Good Morning

Up quite early thanks to a nerve pain flare. It has calmed down but I am wide awake so fortunately the Womens Final at the Australian Open just finished recording so I am watching. A bit surprised since yesterday was a really good day. Hopefully I will be able to fall back to sleep later.

Dave that bowl was beautiful. So delicate and the birch only accented that. Well done! I like the detail on the base.

Love the bowl, Dave. I can remember my first (and only) shop class in Jr. high when I made a bud vase on a lathe. Beginning and end of my woodturning career, but my aunt always kept it on her desk with a plastic rose in it.

Skied yesterday a few hours, but only 2" of fresh powder that was on top of hard ice half the way, or deep snow with a crust the rest of the way. Awkward to ski on but still decent exercise.

Sun is out this morning and DD found out from her ultrasound that it's a girl. Her two boys are excited.

    Have a good day.

    Good morning gentlemen.

Hope you can get some rest, Bill.

I remember fondly my x-country skiing days. I had a pair of skis my first tour of duty in Alaska, 1977-1980. They were wooden, and required treatment with pine tar on the base every year and relied on wax to both grip and slide on the snow. I loved them. Skiing on an icy crust was a challenge, though.

Rain yesterday melted most of our remaining snow. Now I wish it would warm back to the point we could start anticipating spring.

    Good Morning!

Dave, that is indeed a beautiful bowl. You are indeed an artisan.

Taking the cat to the DVM at 8:00. Ugh.

It is supposed to be sunny today and over 30. I'll take it. Rain/snow tomorrow again.

I did get the year end papers ready for the CPA yesterday. It always seems like such a major task each year. The stack of papers is over 500 pages. The work that I do on year end can cost or save the company tens of thousands in taxes, so I guess it is worth it.

Chores today, and some running around. Tomorrow starts prep for a colonoscopy on Monday.

My PSA blood test came back 0.4, which I guess is very good. My triglycerides are high, so doc wants me to add fish oil supplements. I changed to Buspar for anxiety, and staying on Meloxicam for osteoarthritis.

My weight today is 187.6, which is exactly 10 pounds less than I weighed on Christmas Eve.

    Have a great day!

A frightening journey over Mt Hood in 30 miles of snow, ice, and a blinding snowstorm to get to Central Oregon for our COVID shot. 320 mile r.t. of driving after our nice 8 passenger Swiss turboprop airline cancelled on us 14 minutes before we were to go to the airport. Fortunately no reactions for us and miraculously we made the trip. Glad we had Nokian snow tires on the car and a completely full tank of gas.
