    @SummerSkier

Thank you! I think I'll be better able to make a decision when I finally get it cut. Right now it's multiple shades due to the last coloring/grow-out phase. (I'm considering keeping the gray but adding a streak of purple. 💜)

P.S. I don't really want to go to the salon until I'm fully vaccinated.

Hi! Since we're speaking of hair, I'll chime in on mine. I thought about going gray since it was about 1/2 grown out by last September but I basically have white framing my face (is that what you said about yours, @Summerskier?) and the back is pretty much my natural brown color with some gray. My hairdresser said it was wonderful and people pay lots of money for that look. Well, they can pay for it if they want to, but I don't like it! But I didn't want an all over color and I think it looks more natural to have a few shades. So in January I got a low light but she didn't do much with the white frame. I'm going back next week and we'll see if she can get it more to my liking. I want to look a little more natural, but am not ready for ALL natural!
@PKM0515 I wonder what my kids would say if I came home with a streak of purple?! It sounds like fun but I'm not that brave!!
@angelic843 I am eagerly waiting for the return of the Red-winged Blackbirds, but it will be a few more weeks here for sure. The western part of the state is expecting a blizzard this weekend. We'll get rain but we're back in the 40's for highs now :'(

Darn! just lost my last message so I'll try again.
@SummerSkier I think you're doing great! Even ahead of schedule, and it's good to be flexible. I hope your headache is gone by now. I've had the same thing for 2 days and am tired and my eyes hurt, and I decided it's allergies.
@PKM0515 It's easy to feel like others are doing better, but it's only because you are at a different place in your life. Your accomplishments may be different, but are just as important and to be congratulated.
@angelic843 I am in awe of anyone who can stay off the scale! Did you put yours away or are you super disciplined (unlike me)!?

I did well last week with the outside time to get extra Vitamin D, did some bird ID by sound, and got a few pictures, but the sun hasn't shone for 2 days and we have 3 days of rain ahead so that's not working so well! I can't seem to get motivated to do much the past 2 days...so sleepy and no oomph for anything but sitting in front of the computer and listening to audiobooks.

I have been keeping track of my anxiety feelings for awhile. I now realize that every time I do something out of the ordinary that I'm not sure how to do, I feel my neck and shoulders tense up. Even this morning I was changing an ink cartridge and I recognized the symptoms. Weird because it's definitely not the first time I've done it, but it has been awhile. Once I feel that tension, I can consciously release it and realize that whatever I was doing is not reason for a negative physical response. This is probably why I have so many things that I put off doing. I don't know how to do them, so it's less stressful to do something else...maybe. I think more self-awareness of the anxiety trigger, response, and how to deal with it might help me be a little braver. It's a process!

@SummerSkier Thanks! Yes, indeed, it does seem, AND it also looks like, I took a huge chunk out of the paper, as well as the actual work, of the phone book updating task!

You nailed it for Tuesday and Wednesday's planned cleaning list!! Well done 👍😸!!

At the moment the phone book drawer currently has no paper in it 😏. Only the tools, and the small box with business cards and timers, tape measure and some small miscellaneous items that live in the box. Another day I will tidy up the drawer just to make sure there is nothing that slipped in unnoticed. Or if anything can be decluttered or relocated now. We have not had a 'junk' drawer in the kitchen for many years. But this drawer was the closest one to looking like it was one with all the phone books stuffed in there 😵🥴.

    Week two 'I Will' :

    March 7: Rest day
    March 8: 💥🐯💥
    March 9: 💥🐯💥
    March 10: 💥🐯💥

    🤠🌺

@texasgardnr, I am totally impressed with your phone book consolidation project. Visual clutter is a real demotivator. I bet you are feeling great that your phone book drawer has no paper in it!

When you feel in need of a pick me up, just go open that drawer! 😀

@texasgardnr WOW!!!! I am totally impressed with your change in approach. It seems like in one HUGE swath you have made about 90% progress by consolidating. <3

Progress continues this week and the more I do, the more I get done. LOL.

Tuesday 9 March: Vacuum dining room
DONE and that involved moving a lot of cat scratch pads under the table and such. I also decided to revisit the front porch area and bought some more permanent lights which come on a string. I will be working to hang those this weekend I think. And much easier to replace single bulbs in them vs having to cut down old Xmas light strings when they quit.

Wed 10 March: Vacuum Savannah's room and the kitty hallway around litter box better
Done. And this task grew to be a clean up of the closet cat box area which I haven't done in a couple years. Amazing how much litter builds up in there. I have a lot of catch carpets in there so it's not too hard to do, just a lot of dust and moving things around.

Thur 11 March: Change and wash bed linens (also getting my hair done. It's been almost 6 months!!!!)

Friday 12 March: Vacuum the bedroom (always best to do after I change the linens due to flying feathers) adding to this my handyman is coming and is going to fix the faucets and toilet which I have been living with for over a year now... I will also ask him to help reset some of the blinds/curtains which have pulled out of the wall. He's actually my AC/Furnace guy but I love he is small business and doesn't overcharge. He is a talker tho....

    Sat 13 March: Vacuum Kitchen

Sun 14 March: Vacuum any left over areas and Dust

@SummerSkier, your tidying up project in small, doable daily pieces is a brilliant strategy.

I have a love/hate relationship with my Miele vacuum. It does a great job, but with 2 dogs and living on a dirt road, I was pulling it out every day. So for Christmas, I treated myself to one of those robot vacuums. LOVE IT! I still need to use my Miele, but now only once a week.

Still focused on having some water before my cups of coffee or tea. Still not loving plain water, but it’s OK. BJ Fogg in his Fogg Behaviorial Model says that we act when our ability to do an action, our motivation to do it, and a cue occur at the same time. If we aren’t terribly motivated to do something, than it needs to be super easy to do or we won’t do it and then there’s no chance of building it into a habit. That’s my water issue in a nutshell. I’m not terribly motivated, but because it’s so easy to do, I’m doing it.

@nebslp - I didn't pack it away...but I think it will be okay. I am pretty resolved in my decision to only weigh in once this month.

In recent months I have noticed that I struggle making good choices after I experience an undeserved gain (or at least what I think is an undeserved gain). Even though I logically know it is likely due to water retention/sodium...and it is never a big gain....it just tends to frustrate me....which often leads to bad decisions nutrition-wise.

SO, I want to just focus on my habit tracker and see what happens at the end of the month.

Bingo! You hit the nail on the head for me, too, as far as anxiety, fear, and procrastination. Thank you for voicing this; it helps to know that others have the same feelings.

I've actually decorated index cards with sayings like "Just one scary thing" and "When in doubt, just take the next small step." When I'm doing "good," I make it a point to start the day off doing just one of these "challenging" things.
