don't ... I just thought I'd throw it out again.

Would anyone here be up for a gathering? I'm thinking we could rent a big air B&B, one with separate bedrooms for all of us (plus our spouses) in a pretty, quiet mid-country state like Kentucky or Tennesee, for a long weekend in September. We could all share the expenses, take turns cooking for the group, drink coffee for real together in the mornings, lounge around, do some outdoor sightseeing and local events, maybe even go to church together somewhere (whoever is into that, anyway). It would be a quiet, connection thing ... not a busy, fill-every-minute thing. I'm thinking a Thursday night - Sunday afternoon kinda thing, so 3 nights, 2 1/2 days. Travel on Thursday and Sunday.

Thoughts?

Sept is really busy for me in 2021 with ds2s wedding. But depends when, where. But would be fun!

For some reason I'd read that wedding as August, Mary. Maybe October would be better? Early October?

And I really wasn't thinking anything that would take much preparation other than throwing some clothes in a bag and getting there. It would be low-expense because of us sharing a big house and cooking most of our meals, and mostly a hanging out thing instead of a busy thing. Relaxing and visiting. Maybe walking around a pretty little country town a bit. Taking some pictures of trees and blue skies.

I'd love the gettogether, but we are quite a bit farther away. I don't think it is in the cards for us.

I agree, Lisa! Sept/Oct - we are in! There are some exquisite cabins AIR BnB here in the Shenandoah Mountains of VA (about 45 minutes outside of Dulles airport). I had a cabin lined up for DW 60th last year that had 10/br and 6 ba. Mountain lodge. GORGEOUS outdoor fire pit. HUGE table inside for gathering; great room w/ fireplace!

The wedding is Sept 10th... I would consider later in Sept or in October...
