This graphic is correct but 'reduce stress' is a complex and personal challenge for many of us.
What do you do to 'reduce stress' in your life?

26th March
Yes yes and yes.
Stress=My position at work is super stressful and demands a great deal of my time so i made a decision to stay at home longer with my baby. This has significantly reduced the stress in the house. Best decision i made!
Hope u all hve a stressfree day and a restful night. Xox7 -
@donna25trinity I was trying to catch up with the group last night (have missed plenty). I did see that you have made it to your goal. Congratulations!
Stress management - I have no methods. Stress comes, stress goes. I should learn how to best control it. Will be reading today's responses with interest.3 -

AS far as stress management I do find that my daily runs and rides help a lot. Getting out to the barn after work is like "changing the channel" from being on a computer all day to watching the white egrets or chasing the herd of deer around. I even have a redtail hawk I names Mr Fluffy pants because of his white feathered legs. Another huge stress relief is pets. Having a purring cat on your lap is very difficult to ignore. Or a horse muzzle searching in your hair for a sugar cube. Finding the beauty in the small things when everything is going crazy one small step at a time.
However, sometimes things CAN overwhelm no matter how much you try to change the channel. I find that in the very worst scenarios, meds can help. Not all the time mind you but once in a while when you are so stressed you feel like your chest is going to burst and you can't move, then some pharmacutical help is not the end of the world.
And this is coming from someone who absolutely hates the idea of taking meds because yes, there is always some sort of trade off to deal with.

Stress reducer: when my ToDo list ๐overwhelmes me and I feel frustrated for not having sent that eMail yet ๐คฆโโ๏ธ, I pause and start counting all my recent achievements. ๐
Working out ๐คธโโ๏ธ religiously has kept me sane during this long lockdown. ๐ I don't want to lose momentum. I very rarely have the time to jump around, but I very often *take* the time.๐
Coming here, reading your notes, posting myself, cheering up, ackowledging the likes - destresses me (most of the times ;-) Thank you!๐น7 -
No more eating (maybe I'll make myself a cup of herbal ๐ต), well under the calories and a nice leisure 30 min ๐โโ๏ธ with hubs ๐ซ made me conquer another day! ๐6

Did I keep track of everything I ate and drank? Yes, 2,100 ml of fluid.

My pets reduces my stress!! Talking and complaining about it help out too, but it causes stress to the listener which I feel apologetic towards though. Change of scenery help me too! And lastly give up on one responsibility that's it is okay to hand it over to someone else or to stop it completely, this always give me a breather.
I cought the question while scrolling down, I have been really busy lately, all I could was post my progress, hardly read any other posts, which is sad since I always have a better mindset towards exercising and dieting after reading your posts.
Goodnight and hopefully everyone will have a better day tomorrow ๐

Another PR for this workout. Having the "Rest & Refeed" day yesterday worked. On the last rest day (Sunday), I'll aim for specific macros - 40/40/20 - in the hopes that will make a difference in efficiency (if not time).
As to stress reducers? Prayer, sleep, exercise, and the company of friends.

Pass Days Used: (MAR16)(MAR25)Since my 40 lb KB is taking some getting used to, I've worked out my expected progression using a drop set approach with my 25 lb KB. However, I ended off the first week and then started the second week by advancing my workout progressions faster than expected.
The calendar has been adjusted as of MAR082021 to reflect that I may end up doing 8 sessions with only the 40 lb KB (not just 3, as laid out in the original plan). Still aiming for a consistent 30 min PR by month-end.
For the weekend of the 20 & 21, my times were faster because I wasn't required to do the 3 sets of ancillary exercises (weighted squats). But, it's also the first time I used the 40 lb KB exclusively.
The number in yellow indicates the number of minutes taken to complete the workout that day

@SummerSkier - totally agree that somethings are just overwhelming... and I find that just letting that feeling flow and run itโs course is the easiest for me!! Takes some time, and a total feeling of no control (which is also overwhelming), but it works for me!! Love your insights!!4 -

The main reason I exercise every single day is to combat stress. I find that if I get rid of stress daily rather than letting it bottle up, I do much better. The other thing I do to combat stress is get out in nature nearly every day, even just to sit by a peaceful lake for a bit. The best thing I do to combat stress is take my problems to the Lord daily. Philippians 4:6-7 helps me to keep anxiety in check.

@SummerSkier I also agree that pets can be such a great stress reliever. A lot of the time they sense when you need a little extra love. I also find exercising relieves my stress and boosts my mood. Listening to music or taking a long, hot shower are two other favorites.

Oh, stress. I quite honestly have nothing helpful to offer on this topic, Iโm sorry. โน๏ธ I am the worst at managing stress and pretty much just exist in fight or flight 24/7. High functioning anxiety for the win? So... any and all stress reduction pointers welcome.

Stress eating is a huge pitfall for me. The key is to manage things before I get stressed out (as much as I can, anyway.) I spend some time every Sunday looking at my calendar for the week ahead so I know what I'll be dealing with. Exercise definitely helps keep stress at bay, but I struggle to stay motivated after a long day of work.6 -
I enjoyed a nice session with my trainer today. Tracked, and I'm at. I baked some almond flour banana bread and it was nice to freeze some of it, rather than leave it out for a daily consumption ritual.
Stress relief: re-signing up for my weekly yoga session has helped. All forms of exercise, talking with loved ones, keeping a journal, and reading for fun.7 -

I really need to work on my water intake. it is so bad I am ashamed to admit how low it is on some days. I think I need to also add that into my priorities of staying under calories, exercising and tracking, drinking at least 6 glasses a day. I know the medical community says 8, but I will work my way up there.7 -
Yes x 3
I reduce stress by praying and reading my Bible. It also helps if I get enough sleep! Lol6 -
Like @SummerSkier, Before the pandemic, when I was still working full-time, when I would come home from the office, Rose would often say to me, "Rick, I think you need to go to the barn"
Now, I am working more than half-time remotely. I get stressed by client assumptions and unrealistic deadlines. I don't have a magic wand that can be waved over their problems. Unfortunately, my magic wand has some manufacturer's defect. I can help reduce the pain, but seldom cure all of the consequences.
Just being with the horses is enough to change my mood. I don't have to be riding, I can be pitching horse manure. I love the smell of the barn, the leather and years of horse sweat.
Here in our desert home, I love to walk in the desert. I do have a horse at a stable here and I do the daily chores.
During the last year, I have really focused on being aware of what my horse is being aware about. This forces me shut out my own internal worries and distractions. When you are trying to listen to an animal that does not speak, you must shut off your own internal chatter.
It is my internal self-chatter that must be silenced so as to reduce stress.11 -

I'll probably be taking pass #3 tomorrow as my partner is craving burger and fries so we're going to a pub type place. I always order my burgers without the caloric bun (I'm not much of a bread person in general) so I may be able to squeak by depending on whether or not I succumb to the fries or have a salad instead.
I've been pretty stress free since I retired. However, I often found having a cup of tea (no caffeine) and a good book to be a relaxing activity.7
