So, would Sept 30 - Oct. 3 work for you for a gathering? That date can be changed if need be.
I'd like to find an airB&B that would be $100 or less per bedroom per night, in a state that's kinda in the middle from where those who are coming live. My first choice would be a small country town with some local flair. To find that, we'll need to have a definitive number of who's coming so we can plan the correct number of bedrooms.
I realize it's early still, but I also know that places can tend to book up.
Obviously, Jim and I are totally in.

Aaaaaaaaaaaaaannnnnnnnnnnnnnnd ... it just got cheaper!
Skip has generously asked to love us all by paying for ALL the groceries. So now the only cost to anyone will be their room and the gas to get there. Yay, Skip! We love you, too!
My plan in that on the day we arrive we do a big group shopping trip right off the bat. Each of us can choose one of the weekend's meals to plan and cook for the group, and you'll be in charge of making sure all the ingredients get bought that day. And Skip will get the tab for it. So buy GOOD stuff! HA!
Closer to the date we'll have a discussion about food allergies and preferences.0 -

I would love to come but we just can't make plans that far out. (Doesn't have a place booked yet for after March 15 lol)
We are hoping for international travel by fall....but if you find a place that just happens to have an extra room we can be on standby. But do not book a bigger place just for our maybe.0 -

Mary, my hope is that, once we know for sure who all is coming, I can find something that's right in the center of us all so that no one has to drive too horribly far. I am also hoping for a small town, something quiet and quaint. And pretty.1

Did I miss anyone? Here's the thing ... I realize that something might come up for any one of us between now and then. What I'm hoping is that, by committing, you're committing in good faith to cover your percentage of the room cost either way so that no one has to pay more than expected and agreed upon. Sound fair?
That's 7 bedrooms (assuming Lou comes). Raine, here's what I'm thinking ... I'll find a few, then I'll just let YOU call the owners and do your magic about the puppy. You can let me know which ones approved it, and then we can decide and book.
It probably won't happen this weekend ... it's pretty busy the next couple days for us.1 -
