I've been hosting the UAC for more than 3 years, I have observed that each month we add new members of whom, the majority disappear by the 15th of the month. I believe that most of those who leave us actually quit on themselves and their goals. Most of you who are enthusiastic in posting have had moments in which you wanted to quit on yourself, but you CHOSE not to quit.

Yesterday, @victorious55 shared these words of wisdom...
"We've all had one setback or the order. I have fallen down and up again. This journey is not linear. It is both ups and downs. The goal is to reduce the down times. Thereby, building a good habit. I am in a maintenance. But, there a lots of time where I have had to reset.
Whenever, I get to the point you've described, these are what I say to myself. I self talk a lot...:)
Okay, you've fallen off the wagon. Get up, dust of the sand/dirt and climb again. If you keep staying down then everyone will not only know that you fell off and you will be full of sand and dirt. The dirt may even dry on your body "*ouch*".
Okay, you stepped into poop. Go home quickly and wash yourself immediately else there will be too many flies around you and you will stink. "*ouch*"
Okay, the china bowl fell off your hands. What do you want to do now? Do you want to remove all your china bowls from your cabinet and destroy them?
I can't help the past. But, I can make a different for tomorrow by today's decisions.
There is a purpose why God did not give me eyes on my back. So that I can always look forward and walk forward. Nobody, walks backward and make it to their destination.
I say this is in my local language (it is more meaningful in my local language) screaming at myself "STOP FEELING SORRY FOR YOURSELF. THIS IS NO TIME FOR THIS NONESENSE. IT HAS NEVER MOVED YOU FORWARD IN LIFE. GOT UP. GO GIVE YOURSELF A GOOD BATH. ANOINT YOURSELF WITH GOOD SMELLING PERFUME/OIL. DRESS UP, PUT ON SOME MUSIC, DANCE IF POSSIBLE, AND RESET. YOU ARE GOING TO SUCCEED!!! " OTHERS HAVE DONE IT. YOU TOO CAN!!! GOOD GIRL!!!
Lastly, I pray for strength and then come here and read other people's postings and get encouraged.
I pray and hope that one of these my "self talks" will be helpful to you.
You are worth the reset button. You can make it."

And for those of us with cats. This is a time honored tradition obviously.4 -
Good day today. Good food choices and a good Jiu Jitsu session plus coaching kids class. Great catch up with a friend and spend some good time with coach’s son between classes as coach was busy. It was rainy weather which makes me want to get in bed but having to supervise youngling I couldn’t bail on training.8

3 x Yes
Trying to keep the positive momentum going after my two days examining last week. I've set up a sort of timetable / to do list on my electronic calendar, including exercise, food and fun things, seems to work so far.
Lack of structure seems to be a trigger for me to dip into depression and inactivity. Book Club on Zoom was good, but I find it much harder to be tolerant of people who go on and on on Zoom, than when I see them face to face...
Planning a trip to the seaside tomorrow ...10 -
@Chinkiri
Good for you figuring out that structure helps you! Can I go with you to the seaside? I'm feeling the need for some time off...2 -
Yesterday was my 2nd pass day. I did fine on calories but just waiting too late in the day to do some exercise and quite frankly just got lazy about it. Today was a nice day, though. I did my spin class right after dinner and it was a lot of fun.✅ ✅ ✅5

Thank you @RangerRickL for sharing the motivation that you find with us. I’ve been lucky enough to be in your UAC since January. I was about to quit. Why keep posting when I already used my three pass days, plus a fourth? Why? It’s because of what you said over the past three and a half months. Stay with it. Keep going. Look forward. You can do this. Start again. Thank you for helping keep us on track.10 -
Thank you @RangerRick well spoken thoughts I know I have been there before and am sure to be there again but life is full of battles pick the ones most important to you one of mine is a healthy lifestyle with some fun!

Hi guys. Just checking up on everyone.
exercise: yes
tracked: yes
calories: nope
pass: I have been out the circle for awhile now
today was not good nor bad. I tracked, but because I didn't weigh I cannot honestly say if i was within my calorie limits. but I am not letting that get to me. I weighed yesterday, was 298.8, I was over the moon, finally out of 300 land. Woke up this morning and weighted 300.8, I just can't even.
All I said to myself, either it was water weight you lost that had you in 200 land, or its water weight you have gained that have you in 300 land. Either way, keep on trucking, so that's what I'm doing.
My clothes are feeling a bit looser, I am not in as much pain and my energy is starting to go up. so I will hold onto that while the scale figures itself out.8 -
Pass day #4. Officially out of the winners circle.
Exercise: ✅ Added an extra mile to Monday’s so walked 1, ran 4
Calories: ❌ Over 175 and if I ate like this everyday I’d still weigh 5lbs less in 5 weeks so it’s not terrible 🤷🏻♀️
Tracked: ✅
I had an epiphany this morning that I feel like an idiot for not realizing sooner, but it’s kind of a self fulfilling issue. Lol. So this month so far I’ve just been off. Tired. Grumpy. Craving something I can’t quite put my finger on, which is making me munch and go over my calorie limit despot extra exercise. Also (TMI, sorry) my GI track has been backed up so I keep watching the scale creep up as days go by with nada happening on that front.
This morning I realized... I cut my coffee intake in half at the beginning of the month. Like, by a lot. I was drinking 60-80oz a day and I’ve brought it down to 32oz. That explains... everything. Why I’m craving something I can’t put my finger on, why I’m tired, why I’m grumpy, and why my system is not moving anything out. I feel dumb for not thinking of this sooner... perhaps if I had had more coffee I would have 😂🤣
I feel better realizing there is a reason that I’ll get past in (hopefully) a few more days and it’s not just me being “old me”.
Thanks for listening to me ramble. ❤️12 -

I went out for a walk after teaching today, thinking I'd just take a quick turn around the block--but then I wound up walking 2 miles, enjoying a podcast and the sunshine. Sometimes I surprise myself!
@RangerRickL makes a good point about quitting on ourselves--I know I've been tempted to give up several times since I started the UAC in January. Usually that was due to a lack of faith in my ability to get back on track after stumbling. But the great thing about this community is that there are plenty of people who've been in that same place and who continue to have faith in me when I've stopped believing in myself for a moment.11 -

Every year on the 3rd Saturday in October they close off this road to traffic and people bungee jump off of this bridge - over 800 feet to the river below! It's pretty amazing, and a dizzying sight to look down!!

Congratulations on managing emotions that can be tough, and staying on course!
I ONLY pay attention to average weights (weight Gurus app) & 10-day trend rates (Happy Scale app). Daily weights don’t mean anything to me -they are just DATA for the more important calculations & graphs.
It certainly reduces the stress. When I was losing I aimed for 4lbs lost per Month. Always hit it - sometimes early in the month, sometimes mid month, sometimes end of month due to the vagaries of weather, water, salt intake, exercise!
Kept it positive & more peaceful!
Congratulations on hitting your phenomenal milestone💪🏻🌟🎖🎉🏆
Hugs,

I agree with all you wrote!
Also, I believe that Handling Stumbles is THE KEY to maintenance, which is our Ultimate Goal. EVERY time we pick ourselves up kindly, and with self-care figure out what happened & how we might avoid it in the future, and then continue...we are practicing ESSENTIAL skills. Essential.
Congratulations!!!
