If you have not yet posted your Non-Scale Victories for mid-April, please do that today!
Yesterday, here is a sample to tempt you to go back and read everyone's posts...
@TexasRebelle posted, "I've lost about 125 lbs, have quit the yoyo cycle finally and am almost at a healthy weight for the first time in my adult life. I have never felt more confident. I no longer have to worry about fitting in a chair. Or have to lie about my weight. And I can shop for non plus size clothes giving me so many more options. I've been consistent with my strength training for about 3 years and I feel stronger than ever before."
and,
@Winner_in_Life posted " My Fitness Age/VO2max improved: 35/37 of today versus 48/34 on March 15
- No alcohol for 79 days 11 hours and 1135 Euro saved as a bonus
- I need a belt again to keep the jeans on the hips
- My shadow is much smaller
- I like the mirrors again
- Thanks to this group I am overall more consistent:)"
But there is more. Check out yesterday! You will be glad you did.8 -
I’ll start logging again on Monday. Still haven’t figured out how to get that right when the man stays over.
Today was no exercise as it was blood donation day. Then coffee catch up with a good friend. We see each other regularly at church and community group and theology course but don’t always get to those deep conversations which are needed occasionally. I’m so grateful for friends like her.
Today was my 98th donation. Should hit 100 this year and then I’ll let them take from my left arm. They keep asking because my right has developed a bunch of scar tissue around the donation site. I guess I could use that as an NSV for the month, to have been healthy often enough in the last 26 years (I started donating at 16) to have donated 98 units of blood and saved an unknown number of people with that.15 -

Difficult day today - weepy and fidgety - some days just seem hard.
At midday I went out for a very short walk round the block and came across a neighbour who I don’t really know but last year I saw him out on a few occasions. with his boy helping him to learn to ride a bike and exchanged a few words. Just a smile and a “Hi” really. This time he was on his driveway and he said hello – how are you? And I broke down and told him that my boy had died. He was so kind and thoughtful, talked me through the tears. People are so kind.16 -

I've really fallen off the wagon this week--so, so busy with work that I've been too exhausted to even think about exercise. But my NSV for this month is that I'm still keeping track of my calories every day, rather than just throwing in the towel and stress-eating. I'm pretty proud of myself for that. Not always coming in under budget on calories, but being honest with myself about where I am.10

@Dory_42 Thank you SO MUCH for donating all that blood! My father fought lymphoma for several years before ultimately losing the battle. Many times, he could barely lift his head off the pillow and then would receive blood and he would perk right up. Those blood donations gave him a couple of years we wouldn’t have otherwise had with him. It’s people like you who made that happen! I can’t thank you enough! Both my daughters have donated blood for years knowing what life saving good it does. I gave blood once and it took me months to recover due to a health issue. I so wanted to be a blood donor to give to other families what generous donors given mine. My doctor told me it just wasn’t safe for me to donate again. So people like you are my heroes! Thank you!7

***PASS DAY 1 of 3
I hate excuses but I was celebrating selling and finally closing on my house after five miserable years of living there. I also needed a "break" as I've been fairly strict since 12/31/20. Lack of sleep and not feeling well is probably going to make me regret this decision. Well, that and the hangover...6 -
Friday = pass day. So I’m officially over my pass days for the month.
NSV - I have been weight training with a trainer for almost 2 years now. While the weight has gone down and up and down, my chronic back pains are much better. I don’t “throw out my back” nearly as often and recover more quickly when I do. Less pain is a win.
Happy weekend!5 -

Walked 4.6 miles from home to pick up the vehicle when service is done. We’ll need to take it back in a week so I’ll likely repeat this for that drop off & pick up!
