March 9 pass
March 10 pass (wife’s birthday)
I knew going in I most likely would exceed the pass day limit, but I needed to get started and get back in the routine and look for improvement as the month goes on.
@Chinkiri just like you said ... I’m grabbing ahold of what I’ve got and moving forward.
@fractaltiger ...as a rotating shift worker I have to move the exercise times around....just need to make sure I get it in.
@Mrs_Hoffer ...I need to replace my tracker. Threw the last one away last fall. In the past I relied on the step count quite a bit. It was actually quite a motivator to get up and move.
Thank you all for the encouragement ... and I am already down 7 pounds for the month regardless.8 -
@Impala007 Well done! I now need to go and take my own advice!1

Did I exercise for at least 20 minutes? NO
Did I stay within my calorie budget for the day? NO (I don't think so)
Did I keep track of everything I ate and drank? NO
Busy day! Went to my dad's to take him to the barber. Barber called to cancel cut because some emergency came up. So I spent some time with my dad before I took him to get his 2nd Covid shot...YAY...that's done!! By the time I arrived home, it was our usual Wednesday eve "date meal" night. So, after we ate our take-out, I fell asleep around 7:30 pm...lol

For the record, I kept calling every half hour for an appointment at a place I know schedules both shots. I got through at 8:30, sat on hold for 40 mins, and have an appointment for 9 AM tomorrow, and 9 AM April 2nd, Pfizer.
PERSEVERANCE!2 -

I am hoping I can figure out that calorie number that keeps me 153-155 with less effort. (Prior to this I’ve eaten in a range of calories.) I think this will be easier to tinker with also as I need fewer calories as I get older.
Optimistic!
looks like success to me. Right now you are in what I call the recovery phase. Give it longer to see where the 2100 goes. You have now stopped the bleeding and stabilized your weight to some extent from what was going on in late Feb as far as mindlessness to cals in. You may find that 2100 is not enough and you drop below your range over time. (think months). Consider 155.8 is .8 outside your range. If you did a statistical chart I am pretty sure you are less than a percentage over right now and with time and consistency it will trend down to where you want to be.
Thanks Summer! Aka @SummerSkier
Yep I’m going to re-assess after tomorrow - Day 7
I’m about to hungry, so if all’s still going well 3/13 weigh-in I’ll bump up cals by 50 for a week & see What happens.
I’ve eaten fewer than 2100 cals on average of 1/4 of the past 60 weeks & lost weight. So I’m thinking I can nudge higher. My goal is as many calories I can eat & remain 153-155
I also know I “gain a couple of pounds in early July (HOT days begin) and drop off when I it cools off Sept. I might decide to have two maintenance ranges l- Summer (!) & Winter. I think it’s just water by the way it pops on & then falls off.
I think of you whenever I make a bug salad!
PS I have played with the TDEE but I don’t think my exercise calories are always accurate...1 -

MARCH 2021 ULTIMATE ACCOUNTABILITY CHALLENGE
Start weight, March 1, 2021: 123.2March 1, 2021 – 123.2 (-3.0)

January 1, 2021 – 132 (-3.6)
December 1, 2020 – 135.6 (-5.2)
November 6, 2020 – 140.8 (-7.0)
October 2, 2020 – 147.8 (-5.2)
September 14, 2020 – 153.0
Thoughts for daily calories goalI need to revisit how I am handling my daily calorie goal for maintenance as I am “failing” in that regard as I lost another 3 lbs while “maintaining” during this month. Having two variables of food calories and exercise calories is challenging for me. In the past I have lost and maintained with less significant exercise numbers so it was more a single variable. I do not want to drop back on exercise as I am doing it for overall health and fitness.
Just use MFP to calculate my maintenance calories/day. Nutritional needs are estimated at 1590, and it predicts that with exercise, I would need 1862 for 1 hour exercise for days/week. Average Apple Watch TDEE for February was 2126. Average calories consumed/day for February were 1686. With three pound loss over the month, to maintain, I would have needed an additional 375 calories/day for a total of 2073/calories/day. So, my thought for March is to consider my daily goal, 1590 plus daily exercise, but, for planning sake, I will expect that number to be around 1900 calories.

*** First pass of the month used. Very much worth the treat – Went to Square Grouper and started with a Key Lime Martini with graham cracker rim (sorry @RangerRickL not the pie), shared appetizers of Flash Fried Conch with Ponzu and Wasabi drizzle (amazing!!), and Ahi Tuna and Avocado eggrolls with Asian dipping sauce, then an entrée of Seared Sesame Encrusted Tuna with Jasmine rice and Asian slaw, and finished with a cup of coffee and a shared Strawberry Nutella Bread pudding with warm butter rum sauce. Though I may not make winners circle at the end of March, I fully intend to end a champion.

*** So while I have already gone negative on my passes and out of the winner’s circle, I am caught up with all my check-ins and though my formal tracking has been off, I have survived these past 4 days. Tuesday was 123.2, then went out to dinner and jumped to 125.2, had another off day and increased to 125.6, but this morning I am 123.8 and I do not mind that. It is 3:17 PM as I type this comment, and I just finished tracking where I am at for the day, so that I can finish strong today. Exercise has not been a daily issue lately. Tracking and total calories have been my challenge. My final post will go up later tonight once the kitchen is closed.
